Very disappointed in total wine rewards app since 2024. looks like they have changed their app so all of the great deals that you were able to activate on the app are not offered anymore. Now, any deals are huge. You have to buy nine bottles or something ridiculous to get any deal. Even the cashiers cannot see any rewards that are applied like they use to when you put your phone number in. That's because there are no deals applied! I stopped in here for a few beers that I was looking for while I was in town. This is a very nice place. The manager working on this Sunday was very helpful. I highly recommend checking on their website first to see if they have the alcohol/bottle that you are looking for before going there. I came to this location specifically because they were carrying the bottle that my friend was telling me to go try out. (3 Finger Jack) I wasn't able to find it so I asked for some help. It was the last bottle they had and was hidden away from my eyes. I was honestly in and out within 10 mins. They have a safety set up of 6 ft distance while in checkout. I have to say the tasting guy Robert they had was so unprofessional it was mind boggling. He made a couple of sexual innuendo comments to a woman during the tasting that my jaw hit the floor. I don't think Robert is an actual employee of Total Wine but they were definitely giving him the opportunity to interact with the public in their setting. If it was my wife that he said those things to then we would have had a major problem. I can't believe this is the first time they have received feedback on Robert but it should be the last. Sexual jokes in a professional setting should not be tolerated by anyone much less a customer in your store. read more

I went into Total Wine for the first time last week looking for a specific cider, and was very impressed by their selection and service! The store is huge, nearly the size of a grocery store, and in addition to tons of wine, they have a large beer selection and also allow you to mix and match single bottles. They did not carry what I was looking for, but the employee who helped me spent a long time looking through their computer system, and explaining to me how distribution works in Virginia and why I might have trouble finding what I was looking for (Woodchuck Pearsecco). Absolutely fabulous new store with great service. Came in for a pick up order during Hurricane Florence. Got 4 bottles of Stone's ginger wine with my online order. When I arrived I was promptly greeted by the front end manager, Ben. When I asked him where the Rieslings were he finished his interaction with another client and walked me to them and made his recommendations. I opted for his first recommendation and he carried the bottle for me. When I also asked if there was more Stone's, he guided me there instantly and also carried the last bottle to the register. He got my online order from the pickup counter (bagged labeled and ready to go)and then escorted me to the regular register to check me out for my additional items. He promptly asked me for my total wine membership info to make sure I got credit for the purchase. When I told him that I'd forgotten to put in the info for my online order he clearly explained to me the process for getting credit for the online order even though I already paid. The whole time from the online start to checkout, total wine made this process so easy. Ben had great customer service and did a great job of engaging in friendly banter while getting me everything I needed patiently but also with haste. His conversation was polite and he dealt with me with respect and professionalism while also demonstrating his knowledge. I was confident in his abilities the entire time. The thing that really captured me is that I had my baby sister with me who has special needs. Ben even engaged with her during our interaction and shook her hand (upon her request) when leaving. I truly wish this was my home store. If it was I would give my business to them exclusively. I will certainly patronize then when in the area, tell my family and friends that are Richmonders to shop there, and encourage you, me fellow Yelpers, to give them a try. Wine tastings are available on Friday and Saturday. Each time I come, I look for something different that I haven't tried that I may like. With help from.the associates, I find something as well as what I come to get. They do offer a rewards program. They offer a mail wine service. You can purchase online and pick up here or The Total Wine location near you. There are a lot of places to buy wine and I should have gone to one those. I'd never been to this location before and when I asked for help locating a certain bottle I approached an employee for help. She was white, short brown hair, white shirt. She pointed to the other side of the store and said what I wanted was over there. I asked her to show me and she refused!! I found out that this was a manager! I've worked retail my entire life and would never treat a customer like that. You'd think with all the options to buy wine in Richmond and Short Pump that good customer service would be important to set them apart. This was not my experience and I'll never go back there. Thought I'd pick up a bottle of wine before dinner. I carry a very nice handbag, dressed casually. And I limp due to arthritis in my knee. I've never been in this location. No less than 3 ee's walked by me. It was clear that I was shopping. As I had a bottle in my hand. I never found the wine that I wanted. I know they carry , on the website. No one offered their assistance. Or seemed to care. Next time I'll go back to Trader Joes. Where they care about helping you. read more
