What they said they would do would have been great but what they actually did was something less. Not a bad job but not a good job either. We only had our gravel driveway re-graveled and they worked quickly but the surface they laid is thin, maybe an inch-and-a-half of new gravel. Looks good today, probably will last three months if we're lucky. The kicker though was when he came back to be paid. He was trying to upsell me to asphalt paving of course, something we're going to do eventually, and after he quoted me a too-high asphalt price he told me the agreed-upon cost of the re-graveling only included "this part from here to the road but we went ahead and did this other part in front of the garage so we'll have to charge you more for that", which was horse-poop. So I paid him the originally agreed-upon cost, thanked him, and told him to go. Bottom line: shady as heck and a bare-bones job.

They came and gave me an estimate, and then they came to pick up my check for the deposit on Saturday. The owner said they would come to do the work on Tuesday or Wednesday. They never showed up, and I tried to contact the owner four times - once on his cell & three times through his office & he never returned my calls. So I put a stop on the check for the deposit. The following Monday he called me and wanted to know why he wasn't able to cash the check, and I said because he took my check, never gave me a receipt, and wouldn't return my calls. He claimed that he never got my messages and blamed it on the girl in the office. Even though I also left voicemail on his personal cell phone. I have no time to deal with people who don't know how to run a business properly. It only takes a minute to make a phone call to reach out to somebody and let them know the status of the job. If he called and explained that they were delayed and wouldn't be coming on the scheduled day, I would have understood. But to take a check from somebody for $1750 , not give them a receipt,and not return phone calls is very unprofessional.
