I should have read these reviews before I hired this company. Like some of the other reviews here, I hired Total Pest Services to complete a pest inspection required by my lender before closing on a new home after the appraiser noted some possible wood-destroying insect activity in the attic. After receiving the report from Total Pest Services, which said there were no live insects, our lender noticed the inspection report failed to mention anything specifically about the attic. When we called Total Pest Services to follow-up, they said they didn't even go to the attic despite it being accessible via a staircase on the second because they might fall through the ceiling (please note, the attic is semi-finished with a wood floor, no risk of failing through). They didn't even try and assess whether the attic was accessible. We had another company go out who found obvious live wood-destroying activity in the basement, where they supposedly checked, and in the attic, where they did not check. Luckily, we found this before we closed on the new home and were able to get the sellers to pay for treatment. However, I've been entirely unsuccessful in getting Total Pest Services to refund me for their incomplete and inadequate inspection. They've stopped responding to my emails. So new home buyers, do yourself a big favor, and don't hire Total Pest Services. read more

I had a different pest company for the last three years and recently I had a major invasion of mice and rats. I believe squirrels too. It was upsetting because what was I paying the pest company for?!?? Even worse, I lost vacation rental income as I had to clear the schedule until this issue was resolved. Anyways I called Total Pest as a recommendation from Facebook and I was not disappointed. They came out quickly and remediated the issue. The enclosed any holes they could find, put a cover on a vent and put down new traps. They even put these MEGA traps outside the home near the old entry points. I was impressed. They also cleaned up the infested areas. They took about 2 hours to do this and were wearing hazmat suits and everything. Thank goodness for them. read more

Checked my foundation for termites without me being there to verify. Showed my wife, who needs glasses to view things up close, that there was a worker termite. After further examination from myself( who is is in construction industry), I did not see any sign of termite infestation. I think it is a scam to spend 1,200 to 1700 on something that is not necessary. read more

I normally dont write bad reviews, but now that im a home owner and pay a lot of money for mistakes, reliable companies shouldn't be making. I'd love to save the next person. As in previous reviews, that are rated 1 star. i also had a new home owner inspection done with this company. Long story short, they did not do the job i hired and paid them for. I today had to pay another company to come out and tell me termites have been a problem in my home before, and this company not only missed it but missed OBVIOUS signs. I have pin holes all throughout the back side of my house which im told is from a certain type of termite and it is not old, i also was told the obvious wood damage on the back end of my house that i was told was only "water damage" is from termites.... termites love damp water. Why and how was this missed? i have no prior knowledge of termites, nor do i know what to look for, but if i pay a company to inspect, i better actually get a valid inspection. im the type i would rather pay the above price for quality work. which this was not. i do not recommend using this company if they can miss that obvious of an issue. i highly recommend using another company, considering termites are no joke. read more

I have never had a bad experience with these guys. If the lady with termites had termites in obvious places these guys would have found it quickly and taken care of it. Mike is extremely ethical and would not have allowed anyone to pay him off. Termites are not easy to get rid of and it takes more than one treatment. If the first owners only paid for one treatment then it should have been taken up at closing after your walk through when you would have seen them in the obvious places. Mike and his workers always took great care to do a thorough job at my homes and at my mothers. We had issues with birds building nests in vents, they came and took care of it. A cat crawled under my moms house and died, they came and took care of it. Snakes? They take care of it. Awesome company all the way around. read more

Reported to BBB for misrepresentation and fraud. When buying a new house, the previous seller used this company to complete a Wood Destroying Insect report, which is mandatory when selling a house. The owner of Total Pest Services signed the WDI report saying there was no sign of termites. When we looked, two weeks later, we found termites in FOUR obvious places. I'm not sure if the sellers knew or paid off the owner, but it is extremely disappointing to buy a house under the assumption that there were no termites, only to find out there are several, long term termite nests. I can't understand how a "professional" would miss so many obvious signs. We will never use this company, and suggest everyone else to find a more reputable one. read more

I am also a realtor and can honestly say he has the lowest prices and best quality service around. I can also state that I came to use this company as a coworker of mine was told that a house she had listed had active termites, remediation of which was going to be in the thousands. I recently purchased a home and the termite report I rec'd was signed off by Mike Strawderman (the owner) stating there was no evidence of wood destroying insects. This was completed on 04/07/2015 and we closed on the house 04/17/2015 (just TEN days later). I had another pest control come out to spray for insects the day after closing and the VERY first thing he said to me was we had termites. He simply lifted a stepping stone near the side of the house and BAM there they were. When we called him, we were told he would investigate and hung up. Needless to say, we have never heard back from him. Had he found this when he should have, the seller would have paid for the treatment versus me having to fork out the money. I would NEVER recommend using this company because everything on your report will be marked"only visible access" and obvious signs of termites will go unnoticed. read more
