They have multiple treatment rooms, a multi sensory room and and large gym. The therapists work hard to get to really know your child and target their needs and strengths. Communication between staff and family is great and they are open to discussing different treatment options and goals. They are also willing to work with the school and IEP teams. I started working on my accent with Annie about 4 months ago. I've worked with other language…read morecoaches before but have found Annie's approach to be more effective and sustainable long-term. In this short time we've worked on my Ts, Zs, Vs, and all the vowels, which are the hardest for me. During our session yesterday we went all the way back to the beginning of our google document and I was surprised by how easily I could differentiate all the vowels. I read the old word lists again and Annie just kept saying 'great' because I had mastered all of those. I was amazed by my progress in this short time. Annie is also just a delight to work with. She's a true pro when it comes to language for sure but what I find equally important is her encouraging, joyful and kind nature. I highly recommend her.

Life Changing! This was our first year at Oakwood, and despite COVID, it was by far the best year…read moreof school that my daughter has ever had. She thrived academically, emotionally and socially. She now loves to read and write stories, and she is happy to do her homework everyday, with out any prodding from me. Best of all, she now believes in herself and her ability to learn. They handled the distance learning brought on by COVID beautifully, and she was able to keep learning and engaging with her class and teachers all the way through the end of school. Oakwood school's owners and staff have been wonderful throughout my education. Had it not been for Oakwood School I would have never been able to graduate from High School and graduate from Northern Va Community College with an Associates degree of science with a Major in General Studies.
