I was looking for an optometrist who could help my daughter with the new Stellest glasses to slow her myopia progression. The office had state of the art technology and my daughter had an extremely thorough eye exam. They had a huge selection of frames (even for kids)! She was allowed to try on frame after frame before finding the best fitting pair. Skylar, the optician, then meticulously adjusted again and again, until the best fit was obtained. "I had a frustrating experience here due to miscommunication. I asked when I brought my son if I could bring my son's frames to get lenses without him being present, and I was told yes. When I arrived, they informed me that my son needed to be there for measurements, which was never mentioned before. I ended up wasting a trip because of this. I understand measurements are important, but this should have been clearly explained ahead of time. Hoping they improve their communication so others don't run into the same issue. read more

I had a medical eye emergency and Bright Vision took me same day. It ended up being something I needed eye drops for and Dr Hsu was awesome and so thorough. I did have to come back 4 visits for a check in but I think they just wanted to make sure my eye ulcer was getting smaller. Although I found and others I told found that 4 extra visits was way too much. Especially when they need to charge my insurance each visit and I have to pay a copay for a 5 min visit. Each doctor I saw, 2 different ones and Dr Hsu, did care and were there to answer my questions. The eye specialists are so nice too. I would recommend this location if you don't might an expensive eye doctor. read more

My last eye exam was 2002 with an optometrist who is no longer in business (or has relocated?). I've had my prescription glasses since 2001. I had the same prescription for 24 years, however, my prescription is light and I don't always wear them (only for driving when I need to read street signs). I recently made an appointment with Bright Vision and saw Dr. Kim. While I did need new glasses (my old pair was in decent shape but did show signs of age) and my vision hasn't changed very much during all these years, I did mention that my sight may have slightly changed (I can read normal print on paper, but had a hard time reading very fine print on bottle labels). I also expressed my concerns for astigmatism-light sensitivity (which I did not have 20+ years ago). Dr. Kim confirmed this for me and recommended a prescription for this which means a special coating on your glasses. This is a separate thing from your standard prescription if your vision is not 20/20 without corrective lenses. Dr. Kim and staff were friendly, professional and informative. read more

The place is nice, modern, polished, spacious and clean! I was able to easily schedule my appointment online for my yearly checkup. They also sent me a wuick questionnaire to fill out beforehand. I arrived for my appointment and was instantly taken to the back for my checkup. Everything was done quickly and painlessly. No eye puffs or dilated pupils. I liked being able to see the image results from my doctor at the end of my checkup. Everything was taken care of in an efficient manner. I was done with my appointment in 20-25 minutes. Dr. Hsu was warm, professional, and knowledgeable. They have a lovely display of glasses. The sales lady was very helpful in assisting me with choosing my frames. She was very stylish so I trusted her judgment. She even took pictures of me from a side angle so I could make a better informed decision. I can be very indecisive and she helped me pick the ones that were more in style currently. I was happy with my choice and she even offered to make a note of the other classic looking ones I was looking at for next year's annual checkup if I'm still interested. The only thing I didn't like was that I felt pressured to add the extras, but my prescription is so minimal, I didn't feel the need to spend extra. It might have been a language barrier but I asked if the add ons were necessary and she told me that they were, but when I mentioned that the last place I went to I was able to purchase glasses without having to do all that and my insurance was the same, she told me it was fine and that if I insisted on not getting those add ons, I didn't have to pay for them. I am still happy with my experience here. I just need to make sure I am clear about what I am willing and not willing to pay for from the get-go, so there's no misunderstanding or a feeling of time being wasted. Dr. Hsu and her staff are superb. The practice has state of the art equipment (Zeiss) and is designed in a very modern, clean and impressive health care facility. The selection of frames are all very chic and fashion forward and the staff have always been excellent in assisting me with choosing a frame shape that matches my face shape, as well as taking into account the strength of my prescription. As a health care provider myself, I can truly appreciate the care and attention to detail that Drs. Hsu and Soong have put into creating this practice. Unlike many practices that have unclear goals, Bright Vision Optometry has a very clear and laser focused goal... which is to provide their patients with the absolute best vision. They have spared no expense to purchase the best equipment to accomplish this task, and also spend the appropriate amount of time with each patient to obtain the best testing results. I used Yelp to find the best places and came across Bright Vision in Chino Hills. I am about 25 mins away but good reviews, extended hours and weekends are what hooked me. Office: Immaculate, everything from decor to cleanliness and state of the art equipment. Staff: Bubbly, warm, welcoming and very helpful. Provider: Dr Steven Soong, should be giving lessons on how to meet your patient's needs! The most laidback, yet incredibly professional person I have ever met. For him, it's not just about the eye exam, but genuinely the entire experience. He truly cares about you, your kids, and your eye health. He is very patient, inclusive when it comes to goals with your vision and ensures throughout the visit, you understand the treatment plan and are comfortable with it. We shared stories, and laughs which helped him be relatable. As someone who has worked in healthcare for 20 years, this type of persona in a provider is very hard to come by. After 3 months of having new glasses, my daughter's vision got worse. I called the office and the girl who answered the phone, Diana, was very rude, arrogant, and patronizing. She constantly cut me off and refused to listen. She gatekept us from making an appointment with Dr. Soong, and blamed my daughter for having a medical condition. She insisted on either paying $160 for a new exam or going to our family doctor for a referral to a specialist. After 20 minutes of angrily going back and forth, she eventually said it costs $50 for a reexamination with Dr. Soong, which could be waived by him, since my daughter's prescription was more than 2 months old. So, we have decided to go to an eye specialist instead. Looking back last year, when my husband was there for his eye exam, he did not purchase his glasses from there. He bought them from Costco instead (he likes the titanium light frame at Costco). The same girl printed out his old prescription from 2 years ago. My husband did not know that, so he went to Costco and ordered a pair of glasses. After weeks, he could not see things well. Costco checked for him and said that he was using the old prescription from 2 years ago. We had to go back to Bright Vision for a recent prescription to be printed out, and they did not even apologize, just said they did not know who did that. Luckily, Costco was nice enough to give us a new pair of glasses without paying anything. Anyway, my family won't come back to this office since the admin is bad. The girl at the front desk who answered the phone gatekept us from talking to the doctors. Not only that, she looked down on us just because we did not purchase any glasses from them, and refused to pay an unnecessary new fee instead of a reexamination (only 3 months). We know money is important for any business to survive, but wouldn't unreasonably pressing on it destroy the reputation and integrity of a good doctor behind the administration? read more

I took a shot in the dark with Bright Vision Optometry. My previous optometrist of 7 years was having issues getting appointments addressed, and I was really getting desperate to get my contacts supply refilled. I happened on Bright Vision on my visits to the Omomo and 99 Ranch that they share a plaza with, and I'm glad I did. The entire team really takes care to explain everything that they're testing for, they're absolutely transparent in the cost and coverage that I currently have. Dr. Steven was an absolute great doctor! He really kept it lively while also addressing all my concerns, answering all of my questions, and really working to make sure I was walking out of there with no outstanding problems. But it didn't end there. Diana helped me wrap up my contacts supply. She looped me in to a rebate that I was eligible fr that I never heard of, and she was just a pleasure to laugh and talk with. My wife and I both had eye exams on Friday, March 28, 2025. They quoted us a price of $316 for both eye exams and our new glasses that would be available in 2-3 weeks. I paid with my credit card and everything was good. On Saturday, March 29, I got a call indicating that they failed to charge each of us an additional $80 or $160 for both for something that they overlooked. I feel that this was very unprofessional and once we walked out of the office they should have honored the price and absorbed the additional cost !!!!! It is their responsibility to ensure that they go over the invoice and quote anyone and everyone the right price... use caution if going to this business establishment ....... read more

Dr. Soong is wonderful! He is so good with kids. I have 2 kids, 1 with lots of special needs and he was great with both. He is very personable and very easy going. He makes everyone feel comfortable and at ease. He makes things as fun as possible for the kiddos. I would recommend him to everyone! The office is very clean and spacious.
