This is always a great place for the selection of beer and spirits. The tequila selection in particular is outstanding. The craft beer has several aisles and coolers. They will have some limited beers in one section and then the widely released stuff in two large aisles. Some pretty rare seasonal stuff pops up on a regular basis and they also do the yearly drops of heavily sought after beers. It's one of my go-to places. read more

Sat June 13 "Under the Tuscan Sun" paid tasting event last night. very disappointing! We rushed through all the wines in under an hour. The handout for the wines was all wrong and didn't match the wines we tasted. It was difficult to get the prices of what we were drinking, the names of the grapes, the % alcohol, etc. The presentation didn't flow at all. The sound system was awful & annoying - very hard to hear. When I mentioned to the presenter a few suggestions, he replied "sorry - I have to use the slides that corporate gives me." Other attendees had similar experiences. I can't say I want to go back to this store, or spend my wine money here. read more

Having lived close by to here in a sense one town over, I've never actually stopped in here. The GF wanted to look for a certain type of cup she got from here before so we took a stroll. They really do have everything. There's isles of high end top shelf liquor that i don't see many smaller liquor stores carrying due to the exclusivity or even just the price of them. Total Wine & More has an amazing variety of different liquors. They have a plethora of just about everything! From nips, beers, whiskey, vodka, tequila, sake, coolers, soju, and even soju seltzers!! I love coming here because it has all that I need and even when I'm not looking for anything, I always end up finding something, like a nice pink Brumate shaker, for example. Lots of shakers, gift sets, wine glasses. cups (YETI cups too!), and more. I find that their prices are quite reasonable, as well. read more

I'm a fan (like many others) of buffalo trace bourbon. Lately ive noticed a huge price increase (100%) at my local liquor store. It went from $38ish bottle to $65ish. Nothing happened in the supply chain but popularity and greed in trying to take advantage of it. Total Wine kept its pricing stable and did not raise its price. They did not step on the price and pork the customer just because something got popular. Cudos to total wine and goodbye local liquor store! read more

One guy/worker floating around looked in my cart (which was filled with over $500 worth of merchandise and he saw that I had Teremana Tequila and asked: "Can I get you a different kind of Tequila?" I find their prices quite reasonable. I tend to stock up on wine and booz once every 6 to 9 months, and as big wine drinkers, our orders tend to be quite large. Watch your receipts when you buy plain water from these thieves because they charge a bottle deposit for water. When I noticed, I went back and found 3 other times that I was charged the same deposit. Reported it to them and as told too bad. Then I reported it to the Mass AG office and was told that it wasn't their problem. So, I am warning you to watch you Total Wine receipts for deposits that are not due. Also, if you have been charged deposits for water bottles from Total Wine, get in touch with me and we may have a class action lawsuit that we can bring. read more

I know it's a chain, but sometimes chains do something (or a couple somethings) right, and I think this is the case here. Time to break out the list! 1. Selection: If you're someone who likes some differentiation in your booze, and all whiskeys do not taste the same to you, they have an unbelievable selection of beers, wines, spirits, and others. Good selection of local options as well! 2. Helpful staff: employees are always happy to lend a hand in choosing something for a friend, or a dinner party, or even for yourself. For example: I was looking to buy a blanco tequila that didn't taste like alcoholic cactus water. One of their staff recommended a superb tequila that I actually enjoy sipping! 3. Nips!: I not only enjoy variety, but I love trying new things! Especially when it comes to experimental cocktails. Being able to pick out one shot's worth instead of committing to a whole bottle is unbelievably useful. I realize all liquor stores carry them, however, there are two things that go above and beyond in this regard. First, they have a better selection than any liquor store I've visited. Second, they are out on the floor instead of behind the counter! Here you can browse for new items without having to ask the clerk what each one behind him is. If you don't quite know what you're looking for/at, this becomes all the more useful! 4. Cleanliness: you know how you walk into some liquor stores and are greeted by a smell resembling a freshman dorm room on a weekend night? The store is not only clean visually, but doesn't have a smell that takes you back to college only without the nostalgia! Prices seem reasonable, thought please do not quote me on this. read more

Have always driven past Total Wine but finally stopped by and found what we needed and more! On the day of New Years, we were specifically looking for some Mojito Mix, and went to as many liquor stores we could in the West Roxbury area. We've called many nearby as well. Unfortunately, we assume this was a popular New Years drink. Lucky for us, we googled and it seems like Google has a pretty decent update in terms of Total Wine inventory. They let us know that the closest store with confirmed inventory would be Total Wine and it WAS there ^_^ We were able to find so many drinks that are even out of stock at other local liquor stores and grocery stores. They have a vast variety, anything from wine, seltzers, hard liquor and more! If you didnt happen to stock up before the holidays and needed something even up to the last minute, definitely stop by Total Wines, they'd either have what you need or a really good replacement :) read more

I did not get their name but the manager with the short blonde hair/Mohawk is a completely miserable person! Last week a 24 pack wasn't in the system so the cashier charged me for 12 packs instead. I noticed immediately after I paid that she had accidentally charged me for 4 of them instead of 2. No big deal, it was a mistake. I went to the manager and was met with attitude as if it were my fault that the cashier had rung up the incorrect item/amount. Went back in today, an item I was looking for wasn't in its place in the aisle. I asked one of the employees if they had any, they were very helpful and looked it up. I was told they had 16 of that particular item and that it should be up front. I couldn't see it anywhere up the front of the store so I asked the same manager where they would be. Once again I was met with a negative attitude. She huffed and puffed, rolled her eyes and acted as if it ruined her day by asking where an item was. If she is this bothered by simple interactions with customers she should probably find another career that doesn't involve customer service and people. read more

I went shopping at TJ Maxx and noticed this AMAZING adult beverage store recently opened. The clerk told they opened last Thursday. I have visited their Everett, MA location and thought it was awesome. Now us South Shore peeps have a great selection of spirits in our neck of the woods. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in the Boston area. Before he hit the highway to head back home, we stopped at this Total Wine & More location in Ivory Park! The ambiance was great! Very clean and welcoming. While browsing, my boyfriend and I stopped by the tasting counter and asked Bob (who kept his head down, on his phone) what wines were available for tasting. Unfortunately, Bob was extremely dismissive and told us they were NOT doing tasting today. We both expressed our disappointment and started to walk away from the counter. Another employee, Heidi overheard us as we were walking away and immediately followed up with us-asking if we were interested in tasting something. We shared with Heidi what Bob told us. Heidi then [respectfully] questioned Bob on why he turned us away. His response was that they were "extremely understaffed", while avoiding eye contact.... Heidi on the other hand, disagreed. She apologized on his behalf and went forward with the tasting. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Instead of leaving with just 3 bottles of wine, we left with 6 simply because Heidi was open and willing to introduce us to other options.... At check out, Kat made sure we received our discount (mix 6). She was very helpful and also played a huge part in making sure our experience in the end was the total opposite from our experience in the beginning. Thank you so much, Heidi and Kat! My hope is that Bob is given the opportunity to improve upon his customer service skills, as he made my boyfriend and myself very uncomfortable with his dismissiveness. The flamboyant chubby man who I mistakenly asked for assistance should not be working with the public. Dark haired with a general disdain for everyone . A true great employee gets along with all, and makes the customer feel welcomed. I don't know if it was my femininity or just a overall hatred of mankind. His close proximity with a handicapped worker was worrisome. The general atmosphere is fraught with uncomfortableness and this is a store I will never visit again. Prices are high and they tell you they will offer a discount for six bottles or more. This place is amazing! Not just because of the incredible selection of wines and their prices but because of their staff. I stopped at the customer service desk just to ask where I could locate a specific wine. Not only did the person, Kat, take me to where the wine was located in the store but got me both a sales price and discount for the wine I was looking for. She also recommended another wine by the same winery and got me a sales price and discount on that as well. She ended up saving me $50 on a blended case on six bottles of both wines. read more

Poor customer service. Asked someone in the first area as you walk in if there was a police office on duty because of an incident in the parking lot and I was told I just work here. I figured that out myself seeing he was in an employee only area, the reason I stopped and asked him the question. The shark. they have jumped the shark, boss. they have great choices, reasonable prices, and now an extra dollop of bureaucracy and chaos. on a recent trip they could not locate a whiskey, because it was 'up front', they could not locate a different whiskey, because 'corporate sends those signs (with prices) and we have to put them up even if we don't have them in stock'. they also had some neat whiskey to drink neat. they had some wine I was looking for. the front staff i would believe given the chaos, would card minorities perhaps not out of spite but out of lack of training (and, perhaps, sometimes, just a little bit of spite). some folks were really knowledgable, but had a not in my department. more about whisky?, only ask the whisky guys. Briana (unsure of the pronoun) was very helpful and jovial. Briana was also kind. I liked Briana but Briana slightly confused me. They had things to taste, but did not know where they were. But, the wrong things from the same distiller did help my decisions. also, my car get wanged by the sleeping policeman on the way in, it has low clearence, so I will try not to go back and try not to go in that way. Selection and prices are good but it's not worth dealing with the staff. The staff on the floor are awful, unhelpful, and rude. Forget social distancing: they'll stand up next to you for no reason at all. Worst of many bad staff examples: I was trying to browse the bourbon section. Three of them were supposedly restocking and taking their sweet time. I say "supposedly" because they had all stopped and were standing around talking about movies even though they could see customers wanted to browse. They were blocking the whole section. Gave up and came back 20 minutes later. They were still chilllin' and chatting and in the way. Finally one of them asks "which one" I wanted. Instead of saying I wanted to browse I gave up and left. During my most recent visit, I was assisted by team member Bob Mitchell, who first helped me find some nice Rosés, but then after that, we got talking about Belle Glos and moved on to the Pinot Noir section, where he told me a bunch of stories about the many wines and accomplishments of Joseph Wagner (son of Chuck Wagner of Caymus).. very educational and entertaining, and of course I had to pick up some more Pinot Noirs as well! So it has been a long time since I have done one of these but covid, so why not. First of all, great mask adoption and they have a sanitizing station right in the door! Also, the prices here are so good that we have pretty much stopped going to the NH liquor store because its not worth the gas for the money. Anyway... We went in for some Bacardi and a bottle of Domain de Canton, which is amazing by the way, and mixers. But an associate, Yaz, who is my new drinking guru (sorry Zack) was so helpful that I ended up leaving with a different, much better rum, a delicious small batch tequila, two infused vodkas and a couple gifts for our friends who were coming over to spend time on the porch socially-distanced drinking. She was so nice that the only thing i need now is a discount coupon for the rehab I am going to have to check in to. ;-) read more

Like many others, I'm stocking up on Covid-19 necessities: toilet paper, Maruchan ramen, and alcohol. I wanted a few out of the ordinary things and past experience has taught me that Total Wine has the best selection around, so here I am. I was already impressed with this store, but even more so now. They had people lined up on the sidewalk, asking folks to maintain distance, and allowed a customer in as each one left. BUT, I was I line less then ten minutes because the store is so well organized and employees were actively helping people find selections as they restocked. There's also an app you can download that will tell you exactly where in the store to find your desired product or to create an online order. Who writes a review for a liquor store? I really love this place. The prices are cheap for good wine, and the selections are gigantic. I shop here probably every 2 weeks to get some wines and things. The only thing I absolutely hate about this place is checking out. I know I look young, but my MA ID and my passport both say 25 - which I am. Probably 2/5 times I go, I'm either carrying bottles in both hands, or have a basket that needs 2 hands. Therefore I have no hands immediately available to take my wallet out and have my ID ready to go. But the cashiers get all snooty and say things like "SIR you're aware you need to have an ID and be over 21?" Like, yeah lady, I've been to a liquor store before, my hands are just full, give me a second. The weirdest part is that once I hand them my ID, there are no problems (again, because it is clearly an MA REAL ID, with the federally compliant gold star). Now, don't get me wrong. I've worked retail. If I was holding up the line fumbling for my ID, I'd be the first one to call me an idiot. But I went today at like 2:45PM and I was the only person in line.
