Called here looking for a certain bottle. Lady that answered was nice and was told they had a few bottles left of what I was looking for than I asked how many I can purchase she then went on hold to ask. When she picked back up she said there wasn't any. I then called a nearby total wine and they told me the store in Braintree had it in stock. I drove all the way to Braintree store and asked a worker if i can purchase a bottle knowing it was in stock and he was very rude about it and didn't even acknowledge my presence when I asked. I go here a lot and spend a lot of money here. I have to say I will never be coming back here again. Workers blatantly lying to me on the phone and in person. I first heard about Total Wine from my sister in Houston. So when I finally found one close to Randolph, I was very happy. The thing is, I have to use delivery, because I'm disabled and cannot drive. The first time I sent someone there to buy for me, they didn't have enough. Their stock keeper is not paying attention to what is selling. Last week I ordered 6 bottles, and only got three. Today I ordered 6 more, and they only had 5. I've been ordering 6 bottles regularly for a few weeks now. You'd think they'd pay more attention to a regular customer's preferences. read more

Been going crazy trying to find Strega an Italian liquor with no luck. Walk into Total Wine and hit the jackpot. Found Strega , also a lovely peach liquor and a great selection of tequilas. I had a very unpleasant experience while attempting to pay..I was asked for my I.d...I asked the young lady why is she asking me, when she didn't ask the white gentleman in front of me...she replied I don't know...I said that's unsatisfactory...by this time another sales associate over hears the conversation at she starts blurting out 30 or under if you're look under 30...I told her thanks for the compliment but there's no way a 52 year old with grey looks under 30...the conversation was beginning to get loud as I asked for the manager he comes over and accused me of yelling at the two woman...I say to him your the one yelling and he goes because I heard you yelling....I finally was able to explain to him my frustration over the identification requests...he response was ...and I quote"we card everyone....so now I'm really frustrated because I ask 3 employees the same question and I get totally different answers....now the gentleman taken in line before me had a price issue ....they went out of their way to make sure that it was corrected so much that one employee had to correct another on the price...why was I not shown the same respect....dosent my money spend the same...the only difference between that gentleman and my self is the color of my skin..this guy the manager J.D. halloway...refused to serve me ....I felt disrespected at the highest level....I'll be asking that my family,friends and colleagues not patronize the establishment ever again read more

I have always been a fan of this store. Prices and deals are always amazing and the staff has always been so friendly and helpful. I have been using the curbside shopping since the coronavirus outbreak and the turn around time has always been so quick and it has been a life saver! This week I picked up on a Saturday and the curbside was packed in addition to the store being mobbed. When I got home I realized I had a few items missing which was no big deal, I figured it was a minor mishap due to the store being slammed. When I called I spoke with Jennifer who was quick to get the issue resolved. When I picked up the rest of my order she gave me a $25 gift card for the trouble. It was completely unnecessary because I could tell the store was slammed and it was a minor mishap, but much appreciated. Amazing store, amazing staff and great customer service! read more

Came in here the other day after receiving a flyer in the mail and I have to say I was very impressed! The place is very nice and clean, layout isn't cluttered or anything. There is a room in the back of the store where you can attend different types of events, such as wine tastings. Absolutely LOVED all the craft beer they had on hand, my mind was blown! While we were browsing we were approached by an employee by the name of Yvie. She let us know that she had some wines available for tasting. While we were tasting the wines my daughter asked for some water. Yvie gladly went into the back to grab a bigger cup to fill with water for her. BIG SHOUTOUT TO YVIE! She was very kind. The cashier was equally as kind and personable but I, unfortunately, didn't catch her name. I would definitely recommend checking the place out and I will for sure be back many times in the future! read more

I went to the Total Wine in Braintree to buy Pinot Noir for this, 2019, Thanksgiving. I had shopped at the Total Wine store in Natick last year and had great results. During that Natick visit, the salesperson asked me questions and seemed to quickly grasp that I was an experienced wine drinker with a reasonably sophisticated palate. Between us, we managed to pick out about a case and a half of Pinot Noirs ranging in price from mid $20's/bottle up to about $40/bottle, and all were very good to great. I was hoping to repeat this same experience at the new Braintree location. Unfortunately, it didn't work quite as well. I spoke to a salesperson and asked what he'd recommend. I gave him a similar price range and explained (or tried to) what I liked. He told me that the store/chain had a great relationship with wine maker Joe Wagner (who comes from a wine-making family and has made some very decent wines in his day), and he quickly recommended Wagner's Willemetter Journal ($29.99) and Tuli (on sale, 2 for $30). Now, I have no objection to the fact that Total Wine has a relationship with Joe Wagner and his wines, even though to my palate, these latest are over-extracted, out-of-balance wines with overly sweet fruit and almost no hint of food-friendly acids (and it would appear that just about all of the reviews of these wines would concur with my assessment). To be honest, I find them to be terrible examples of American Pinot Noir. That being said, and to Total Wine's complete credit, they took all of the wines back, even the two (one of each) that I'd opened the night before and returned, and were darned nice about it, so that was certainly a positive. I guess my only issues with my experience were that the salesperson didn't/doesn't seem to understand where these wines fall in the panoply of Pino Noir, and pointed out these to me. Now I have no doubt that there are folks out there who might find these wines acceptable, and even enjoyable. More power to them. But I can guarantee you they are not people who have experience drinking structured, balanced, food-friendly wines. That, and that I had to make two trips, and in the end was left to my own devices. Will I shop here again? Sure. Their prices are generally very good, and I know enough about wine and producers that I can get what I need. But I will miss having a knowledgeable, discerning salesperson to help me. Here's hoping this new store can find folks like this, or that the folks working there can grow in their experience of wine over time, and better understand where -- asking the right questions -- a particular customer's palate might lie. read more
