I decided to try this salon because I have a special request - that person in a wheelchair can be accomodated. The stylist, Anya, was amazing ! I wanted a radical change and Anya made it :) She made the change from long bob to pixie, which looks and feels great. Respect you customer's time!!!! I get that you want to maximize your income for the day but DON'T do it on my watch! 3 hours for a colour cut and blow dry is outrageous especially since I sit and wait with colour on my hair and then you get someone else to wash it while you take other customers and then I sit and wait again with wet hair while you work yet again on another customer. This is a 1.5 hour job in any other high end salon and that's where I will be taking my medium length hair. Your customers may be polite and despite your lack of respect still demonstrate some towards the business but that does not lessen their total disgust in the experience and the service received. Wash and blow dry over $100 and my hair is medium length and not much hair. Was left damp underneath and it was all frizzy. I was not happy as I would think for that price my hair would be fully dried and smooth . I thought I'd try it since it was close to work. I will not be going back. read more

Hi, pls read my review carefully and don't go to this salon. persian girl I think her name is Nelly ruined my front hair pieces . . I was so upset almost going to cry, then instead of saying sorry, she was very unprofessionally screaming and defending herself to me with saying this is only how it can get done. My front of the hair looks like burned and broke off because of that. instead of really being sorry, she was having a high temper and made me even more upset. Yesterday (June 3rd) I had the absolute worst experience with the stylist Nela! After showing her the photo of the style I have been doing for years and explaining in detail not to cut my bangs at all, she went ahead and butchered them ... Cutting them much too short!!! She didn't listen and gave me the impression that all I was doing for as annoying her by my very presence! Horrible customer service!!! I went to the one in Mapleview mall in Burlington to get my daughter a layered haircut. I had a picture that I showed to the hairdresser named Savanna and asked if she could do it, and she answered, of course, no problem! My daughter who has really nice thick hair ended up with uneven, chopped off hair which was super thin now because the hairdresser cut way too much off!! When I told her that I was really unhappy with it, and tried to explain her that she just ruined my daughters hair, she tried to deny it. A couple of her co-workers came over to ask me what the problem was, so I showed them the picture, showed them my daughter's hair, and one agreed with me, but the others were basically telling me to have her hair grow out, or cut more off to make it more even. Cutting more layers makes it even more thinner!! I kept saying how it doesn't even come close to the picture, and how she can't even put it in a ponytail because of the really bad haircut. They just didn't care, they still wanted me to pay for the shitty haircut. She said it's normally $35 but she'll take $10 off the price. I should pay nothing since it looks horrible, and my daughter and I are really not happy with the result!!! But she still wanted me to pay, so I said I'll pay $20 and that's it!! I have been here a few times and the service was always great, i always got the same girl to cut my hair, the last time I went i was told there was only 1 person available, i went in with my girlfriend who sat there with me while it got cut. The greater/frount desk person sat there talking to the girl cutting my hair the entire time, the hairdresser wouldnt listen to me at all, and every time she asked if that a good length and i agreed she would continue to cut, when my gf said something she said it looked fine but i told her she was cutting too much off, she then put her glasses on and said that it was fine... That was my breaking point, if you cant see with out glasses dont cut my hair with out them!! After she washed my hair (which she told me to dry it myself) she then decided to thin my hair, thus she ended up cutting more off. When she tried to style my hair and the gel wouldnt hold since she cut way to much off. When I told her to stop and just let me see if i can fix it with the gel since at that point she was pulling my hair pretty much, they called over the girl who normally cuts my hair and i told her what happend, she told the other woman that she cut too much off and it cant be styled. I was pissed, when it came time to pay the sign was $20 thats what i always paid but then the girl at the frount said it was $30 cuz the woman who (fucked up my hair) "cut" my hair was a senior hairdresser, which i was not informed of at all. i told her im not paying AT ALL since what they did to my hair, She then started cussing me out, yelling and making a scene (this is all happening in the middle of a mall packed with people) i told her you sat there and distracted the hair dresser, she wouldnt listen to me, cut way too much off, and I wasnt happy with the service. She then started yelling at other workers saying how im an asshole and someone better call the owner before she calls security. After she "called" both she told me to leave, while i was walking away she told me to never come back and that i was a "cheap motherfucker" and then went on to say something about my gf, I called the owner myself and complained but he didnt care. read more

I don't normally take the time to write a review on a place - but Total Image a few times now over the last months has gone above and beyond for me! Especially stylist Krystina! I use to have to drive downtown to a blonde specialist to get that platinum blonde/silver look and paid an arm an a leg! I was in a jam and Krystina took me on last minute once, I never returned downtown again! Total Image is located in my favorite uoscale mall - Sherway Gardens so win win! Their salon suites the mall well! Best treatment from staff, best espresso while you wait and best hair massage/wash I ever had! Thank you Krystina I get compliments all the time! Do NOT go here unless you want to be yelled at by the owner/manager and have your hair destroyed!!! It was my birthday last week and I decided to get my hair done before the weekend. I visited the salon on June 1. The stylist began colouring my hair and I thought everything was fine. I already had highlights in so I just asked if she could freshen them up and cut my hair. When it came time to reveal the colour she has dyed almost my entire head bleach blonde! FAR FAR from what I had asked. To top that off, it was botched and spotty and the cut was uneven and terrible. I was horrified. The owner told me it must have been a miscommunication which it was not. I left in tears and the owner told me to come back the next day and HE would fix it for me. I decided I would come back and allow them to fix it since they had already spent so much time on me and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I arrived June 2 and as I sat down, he told me he was passing me off to another girl as he was too busy (which really meant he was standing around, talking to clients, laughing, having a coffee, very "busy"). The girl who did my hair was a lot better but had to re-dye my hair and basically made it look the way I had it before ever entering the store so there was no point of even going in the first place. After this whole traumatic experience was done and she had cut my hair even shorter in order to fix the problem, I went to the cash to pay. I asked the owner if there was something he could do for me in the form of a discount for all of my trouble (an additional 4 hours at the salon, 2 dye jobs later, and an additional 1 hour drive to come back due to the salons horrible mistake). He looked at me, and said "are you kidding me". I tried to explain why I thought I deserved a discount or compensation and I was willing to pay more than 75% of the total cost, but instead of explaining why he didn't want to give the discount or discussing it with me like a normal person would to any customer, he shouted at me "get out of here - I don't want your money... your a disgusting human!". My girlfriend and I were in shock and just walked away to avoid any further conflict. I have never been so mistreated and traumatized in my life, and all because I wanted to get my hair done for my birthday. Please go anywhere else in the mall. Like he said, he doesn't need your money and it would be better spent ANYWHERE ELSE. You will thank me later. read more

She took her time and managed to fix a very bad haircut that I had gotten elsewhere. I rarely write reviews and I had to take the time to come on here and shoutout to Dorie at Total Image. I wish I had a before and after picture of my hair but I basically went from a multicoloured damaged and brutally fried and broken bleached hair mess and she brought it back to life. She treated it and took out the nasty brassy red tones and evened out the colour, she cut off a ton of hair to even it out but gave me a good cut that I could live with while preserving as much of my hair and removing as much damage as possible. She is truly skilled. She was warm and listened to everything I wanted and she just knew what to do. I NEVER trust going to hair salons because of what happened to my hair before but now I will always go to Dorie From now on! She's amazing. read more

I've been coming here for the past 10years off and on, service was decent at the time, not sure what happened now... My last 2 encounters. I went in for colour and trim, I Showed the lady a picture of what I wanted so it wasn't too difficult for them to understand, incase I wasn't describing myself enough. I was there for well over 3 hours and my hair came out nothing like the picture I showed her and instead of a trim,she cut off 3inches... I looked like the sun exploded on top of my head!!!!!! that's know bright it was and my hair that was about midback is now way shorter then I asked.... Ridiculous!! Anyways, Went back to ask them to fix it a 2 days later and was told it would cost me $20, another lady took me in and added a darker tint and when I went to pay she charged me $50... Don't go there even if this was the last place on Earth to get a haircut!!! I went in with beautiful long hair to get colour and layers. Came out with black, instead of mid-brown hair, cut just to cover my ears. I want to cry, this is the worst haircut I had in 20 years. I only came in because they had time right away, I should have waited for an appointment at a regular salon. Save your money, you'll get a better haircut for $15 at First Choice Haircutters or Magicuts, where I take my kids. I need to look like a professional, not like I stock shelves at Walmart. It cost me almost $120 and I will have to pay at least as much to get it fixed, not to mention that no one can give me back the beautiful length, it will take months to grow back. I am totally ashamed of what is on my head, I think it resembles a very bad copy of the cut from the main female character form Top Gun. Yes, I look like I walked out of the 1980's. I washed it three times now, but it still has layers of different colours, mostly black, but definitely places where the colour didn't catch well. It's not even close to the colour it was supposed to be, I never had a problem at any other salon before, so it's not due to my hair. I used to go to the Oakville location, which was fine, but this location gives all Total Image places a very, very bad name.
