Inventory variety is second only to Luke's in Rockland, but the overall atmosphere of the booze barn rocks the gold medal. No weird leers as I carried my weeks old son through the narrow and harrowing aisles of a pristine packie, stocked to the gills with an attractive collection of wine, spirits and beer. Don't be surprised to hear live music serenading their regular wine tastings, and what they may not have on the shelves can be ordered for you. Delivery date never guaranteed, so I hope you're not in a rush to receive dat Luxardo doe. And honestly, it's what they have vs. what they don't that results in the just under perfect rating. The focus is obviously much moreso on the grape juice, and some of the spirit choices are a bit less craft than necessary. Every fruit brandy under the sun, but the aperitifs and classic liqueurs are severely underrepresented. This was such a great package store! They have a HUGE selection of the best wines, liquors, beers, and anything else you can imagine. I could have spent hours looking at the shelves and fridges filled with this massive selection. The workers were equally as amazing as the product. The cashiers were friendly and engaging which was nice to see. My boyfriend and I just got some IPAs but we will be back to check out Kappy's again soon!! read more

This is likely the largest selection and largest overall wine store in my area. I find the wine prices slightly better here too. The staff is extremely helpful and this place doesn't have that stuffy boutique wine store vibe than can sometimes intimidate. Since it's a liquor store and not specifically a wine store, it is very convenient that they sell everything. Have used Ksppy's for years on the North Shore and happy when one opened local. I like their selection and service. On Yelp it states time they close is 10pm. I was only 5 minutes away and saw on Facebook they had changed their hours to close at 9. Liquor stores are busier during covid so I don't see their reasoning to close earlier due to covid. Anyways I called the store and said I was only a couple of minutes away and knew exactly what I wanted and he rudely said "mam, we close at 9, if your here, your here. I asked that they had curbside pickup and if I told him the items I needed, could they have them ready. He said "no" I know we all have our jobs that we want to get out on time with but I think #1 Kappy's shouldn't have shortened their hours unless required to by law and #2 I think they could have been a little more accommodating considered I called, knew exactly what I needed which would have taken 2 minutes at most to get. If I had been in his position I would have accommodated the customer. It was the mans tone and words that has me upset and that their closing time is wrong in Yelp.I took a screen shot of my phone, this was after I had got out of car and went to door and was told they were closed, as you can see it shows 9 exactly and I took a screen shot of Yelp 2 minutes later showing they were still open read more

My husband and I had been coming here for about 12 years, but I probably won't be back. Tonight they decided to close early due to snow. As I was walking to the door I saw about 6 cars in the parking lot and at least one customer in the store. As I approached the door I saw the man who I had also been dealing with for 12 years locking the door. I said, "Did I miss you" and he said that I had and locked the door in my face. Its not that I think that I deserve special treatment for being a long time customer, but this is really below the minimum standard of acceptable customer service anywhere. Next time I will go to the one in Queen Anne's corner in Norwell where their selection is also decent and the men working there are always nice. There is also one further down the road into Hanover (Assinipee Country Store?) that is always open and also has friendly employees. read more

This review kept disappearing from google so I am posting it here. I bet there are many disappearing one star reviews for this company. Had a strange experience there, or several really. I walked in and a man in his early 20's approached me rather assertively, blocking my path and said "Can I help you find anything, Miss", no smile, rather loud. I repeated, "Miss?" Because I have a child close to his age and it seems presumptuous to assume that I am unmarried past 40 and address me as "Miss". "Yes, Miss" he confirmed assertively, no apology, nothing. He was very young, so I gave him the benefit of a doubt and thought perhaps he thought that Miss meant M'am so I tried them again. He was always there, approaching head on blocking my way offering assistance but not in a friendly way. Another time I ran in with my wallet but left my purse in the car where my license must have slipped and the girl working there made a big spectacle about me retrieving my license despite having seen it before and despite the fact that I am over 40. The last time I went the aforementioned "Miss" character and another man at the register seemed to be trying to stare me down, arms crossed. I guess because I did not accept the title, "Miss"? I felt super uncomfortable. I will just drive to the liquor store on 3A in Cohasset because an extra 30 minutes round trip beats that bizarre hostility. read more

This is a great store but don't go here if you are on an important phone call they have some sort of device that buzzes your phone if you are on it. Completely ridiculous I would have walked out but was in a hurry. My absolute favorite liquor store. We drive the couple of miles from Weymouth whenever we need any type of alcohol. They have the best prices around and an amazing selection of literally everything. All the employees we have encountered have all been very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. There is ample parking and the registers are always properly staffed. Being a proud product of Norwell and having past professional understanding of your operation, I was extremely impressed. The evolution of your operation from your grandmothers candy store with some basic supplies, to the expansion Era of store double or tripling your retail square footage and doing the same with the high quality personalized service you provide, to now, speechless! Tell PJ, Danny, and Greg I said Hi! They are a major asset to the operation and have consistently gone out of their ways in the past to help me when I come to the store and am pressed for time. Steve, John, and the Marsh's family, What a remarkable achievement to stand the test of time and be in operation all these year, (80+ - ?). Having the pleasure to know Steve, John, Mrs. Marsh, and some of the other Marsh family members, I can honestly say they are a pleasure to know, and very loyal hardworking people. They have a plethora of knowledge and information from being in the business for many years. This being said, perhaps not having previous professional experience starting here, and looking from a customer service standpoint, experience, or perspective, this store is bar none far and above its local competitors. Don't even waste your time going here: Staff are terribly rude and have no idea what they're talking about. They never say hello when you're checking out--just continue talking amongst themselves (always the same woman/women). The woman even threw our credit card on the counter when we finished paying! I couldn't believe it! When we asked about their selection she said she "didn't know" and made no attempt to help us in any way (we wanted to know if they carry a particular brand of beer but we're having trouble finding it). I have never written a review nor have I ever complained before on a website but i really felt the need to do so. I live about 3 miles from this liquor store and it is the only place that i go to purchase alcohol and therefore feel that I have spent a lot of money there over the years. In today's economy where business's should appreciate their customers, I feel the need to say how disgusted I am at the way the "owner of Marsh's" treated me in front of other customers. I do not know his name but he has curly brown and the one behind the counter who never has a smile on his face and is very demeaning to his employees. I went in to purchase some things and when one of his many friendly employee's told me my debit card could only be used as a credit card he (the owner) ripped it out of his hand and took my card. I proceeded to follow him to see if he needed me to put in my pin and he ignored me and when I asked him where he wanted me to go he shouted at me"you stay here" in shock and disbelief I said, excuse me, I am the customer and trying to buy something from you and he said " I am trying to run things along. I have never been spoken to that way in my entire life and being someone who works for the Government and deals with the public, I was horrified at how he spoke to me. I have family who live within 1 mile of that place and they will not return either. Every single time he waits on me he acts like he is doing me a favor by ringing up the sale. Not once in seven years did he acknowledge me or ever thank me for my business. Shame on you Marsh's Liquors. I hope someone else who reads this will go to one of those smaller stores who really need the business and appreciate the people who buy from them and would not belittle them. read more
