Then rather condescendingly suggested I had relationship issues and provided me a phone number for a career tech school. I have a bachelors degree and 25 year career in my field, but she never asked. I kindly replied that I have my own therapist I trust for many years and wasn't there for her counseling, to which she replied to the effect of "lot of good that's doing". When I tried explaining some of my own physicians diagnosis which could've helped her better understand the real situation she couldn't care less. I've never once met a professional therapist or family counselor who would dare invite an outside person into someone else's session, analyze and provide them advice in one session while knowing almost nothing about them and certainly would not recommend this doctor to anyone in need of professional counseling or therapy. It's taken me…read morea little bit of time to write this review because it's such a difficult experience to put into words. Bear with me guys. This is going to be a long review but one I feel like really needs to be explained in detail. Right before hurricane Irma hit south Florida, I had my first panic attack that I had ever had in my life. It was debilitating. I had never had anxiety or had never experienced panic attacks in my life so I had no idea what I was dealing with. After a couple hospital visits, I was prescribed medication which I took only for a couple days and which brought me no relief. I continuously had panic attacks that would randomly occur in my day to day life. Some hours I would be fine and other hours I would be shaking uncontrollably, curled up feeling like my insides were going to explode. My primary care physician (who is no longer my primary care physician) diagnosed me with severe ptsd and anxiety and referred me to a psychotherapist who basically taught me breathing exercises and told me to channel happy images and find hobbies to keep me occupied, none of which helped in the least. She and my doctor both told me I needed pills to help me and I refused. There had to be another way! After I tried a holistic approach with another therapist, I finally found Viktoriya. I was about 3-4 months into having severe anxiety and having panic attacks still with really bad physical symptoms all the time. I was falling farther into depression, another thing I had never really experienced. I had to find someone to help me, and fast. I decided to take a chance and reach out to Viktoriya after numerous lengthy discussions with Molly S, who wrote a review of Viktoriya as well. After Viktoriya's first discussion with me over the phone, I honestly didn't expect much. I expected basically to get nowhere again. I asked all the basic questions of how much it would cost and how many sessions it would take until I could be cured. She told me there was no cure and no one could get rid of anxiety because it's supposed to be part of it. That only made me feel worse but only because I didn't understand what she meant. In my initial visit, I knew Viktoriya was different. She listened but she didn't really focus on my past. She just wanted me to move forward. She is young but so knowledgable and really easy to relate to. She has a very easy going nature that puts you at ease but she is there to work with you to help you get through the rough times. In that first session, she was able to quantify all the things we would work on during our relationship. In the following sessions, which occurred twice a week at first then once a week then once every other week and finally once a month, she taught me techniques to embrace my fears in life, to be a more rational and logical thinker, and to even accept my anxiety, therefore learning to be stronger. She gives it homework during every session and you have to put in the effort to feel better. Yes I still have moments of anxious thought but I can now get through them extremely quickly with the mental reasoning techniques Viktoriya showed me. Yes I still have fears in life but I don't let them stop me from living. I am much more self aware now, especially conscious of the thoughts I have throughout each day and I can identify if each thought is one I want to keep or one I want to change. This is definitely a long work in progress but I now have the tools to help me along the way. I am so glad I took a chance with Viktoriya and I hope you will too. The prices are a little steep because she doesn't take insurance but honestly your mental health is worth every penny. It controls the rest of your life and it needs to be maintained. She made me realize so much about how I live my life and handle my day to day situations that I really even recommend her for self improvement without anxiety issues. He was giving me a lot of information quickly and we were starting to run over time although I still had some questions. He told me his wife runs the logistics, and she would call me to follow up about everything. A week went by, and I hadn't heard anything. I started to do the exercises he gave me, but still wanted to clarify some things. So I decided to call the contact number on the website. She answered sort of annoyed and confused as to why I was calling her. I tried to explain and ask some questions - but she sort of cut me off and didn't answer of them just asked when I wanted to book to come in. I told her, well let me do the exercises for a few weeks and then I will call back to book a follow up - Figuring I will just have to ask my questions when i see him. The exercises were helping, so I did call back, no answer, I left a voicemail, reminding her that we spoke before, and I just wanted to come back in. A week goes by, no response. Another week goes by. So the only other way to contact them is an email address, so I send an appointment request through there as well. And still a week goes by, nothing. I search and search for another way to contact them, there isn't one. A few more weeks go by and so I try again - called the number again, left a voicemail, again. Nothing. It is very disappointing, as I liked what Robert had to say and he did insist that I come back to see him and I was eager to, as the exercises had provided me with relief and I thought I finally had found a decent person to help with my chronic pain. At this center, patients get one-on-one personal care/attention with the therapists. Unlike other clinics, OTC is patient-happiness driven. The staff truly do care and want the patient to make progress and improve their quality of life.
