Always a fan of total wine. Used to go all the time in SFL. There is no total wine in Asheville so we took advantage of being in town here and loaded up on some delights from Bordeaux, Douro, and Rioja. We had a great experience on a trip to stock up on good value wine for Easter and also just to replenish the wine stock that we normally keep, which is 10-12 cases of a variety. We learned from the very helpful associate, Nathan, that we could get discounts on our wine purchase if we used the "Wine Direct" designations and used the Total Wine app. We were already members of the wine club, but while in the store we downloaded the app, and with Nathan's help we navigated through to get our club coupon offering 15% off of all wine selections that were in the "wine direct" category. This was very helpful. Nathan also steered us towards some good bargains, provided a tasting and listened to our preferences to help make new discoveries of wine we enjoyed. Each year I bring my father who is now 82 years old into your Greenville location to buy his yearly supply of Evan Williams. We have done this for at least the past 10 years without issue. He purchases 2 cases each year. This year the store refused to sell him two cases stating that they only had 4 cases in stock and did not know when they would get more in. Needless to say that did not make us feel like valued customers as they had the stock in place but would not sell it to us. read more

Got a whole cart of wine in order for a wedding and I had my younger sister with me who is 19, was simply with the me the whole day, not even going to this wedding, we went around the whole store got the wine, got up to the register and then I was told because she didn't have her ID on her that they couldn't sell me anything. I ALSO had NON ALCOHOLIC WINE in the cart. I had about 4 different employees help me before I got to the counter. The employees here are so stupid that not one of them said a word about her being underage (my sister looks like she's 15) and then when I got up to pay it magically became a problem and she "actually isn't even allowed inside the store under 21" What a complete joke. The largest wine, beer, alcohol and non-alcoholic spirits store I've been in! It was a bit hard to find specific items, but everyone in the store was very helpful with directions and suggestions. Fairly easy to find next to World Market off of Woodruff Rd. Similar to the other locations, well laid out with a nice selection of craft beers. Like other locations you won't find many hard to find or rare beers, but for readily available stuff it's a decent place. The singles selection is a bit smaller than other locations I have been to, and the prices seem to be higher than other local beer stores. Service is nearly non existent, and the cashier wasn't terribly friendly. Overall, with other good beer stores nearby, I will likely skip this one next time I'm in the area... read more

I visited Total Wines & More over the weekend. It's a very nice and well stocked store. The workers were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed just walking around the store looking and listening to the Christmas music. I went to purchase some moscato, and they had just what I was looking for, I even purchased a bottle of the moscato they serve at The Olive Garden. They have a points program for their customers if you sign up for an account online, there is also wine tasting if you care to try some. You can order online and choose a time to pick it up. Yes. I drive from Charlotte to this location a few times a year and its worth it. Since NC is a controlled state for alcohol, I enjoy coming here to purchase spirits. I came into this store with my partner and our three friends, I wasn't purchasing alcohol and neither was my other friend. We all walked through different lines and none of my friends had their identification checked, except for myself who wasn't purchasing alcohol. I did not have my ID so they did not serve my partner. We are both well over the legal age. Edit- I just got a comment back where this company claims they have a "group policy" and "adhere to the law" but you did not check any of my friends that bought or did not buy alcohol in our group. Which is against the law and your policy. If you are going to "adhere to the law" check EVERYONE for identification. Not a select few. read more

The manager here is extremely rude, I went and found him to ask to see if they had a certain Brut. He responded in the most awful tone " I already told him I didn't have it" . The him he was referring to was my husband, which I had no idea asked already. Many of the workers gave me sincere looks as if they have seen this rude side if him before. The selection is incredible and they have so many fun items to pair with your selections like cups, games, mixers, candy, snack, and more. I come here for the British ciders so I love building my own 6-pack with unique options. Hubby loves the European beer selection too. There always seems to be a free beer tasting going on in the front right corner. I always sample because you never know when you'll find your new favorite sips! Last week, Sierra Nevada was showcasing their new IPAs and I don't even like most IPAs but this was lovely. They offer growler refills and the employees are friendly and helpful. Best selection of beer in Greenville hands down. The prices are very competitive and fair as well. This is my go-to place for craft beers since most of the smaller stores are overpriced and carry more on the side of light beers and fruity IPAs and lagers (not my style). I know I can come in and find plenty of great, heavy stouts porters, and ales. Tonight I went in, and masks and distancing are required. In addition, there's a station for cart cleaning, and employees are wearing masks and gloves. I've only been to the liquor side once, so I can't speak much to that. I have never had a negative experience at a Total Wine before, but today was a first... I will split this review in two parts, since the issue I had was with the wine/beer side of the store (SC separates liquor sales from other alcohol sales.) Wine/Beer Side No one available to help - employees lounging around the area, but no greeting or offer of help. I was looking for moscato d'asti. At least 7 or 8 of the bins were out of stock. This is a wine that has a pretty limited selection to begin with, so the stock outs were extra disappointing. Luxardo cherries, normally $14-$17 a jar, were priced at $21. I passed. At checkout, employees and/or vendors were milling around while customers waited. Why not jump on a register and clear the queue? Really a let down and killed my enthusiasm to be there. Liquor Side Greeted quickly, led right to my requested area and checked out quickly. Smooth and pleasant transaction. Should have stopped here first to start off on the right foot. On the liquor side, the best part of the place is their selection. Name the spirit, you'll find all the brands you know, and some you don't, with price ranges suitable for all. I'm not as crazy about the store layout, three aisles so you end up doubling back to check out. The aisles are also narrow and when busy, can be frustrating. All in all, I highly recommend, although I would about the peak times. The beer and wine side has a better layout. Excellent craft beer selection, and growlers are available for selected beers. While I've never had a bad experience at this store, today was an odd visit. A friend and I went in and were searching for wine to purchase and ended up at the "wine tasting" section. The person serving was awesome and very engaging with the store patrons. I noticed a sign that said "ID REQUIRED IF UNDER 30" while we were tasting; we were never IDed and were served the wine ( we are both 32 so we were good anyway). We then move along to find and purchase our wine and proceed to the checkout line. We place the items (wine, a gift card to be activated, and a Kit Kat candy bar) on the belt and are asked by the gentlemen if we are together and we both say yes and he's asks for both IDs, cool. I realize that I don't have mine (my friend does) on me and tell him that and he says that we can't be served. I'm not too thrown off by that as I've heard that before in stores so I'm like cool ok, but ask to just purchase the gift card and candy bar and he says that we CANNOT purchase those items either. Woah. Wait, what? Since when does not having your ID on you prevent you from purchasing a candy bar or a gift card? Needless to say, we left very confused. I'm completely understanding of not being able to purchase the wine (even though she had hers) but the candy bar and gift card? Alrighty then. This is the only place I will buy liquor in Greenville. Shopping really is a pleasure here. They always have what I need. The staff is super helpful, and makes great recommendations. I have yet to go in and not find what I need. The organization of the alcohol, cleanliness, large selections, and rewards program make this place top notch. For those that are familiar with the Colombian liquor Aguardiente, rejoice in the fact that they not only have it with or without sugar BUT they also have Aguardiente Cristal. Ok, this place is seriously amazeballs! It is definitely a cornucopia of beer and wine on one side and a great selection of liquor on the other. This is by far the best Total Wine & More I have ever been to, and I am officially excited to live just down the road from such total awesomeness. You may ask, why is this place so special? First off, the fact that it has a liquor side so convenient is awesome. Next, they have an amazing selection of beers. Not only is this beer selection in the bottles, they have a growler station where you can purchase 32 or 64 oz bottles of different beers there. They have some really interesting beers on tap here for pretty reasonably prices. They also have regular beer and wine tastings for all to enjoy. They have two nights of beer tastings and two wine tastings each week. I love that you can try out new things without committing to buying them if you don't like them. They also have a great selection of different wines, but I suppose that was probably obvious because of the store name. read more

Prior to COVID-19 my daughter was married. I highly recommend Total Wine for anyone having a wedding or party. First, they helped us identify a wine, beer and champagne strategy for our wedding. I say strategy because I am in business, and that is how I experienced their approach. It was very well thought out in terms of how many types of wine, and beer, champagne and spirits, quality vs. price trade-offs, ways we could maximize bang for buck as well as quantities. We were able to sample the wines and champagnes they recommended. We had a pretty tight budget, but I think everyone at the wedding was able to find good wine, good spirits and a beer they liked if they wanted beer. We were told we could return unopened, undamaged, cases or bottles of beer, wine or spirits that hadn't been chilled. No one else in town takes returns like this. We did have some returns, and return process was not difficult. read more

Total Wine & More has fair prices and usually always have what we need. The beer side always has wonderful customer services and someone always willing to help. The liquor side well it's hit or miss. Additionally I cannot make heads or tails on how to find things on the liquor side. I look at the top labels that say whiskey yet see moonshine and not in alphabetical order but not in a price point order. Maybe they are and I am just not catching on. We were looking for this one whiskey and couldn't find it. We didn't really get the vibe from the staff that they wanted to help us. They were not rude but late in the night and close to closing so probably just tired which I understand. On a positive note, I like the details about the liquor they include on the price tag.
