I've been here quite a few times and getting pampered isn't so bad here. I only come in for their nail and waxing services, though. They use vegan non-toxic wax and it does the job. There is a complete privacy and their estheticians make me feel comfortable during the services. The nail services are also great. I get my nails trimmed and cleaned regularly by Maria and she handles them well and attends to my nail/skin needs. I don't have complains here and might try a few of the services that are offered here. read more

Disappointed. My 2nd organic shellac manicure experience was pleasant but the polish did not last 2 weeks unlile my first visit. In fact barely 1 week. When I wash my hair in week2 my hair started to get caught in my nails..i.e. Between the nail colour and the nail. I finally decided today it's gotta go and even bought acetone and a removal kit. Turns out I didn't need any of it. I peeled off the polish with my nails. The nail tech in my first trip spent a lot of time perfecting my nails. Likely the additional time gave my nails the opportunity to strengthen the bond of the polish to my nails. read more

I just had a really traumatic waxing experience here. First, I had asked her to leave a landing strip and she said "okay sure" and then proceeded to remove all the hair. After about 30 min of waxing, she suddenly leaves and comes back with another esthetician. Never said anything to me or tell me why another person is coming in. My genitals then becomes a teaching moment while she shows her how to handle it. She didn't say a word to me or really look at me. She just went to work teaching this other esthetician on my body. When I ask what's going on she just says "Oh, it's okay" After finishing the back of the wax, she rubs aloe around on it and then without changing gloves she rubs around my labia. Really unsanitary. I had originally said I wanted a lash tint as well. Once the waxing esthetician leaves I start to get dressed and the other esthetician just walks in and starts talking to me about colours. I'm standing there, underwear in hand, no cover, as she is chatting away. I eventually tell her I'll fore go on the tint and just want to leave. When the front desk woman asks if I want to make an appointment to come back when they have the lash colour in stock I say no, I'm never coming back again. I explain what happened and she wants to get a manager to help make this up to me. She then comes back with both estheticians and the manager. I'm feeling very vulnerable and a little ganged up on. I just asked for a refund which they say they need to contact their rep at Groupon to set up. read more

I first heard of Pure 5 through Groupon, where I bought a shellac mani/pedi combo. I went there two days ago and the aesthetician was very friendly and kind. Very clean and sanitary. They only use organic and vegan products, so you can feel even better about your service. She was very gentle and caring (I have a lot of hang nails) and I was very satisfied with the service. When I went to pay, the receptionist (Helen) told me that new clients get to try each service for 50% off the first time! So today I went to get my eyebrows/upper lip waxed and my eyelashes tinted. Both women were fantastic. The wax was quick and painless and the eyelash tint was very relaxing as she gave me a hand massage while the dye was on my lids. Booking the appointment was super easy (I booked by phone, but you could also do it online). I was randomly assigned to Maria, who did an immaculate job on my manicure and pedicure. She made me feel so comfortable and pampered, and just in general I felt like there was a never dull moment throughout our whole conversation. She is so charismatic and so full of amazing sassy energy, she made me feel like a million bucks by the time I left! I will 100% be back to book another appointment with her! read more

Lucy was a pleasant and professional waxer, never double dipped, made sure I was comfortable and was very quick. The entire studio was clean and welcoming. They use natural baby wipes, Alaska Oceane wax and Burts Bee's talc-free baby powder after the wax (this really impressed me as most salons use talc which is highly carcinogenic when used around the vulva, contributing to ovarian cancer). just left an honest review on groupon since I got an email from groupon to review this place and i get harassed with a paragraph of lies... if a company can't accept feedback from customers how can they ever learn to improve......I simply left a feedback one day ago because I was disappointed in how the nails chipped quickly and how my friend's appointment was cut short and I end up with lots of hateful comments from the company and I did not even mention everything that happened..... to make thing clear when i booked the appointment i asked the receptionist if there was an option for design and she said yes and that we would have the full 2 hours till they close for any design we want. We walked in and we find out that only one girl can do design but since we already booked the appointment we settled for plain colour. I honestly had a decent experience Jessica was very sweet however the 2 girls helping my friends didnt. One of my friends girls rushed her nails because they booked someone's eyelash fill last minute and when she said she didnt like it because it was too clumpy she simply ignored her and went off to her next appointment which is not fair when we were promised the full time till close she spent only 45 mins on her mani pedi before rushing off and if they didnt do that they would not have to stay a few minutes over to fix it after the appointment. My other friends girl kept rejecting all the options my friend wanted therefore making her take a little longer on deciding the colour. Maria also accidentally cut her a few times making her bleed. Note to management: either tell the receptionist to inform your customers better when they book appointments on how much time they get and whether design is included because she has been making empty promises... and when people leave feedback dont harass and belittle people because no one should be threatened for voicing our opinions. I dont think the review i left earlier was that bad and it definitely did not deserve so much hate. I went in because i bought the organic vegan mani/pedi Groupon combo. The place was easy to find and the online booking is amazing. I booked my mani/pedi with Maria. She was very nice and didn't seem to be new to the industry. The entire appointment took 2.5 hours which is longer than expected. The mani/pedi was mediocre over all. The polish is nice and they have a great selection of colours. Unfortunately, Maria snipped too deep into my cuticles, not just once but a total of 3 times. Once on my big toe and once on both hands. In fact, one of the cuts was bleeding quite a bit. Although she sanitized it immediately, I expected her to less reckless and would be more mindful which was unfortunately not the case. She was also rather rough when she exfoliated my legs as it was rather painful. When she was pushing my cuticles back, it was also pretty rough even though I explained that I was in pain yet I did not notice any changes in her technique. And a warning for other users, they do charge $10 for removal if you have gel polish on which I think is really steep especially when most places offer free removal. Maria did not tell me it would cost $10 which is something I would've appreciated. I'm most likely not going to return for the same service but I wouldn't mind trying their RMT. read more

This is one of the only places in Vancouver that offers a vegan, 9-free non-toxic regular and gel polish. Now that they are using madame glam, I love to come to this place and get my mani-pedi. Their new esthetician Ria and Lucy are adorable. Lucy is a super perfectionist professional manicurist. I did my regular mani two weeks ago and my cuticles, nails, and polish are intact. All their products are natural and it is a very relaxing ambient to treat yourself. read more

Two weeks ago I had a Soft Gel Manicure and a regular pedicure at the Total Vitality Centre. Lucy the nail technician told me that my nails would last for at least 3 weeks. The first one fell off on day 10. Today, 2 weeks later 6 nails have fallen off. My pedicure is chipped as well, 3 toe nails have chips already. I called 24 hours ago to let them know what had happened. I was pleasant and polite. I was told that the owner was in a meeting and she would call me back. I'm still waiting for the call. I have had to book an appointment at another nail place to replace the nails that are missing. In fact I will have to have my nails totally redone after 2 weeks. I expected at least, a call back from this place. read more

My RMT was Stephanie and it was not a great massage; she spent 15-20 min of the time stretching me, something I can do on my own. This was my first time visiting pure5 wellness hub. I chose this place mainly because it was close to home and was offering a Groupon. I purchased my Groupon and then booked a regular pedicure using their online booking system. I love that online booking was an option, but unfortunately that was the only thing I loved about my experience with pure5. When I showed up for my appointment I was surprised to see that the nail stations are basically in the reception lobby. When sitting in the pedicure chair you are looking straight at the reception desk, a little strange if you ask me. Ambience is definitely lacking and being so close to the front desk you also get to listen to the phone calls all throughout your appointment. At one point both owners were behind the desk each carrying out a different conversation on the phone. Since they are located by a busy street traffic was also very noisy. It felt like I was getting a pedicure on the bus because of all the talking and noise surrounding me. I was a bit early so I waited until I was greeted by Jessica who would be my esthetician. When I booked online I made an appointment with Cindy so it was also strange that during my appointment time she was doing someone else's nails and I was given a different esthetician. What's the point of letting the client book online with the esthetician of their choice if you get there and end up with someone else? Unlike the other client there I was never offered any tea or water before or during my appointment, a small thing but still a part of the experience. To make a long story short, my 45 min pedi ended up taking 1.5 hours. Jessica was clearly new to nails and it showed in how long the task took. But she showed attention to detail and I appreciate that she didn't rush and do a poor job. I ended up with a couple nips to my cuticles, but otherwise she did a good job. This overall negative review of the business is by no means meant to reflect the work Jessica did as I was satisfied with her work. When I went to pay I opened my Groupon voucher and noticed it was for a Mani/pedi, however when I made the purchase on Groupon the listing simply stated an organic pedicure (the mani/pedi option was sold out) so of course I only booked for a pedicure. I notified the owners at the front desk and the man said something to the woman about how he had already called Groupon about this. That's great....but where does that leave me? I must've purchased the Groupon before the listing was fixed. He tells me that even just the pedicure alone it's still cheaper than full price. Sounds to me like he was trying to get out of this by persuading me not to get the manicure which I had already paid for. They were fully booked for the day and I had recently had a Mani so I didn't need one yet anyways. They made sure to tell me how much of a hassle it would be for them to make this exception and let me come back a different day for the manicure portion. The whole thing made me feel like they were trying to blame me for this error and that they were doing me a favour by letting me get the services I had already paid for. Overall the experience was not up to my standards and as someone who has been to many other salons via Groupon I wouldn't say that I hold super high standards or expect a 5 star experience every time. However, there are so many other options on Groupon and just in general for nail services so I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. I bought a Groupon for 3 manicures and I've had 2 visits. Neither visits were good. The first one I was bleeding on 4 of my fingers where she clipped the skin. The second visit was looooonnnnggggg. What was supposed to be a 40min appointment became an hour and 45 minutes!!! Needless to say I was super late for work! Then on top of that she wanted to send me home with a messy manicure. The other girl had to help her clean it up. I could have done a better manicure myself at home! Then now, not even 3 days into the manicure, it's already chipping. I'm very annoyed to think I've spent 1.75 hours at the salon to only have my manicure last 2.5 days!!! Not impressed at all. read more

So my first Brazilian wax with Maria was great - I was mad I only purchased the single time groupon. A few months later I decided to try the place again (no groupon) and couldn't remember who did my first wax so didn't request anyone I figured it would be fine either way. I'm unsure who did my wax but boy did it not go well. More than double the amount of time should take (I've gotten waxed for the last year consistently) I thought I'd let her take her time so she can do it right - it was done highly uncomfortably as I could tell she was having a hard time - came home to realize it was completely uneven and the worst I've had done before. I had a Groupon to get the false eyelashes set and chose to drive out to this spot 'cause the eyelashes are cruelty free. I had 30 eyelashes put on each eye and was very happy with the outcome. Service was very good and I wasn't treated any different for being from Groupon. I was also able to receive 50% off another service for being a first time customer, so I chose a pedicure for only $20. They were able to fit this in while I was there. Lots of services on offer. I feel like I need to warn other customers about this business. I have been getting lash extensions for over a year and have never had an experience like this. My appointment started off with the tech applying the lash glue remover straight onto my eye -- no protective tape or pad. This caused my eyes to burn and I had to run to the closest sink to rinse them out. Second, she only attached "about 20" lashes despite the website stating 60 per eye will be attached. When I pointed this out, she said they "don't actually count the lashes. But aim for around 20 to 30". When I saw my "finished" lashes in a mirror, I can only describe what I saw. Imagine 20 to 30 tiny, dead, spider legs glued haphazardly onto both your existing eyelashes and onto your lid. Not only did she fail to apply the requisite amount, but applied random lengths and thicknesses. Further, she glued some of the lashes straight onto my lid -- failing to attach them to a natural lash. Lastly, and likely the worst part, she glued upwards of 5 of my natural lashes to one false lash resulting in giant patches developing when they came out. I have never had such an awful experience at a spa/salon in my life. If needed, I have photos. read more

I had an organic manicure there and everything was fine. I was happy with the work and also bought a firming lotion as they offer many products to choose from. I agree with previous poster that the ambience could be better but I like that they offer a range of services and I'm interested to go back and try more of them including the naturopathy. The location is very convenient for me and the fact that they use products with less chemicals is more important to me than sitting beside a waterfall. read more

I purchased a groupon for 1 chic set of eyelash extensions and 1 fill. Although the technician Jessica was very nice and the owner was very accommodating to me when I arrived late, the lashes did not last long at all. I followed the lash care instructions thoroughly (did not get them wet for 24hrs, brushed them gently every morning, no oils or creams near the eye area, didnt let the water run directly on it when showering, etc..). All the lashes fell off within a week. They weren't falling off with my natural lashes either it was the fake lash itself. I could see them falling off when I brushed them gently in the morning. I've had lash extensions in the past and they have always lasted at least 3 weeks. I know there are less lashes applied for the chic look so the lashes may fall off earlier but having them all fall off in a week is too much, if was looking bad 3 days in. This was not worth it at all. I paid for a full set and a fill. I'm not going to bother going for the fill because 1. The lashes are all gone so there is nothing to fill and 2. Even if there were still lashes it is not worth it. They fall off way to fast. Id rather spend more and get them done properly. read more
