This place SUCKS My brother (32) and I (25) went into this Total Wine & my brother was going to purchase alcohol. They asked both of us for our ID's although I was NOT the one purchasing and I unfortunately did not have my ID on me which was not the issue but they acted like I was underage asking me for all my info and writing it down & let us know we weren't going to be able to purchase liqour because of me. YET there was a WHITE lady with a CHILD UNDER ONE buying liquor and they didn't ask her not a damn thing about her child. Make it make sense. ridiculous to let someone with a child buy liqour but two OVER the age people can not buy liqour because the one who wasn't purchasing didn't have an ID. IN THAT CASE , They need to ID before you even get & NOT ALLOW under age children. I will be giving ZERO stars across all platforms. read more

Shopped here for the first time to get a bottle of wine for a friend's party. Was overwhelmed by the variety of wines/whiskey/etc. I don't drink so I knew nothing about the different wines. However, I did a little research before visiting and got what I came for. Nobody came to see if I needed help with anything and the cashier wasn't very courteous. No "hello" or "thank you". Just a snarky look. Would I shop here again? That would be difficult for me to answer after this experience. I would give them another opportunity, but time will tell. read more

*** Buyer Beware for Events / Weddings *** Please do not waste your time or money purchasing items from any Total Wine for any event or wedding. You will end up hating your life, trust me. To start, you cannot place an order in advance. When you ask them about policies, everyone will tell you something different. On the actual day of the wedding, they canceled 12 different items in our order and we had to DoorDash the items from a local liquor store at 3x the cost. This location specifically said that we were able to return items being delivered and then blatantly refused to do so after the event, even though their own employees made the error. Save yourself from going insane and wasting an unspeakable amount of time and just shop at Spec's. read more

Clean and newish location in Clear Lake. The aisles are clean and well organized and definitely a step above Spec's. We got a bottle of champagne and they have a large selection of everything including craft beers. read more

This is our favorite place to purchase spirits in the Clear Lake Area.The selection is massive if they don't have what you are seeking they will special order for the customer.A major plus is there is always something going on inside with several vendors providing samples to try.I highly recommend signing up for a membership which is free to accumulate points for free gifts.In addition to spirits they have a really nice Humador with cigars from all over the world.They host wine and other classes. read more

Looking for booze that's not so easy to find? This is the spot. I've bought two bottles of Dom Perignon Brut (vintage 2008) and a Louis XV 300th Anniversary (vintage 1996) here with no wait. This is also the place where I was able to add to my stock of gin with rare Junipero Gin (from the now-defunct Anchor Distilling Co.), and multiple aged sing-malt Scotch varieties. The house brand, Grangestone, by the way is a very decent (and affordable) single malt. The microbrew selection here is fine ... plenty of IPAs and local stuff. And the employees here seem to be educated on their stock. Excellent place to expand one's quaffing pleasures. read more

This is my happy place. Always friendly service, knowledgeable staff, and you can taste some of the wines. They also do in store events for sampling some of the products they are promoting which is fun. The liquor prices are less than my local "bunny" store. read more

This review goes all to a guy name Jesse. Had a list of wine for an event my wife sent me out to get. Had one guy only showed me a direction where all 7 wine was.... I guess he didn't bother showing me. After 15-20 mins of trying to find these item I almost wanted to leave but Jesse came around just asking if I need help and I did and he found all my wine in 5 mins! So awesome. This place is huge! It has an excellent variety of wine, liquor and beer. They also have snacks, glass wares, little Knick knacks. This is the only Total Wine I have had issues with. They sold product on their store shelf that was over a year and half old! I bought a 2L bottle of Diet Pepsi to go with my liquor and its expiration was from March 15th 2021. Which I didn't realize till I got it home, put it on ice, and tried to drink it. It was flat with no flavor, so I dumped it out. That's when I looked at the expiration. It's currently December 17th of 2022!! I called asking for a refund and they said come bring it in with your receipt. I don't live in this town and I'm not driving back for that. This is a large and friendly location. I have always been greeted with a smile and friendly conversation upon entry. It's part of Baybrook Mall's extension, which makes it easy to access. There's even room for socializing and classes. When I'm close to this part of town, I always stop in. And let's not forget about the prices! read more

This store has the largest selection of wines I've ever seen. Very friendly personnel as well. I was looking for a sparking wine/champagne to use for mimosas at a brunch I was hosting, and one of the salespeople was able to find me a couple of great options at wonderful price points. They also had a "happy hour" from 2-6 where you could try different wines and bourbon. There's a huge parking lot that they share with the other stores in that section of Baybrook Mall. I freakin' love this place. It's one of my favorite escapes when life is a bit too damn much. Their selection, prices, and sales can't be beat. I go here regularly for pretty much everything I need, but especially come here for the champagne and craft beer selection. Getting lost in that singles section is therapeutic! The staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable, never faltering with recommending me a new bottle that I always end up enjoying. So updating my review because we got a an awesome deal on some Hennessy. We are always looking for the Hennessy XO. Premium, smooth cognac but it's way expensive usually running about 190-210. Well let me tell you... total wines had it on sale for 150! Whaaaaaaat! I called the nearest location to me Which happens to be in humble and mehn I had no idea it was so close by. 15 min drive off of 1960 and service both over the phone and in person was great. How can you NOT like a place that sells over 8,000 wines, 3,000 spirits, and 2,500 beers?! This place is 'TOTALLY' amazing! When I'm in the mood for a big wine haul, usually, I would make the drive to Trader Joe's because I could try out several wines for a fraction of the price of some grocery stores, but now I see I can save that gas money and apply it to a bottle at Total Wine. Heck yes!! If you're looking for value, this is definitely your place. I walked the whole store, slowly, and compared prices that I was familiar with from other places and this place won! It beats Specs (for liquor) and even my love, HEB, on the beer. I can seriously see myself spending plenty money here, especially after a long week at work. The layout of the store is pretty much the same as the usual liquor store, but in a fancier way. The multiple lanes at the front with the conveyer belts gives it a bit of a grocery store touch, which is great for convenience and efficiency. There is also a tasting section and they give nice samples in a cute stemmed glass so you can feel even more fancy. No little plastic sample cups here! Employees are very helpful and did seem knowledgeable when I had questions. Overall, I'm glad to have another great addition to the Clear Lake area. We're moving on up!! read more

Aside from the fact that there are HARDLY ANY Total Wine locations, also at Total Wine, employees walk around shoppers, staring at us like we're going to steal everything! Then, when you notice them watching you, they try to act as though they weren't creeping around.......REALLY WEIRD; I'm not sure what they're employee training is, but it seems very odd. I don't like being treated like a criminal, not do I think any of the customers do. They also ask in a very rude manner, if you try to get assistance, "What do you need!?" A beautiful new store with an excellent selection of all of your needs from fine wines from all over the world with selections that are hard to find and some I have never seen in other competitors. They have a comprehensive selection from high to low price point all displayed in a with a very attractive presentation. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They charged my card twice cuz their system went down while they were putting change in the registered while I was being rung up and they thought my card didnt go thru and made me swipe again. My bank card was hit twice. I showed the manager Shannon that I was already charged and he insisted that the charge didnt go thru and made me swipe again. My card got hit twice for the same purchase. Cant seem to get a hold of anyone to correct the problem either. read more

UPDATE:: I went back in because it was on the way out to downtown. This experience was much more pleasant!!! Alan, who was by the Whiskey selection, asked if I needed help. I told him, I was really wanting to venture out my normal Makers. He showed me a couple of similar liquors that they were advertising with specials. I tried the Two Stars, and another I forgot the name of. Both were tasty but didn't have that kick of sweet that Makers seems to have. I actually went with one of the two. Though, I'll go back to my Makers, I truly appreciated the professionalism and desire to help from Alan. I enjoy Total Wine, I just don't always totally feel welcomed or wanted as a customer. Btw::: they have a rewards program for all my fellow Alchies!! Great prices but the environment left something to be desired. In for my regular Makers and they had multiple people on the floor. Some helping, some giving free samples. No one bothered to try and persuade me to try anything or ask if I needed help finding something. Better luck and guest invat Specs if you ask me. read more

Huge store with a really wide selection of Wine, Liquor, Beer. Really good prices. Maybe not as big as Spec's downtown but it's pretty big. The staff is helpful, they have tastings of wine and liquor sometimes. there is a good selection of single beers which is nice if you just want to try a lot of different ones. They have a limited amount of snacks and accessories. If you are inso ciders they have a fairly nice selection of those as well. read more

I went in there @4:30 to get wine with my Girlfriend for a order with no problems didnt check my wife's if but checked mine (mind you my girlfriend is 20 and im 22 ) the second time we went a Caucasian women with glasses I believe was a manger ( she didn't want to tell us her name ) made a huge hassle about our age demanding me and my girlfriend that we arent of age to in there she was extremely rude and walked up in our faces screaming and being very disrespectful about a order we placed already and paid for. Second and last time coming inside the store, I didn't mind if you tell us nicely to leave that would of been fine but to scream and tell my girlfriend " you are stupid to come in the first place " is just very unprofessional. I have never been a big wine fanatic, until we had a Total Wine. My first experience was just to pick up a few bottles for a friends birthday. After being able to sample a few and talk with the staff, I have become to love and appreciate the differences in wine. I'm not that great in explaining my taste short of, I prefer sweet and non dry wines. With that little information I have been recommended 8 different types, in a red, white, and rosa. So far I have loved every bit as well! When I ventured to their beer aisle, I was ecstatic to find out they had three different versions of my favorite German beer. And they had it both chilled and not chilled! When I moved to their liquor selection, I found an even more amazing selection. They had a vodka and whisky distiller in and providing samples which led me to an even new favorite vodka. Total wine is just an amazing place to go and find something new. read more

We have liquor stores much closer to us, but prefer to make the drive to this location because the SERVICE & SELECTION is beyond what we get anywhere else. With multiple lanes always open, the wait is never long to check out (even on a holiday). If you have questions, they always have someone available that is knowledgeable about the product and can recommend something based on what you like.
