Omg the best Eye Doc something that stood out to me she said , I'm going to check your vision and the health of your eye ! I've taken my dad to many eye doctors and never have I heard one say that , he has been having issues with cataracts but they would all say it was too soon for surgery, she said he needed surgery as soon as possible. This is probably the best optometrist I've gone to. Annelisa at the front desk was so kind with checking me in very quickly and efficiently Dr. Marisol Hernandez-Sanchez treated me so well and really understood my issues and actually discovered that it wasn't my prescription that was bad unlike the previous doctors I had seen and that it was actually a problem with my eyes not focusing. Lastly when it came to picking out my glasses Jessica was super kind and helpful in choosing which frames fit me best, gave me time to decide, and gave her honest opinions which had me pick the perfect frames!! Went in today looking only for glasses. Was told it's against their Hippa rules to allow photos to be taken while trying on the frames! WTH? Then my roommate, who by the way recommended the place, told me that they told her it was perfectly fine for her to take pics of herself. Also they told me to make sure to request that they "unlock" you from the system at any location you go to. That was nice of her to mention, except she didn't do it! If you have VSP, go elsewhere as they are out of network so it'll cost you more! read more

I'm wondering why is treating you guys' customers like they're stupid or unreasonable? She clearly needs some coaching on how to interact with patients and how to deal with her inner emotions. Or perhaps she hates her job, and maybe not getting paid well. Anyways, administration please talk to her because she's not making a good image of your practice. From glasses to lenses at my age was a scary change but I needed to do something different with my active lifestyle after an eight-hour day in front of a computer. The entire process was organized and smooth. Dr. Keltner was terrific and patient after I informed her that my prescription was good for this but not that. She sent me on my way with another prescription to test. A doctor of very few words but do know, she is listening! Lol. Jesyka was extremely patient and caring. I was undecided and confused about 2 different prescriptions. She took the time to help me understand the difference and even offered to specialize my order which made my whole transition to contact lenses that much easier. She is the reason I will be referring my friends and family to and why I wrote this review. Mayra who handles the insurance, is extremely throughout with your benefits. Routine eye exam. Expect to wait At least 30min from appointment time to get your exam started. Very slow moving clinic. The entire process took a total of 1hr 6 mins. Not a terrible experience. It just shouldn't have taken this long. Also, the equipment where you put your face on during the exam is not clean and has marks of make up from previous users. That part was disgusting. They should at least wipe it. Absolutely never coming back here. read more

I'm only leaving 3 stars because of the receptionist. The doctor and the girl who helped me pick out my glasses were awesome! The receptionist on the other hand needs to screen her calls better. As someone who works in the customer service field I understand customers and patients can get out of hand at times but the experience I had over the phone was just like a "WTH" moment. So, I had received a voicemail saying my glasses were ready and if I had any questions to call the office. I called and let the receptionist know I received the voicemail about the glasses being ready. She said "Ok, how can I help you?" So I thought ok maybe she didn't hear me. I again repeated myself and she said "Ok, I'm trying to figure out how to help you? Do you want me to double check if they're here?" She was very condescending on the phone and I said "Idk what your process is? When a patient calls in about their prescription what's your next step? Do I just walk in? Do I need an appointment? " Then she says "Let me double check if they're here" puts me on hold then says you can pick them up and no need for appointment. After I hung up with her I was like why didn't she just say that in the first place instead going back and forth about how she can help me? I gave her the reason for my call and a light bulb should've went on in her head and what she should've said was "Ok, what is your first and last name? I'm going to place you on a brief hold and check on that for you" Whoever her supervisor is needs to listen to her calls and give her a call script. read more

Every opportunity I've taken to use Dr. Keltner's services has always been fantastic. From the reception services, exam, and lens and frame selection - every part of this groups services would get a 5 out of 5 from me. Dr. Keltner took her time with my two small children, who both have marked communications disabilities for their first eye exams, which was a fantastic experience - especially for this anxious Mama. If I could, I would give a 10 to the sweet gal who helped with my pricing decisions, and frame choices (I can't believe I don't remember her name!). I was referred to Dr. Lisa Keltner by a local ophthalmologist and was excited that she was within a few blocks from my house. I encountered a few sales issues upon my first visit. But, I feel that when a business owner becomes aware of a situation he/she was not aware of and is willing to correct/make good/have a coaching moment to better their business establishment that that business deserves a second review of acknowledgement. So in all fairness to Dr. Keltner I will only review my visit today. The office waiting room area was full and appeared clean. The staff took my temperature (for Covid-19). Masks were required and chairs were turned around to envoke social distancing. The receptionist was nice, acknowledging my presence and saying she will be right with me. I was third in line. The wait time was minimal. The assistant that took my wall vision test was so personable. I felt she listened to all my concerns all the while taking her notes in my chart. I immediately had a warm fuzzy feeling from the moment Dr. Keltner walked in and introduced herself. She has a calm, assuring, caring bedside manner. When I asked her how long she had been doing this, she lightheartedly said "forever". She was not kidding. I could see her years of dedication to her chosen profession in her detailed explanation of my eyesight. She discussed various options that may work for my daily home duties vs. my daily employment duties. In addition as a Scuba Diver I needed a prescription to fulfill my diving needs (seeing a shark in the distance and reading my gauges up close). Dr. Keltner was so very knowledgeable with these different options and helped me decide what would be to my greatest advantage. I left her office today feeling like I found a lifelong Optometrist. I hope Dr. Keltner finds a permanent home at this Riverside office. read more

Was nervous about going. This was my first time. Dr. Keltner was wonderful. Very thorough examination and took her time explaining about the floaters I have.. The staff was excellent, helping me chose frames that fit and look great but the best of all was that both pairs of glasses I ordered were perfect. I put them on and the only adjustment was to tighten the frame around the ear slightly. I have never has such courteous, helpful service. Highly recommend. read more

The last time I was there around 2015, I was visually impaired, and these people tricked me into getting glasses that were stronger than my actualvision strength. I only realizedthis when i went to a more trust worthy optometrist. I was very short sighted before visual impairment so whether they (Riverside Optometry) took advantage of that, I don't know. If you have low vision or visually impaired, do not go to these people. read more

Thanks especially to Dr.Davidson, Dr.Rocha for her transition, as well as Myra for her great skill set and the great support staff. They utilized new and old school techniques to prescribe four pairs of glasses for my right (slightly crossed and angled eye). This is the second time I come in for new glasses prescription. The front staff are very friendly and the Doctor she awesome. The only thing I'm giving 2 star is the lady that takes the order for your new glasses. She is very rude, not willing to offer any kind of options. My first experience at this office was awesome. Several years ago they were accommodating and helpful. However, now the attitude amongst the admin staff has just ruined this place for me. It started with little things like not being able to answer a quick phone call in the waiting area (they asked me to go outside, even though I was the only one in the office) and it has progressed to an attitude of complete apathy. Most recently, my wife took my kids here and made some specific requests about their prescriptions. The staff wasn't helpful and was completely apathetic to her requests. Overall the customer service was not good. Needless to say, I will be moving my business to another Optometrist. read more

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Davidson at Riverside Optometry for close to 20 years. Now that Dr. Davidson is out of state we had our first visit with Dr. Keltner and she was thorough and just as attentive and caring. Her staff is wonderful and very helpful. On a recent visit, Clari, went out of her way to help me with my new glasses due to my physical disability by even bringing them to my car!! I followed up on her request and found out that if this hadn't been discovered by her my husband would probably be blind in five years. My mom was referred there by her doctor and it was a little out of our way so I pushed out the appointment till I had the day off to drive her out there, and I wish I would have taken her sooner. They made her feel comfortable and more important they helped her understand what was going on with her vision. After spending a lot of money on contact lenses and having problems, we realized that they made a mistake on the prescription. They admitted the mistake was their's and still refused to take them back or offer a refund. Again, their mistake. They admitted to the mistake and still refused to make it right. This review has been long overdue. I have put it off because I really like Dr. Akamine Davidson personally. I have been coming to Dr. Akamine Davidson for about 15 years. She is an excellent eye doctor, but I believe she must be going into retirement. She isn't working as many hours now and doesn't take late appointments now. She has some other doctor working there as her replacement. I have only experienced the other doctor once while Dr. Akamine Davidson was on vacation. She was 'okay," nothing like Dr. Akamine Davidson. Dr. Akamine Davidson is very thorough with her exams and will explain all your options. This other doctor doesn't have the same "bedside manner" so to speak. She just rushed me in and out. My two stars are for Dr. Akamine Davidson. Another problem is the office staff over the last few years. She use to have great office staff that was personable and acted like they enjoyed working there. The staff she has now is not accommodating at all. You cannot order contacts over the phone with the people that answers the phone. They *always* have to call you back. This is really inconvenient if you work in a profession when you can't answer the phone for a call back. Also, the ladies that work with you in selecting your eye glasses have zero personalities. They go through the motions and that is about it. Her old staff that helped in this area was fun and customer service oriented. The staff back there now are just collecting a paycheck. Another issue is if you are close to your yearly eye exam time, they will not let you order contacts. You must come in for an appointment first. That is fine if they would keep their appointments, but sometimes they call and cancel your appointment at the last minute, then you are screwed and out of contacts. All this adds up to finding another eye doctor which is pretty easy. read more

As a first time patient I love the facility, it's very nice & very clean. I notice the parking lot has narrow space but it's all good. The staff & the doctor will really take good care of you. My only personal disappointment is the way they conducted their business with me -it is "PROFIT FIRST over my well being " I purchased 2 pairs of glasses. I've made partial payment and am very aware I have remaining balance. This business already received payments from me & my insurance that would have covered the cost of pair # 1. I don't understand why they won't release pair # 1 to me when it's already paid for. I wasn't even demanding to let me have BOTH pairs but just the one that's been paid for. I of course will continue to partial pay until the balance is complete but I don't really think they care about me as a patient. So sad. read more

I was a little apprehensive on switching over to Dr.Keltner since my previous eye doctor is in Santa Clarita which I adored. I recently had to make the move to her since I moved to Riverside. Quickly made an appointment and got a same day appointment!! Came in and staff was very friendly. Seeing doctor Keltner, very professional and attentive of my needs as patient. Usually doctors like to speed up to get to the next patient. Selecting frames was an amazing experience the ladies in the back section with the frames were very nice and catered to my likings. Absolutely terrible experience with this optometrist. My wife, who is 3 months pregnant, went in for a first time exam as we are new to the area and was given a bad prescription for her glasses. On top of that, they tried to charge her a ridiculously high additional fee for a contact fitting that is free at most other optometrists. When asked why the bad glasses prescription was given, we were told to just wait and see if her eyes adjust to it in an extremely rude manner. Be warned and stay away! They will try and rip you off. read more

This culminated in the front desk staff lying about processing a critical referral - and ultimately saying no to doing so.
