My one stop destination when it's time to stock up on wine or when I want a particular bottle. They always are well stocked and I always find what I am looking for. They have a vast selection and when I go, I usually stumble across something new and interesting to try. Their staff is very helpful in finding what you're looking for as well as offering suggestions based upon your taste and suggesting their favorites as well. They also have a good selection of beers as well. Their refrigerated section comes in handy when you need to grab a bottle or pack on the way to an event.

Total Wine does wine right by going direct to the wineries, cutting out the middleman (distributors)! I stopped by the other night for a Wines of the Southern Hemisphere class and it was really impressive! Thirty-six eager wine-drinkers were sheparded into a classroom in the back of the store. Each student had a packet of materials for the presentation and wine notes. Also at each seat were some Reidel wine glasses to maximize the tasting! After some brief snacks (cheeses, pepperoni, crackers, tres leches cake), the manager Glenn introduced himself and we were off. We ran through a large variety of wines (10 total) that included some really interesting varietals like Pinotage and Tannat. For each tasting they told us a bit about the vintner, history and philosophy for each winery, very cool. And while all the wines were pretty good, they were also really affordable, bonus! You'll definitely get a happy buzz going with the number of selections they go through. (1/3 to 1/2 pours) The classes are really popular and given regularly, $25 for a single class, $20 if you buy a package. Well-worth the money and time, our sampling took over 2 hours and was a great virtual wine trip around the globe. And as the earlier reviews mention, Total Wines has a huge selection at great prices so you don't have to splurge like crazy. So, if you're a big fan of wines and civilized adult beverages, stop on by Total Wines for a class or just to browse through the place. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

This is a favorite mega Wind store. They have most everything in the middle of the road including high end wines and Champagne. Like a supermarket of Wines, it is in fact. They host wine tastings and events. The one thing I find very helpful is the notes they put on the bottles of wine. One may have 96 points, the other may be a favorite of an employee. They are helpful if you do not know what to get. They do carry energy drinks, and accessories, wine bottle wraps for gifts. Easy in and out, next to Best Buy and Panera Bread across from Triangle Town.

Takisha was so welcoming and nice. She is the most knowledgeable and polite associate I have encountered at this location.

Really think the customer service staff working, on the floor, the north Raleigh location KNOW so much! I enjoy learning, as I go!

So I wandered around checking them all out, and thinking, you know, if these were in some sort of recognizable ORDER this would be a lot simpler. As they appear completely random to the shopper. I finally chose a nice Dogfish Ale, marked 10.99. I feel it to find it's warm, as they all were. What's the point of having everything in refrigerated cases and they're all at 65 degrees? Seeing the hopeless nature of desiring a cold beer, obviously my bad, I go up to the registers, and the guy rings up $13.99, $15 bucks even with tax. I'm like... WHAT? That's about FORTY percent more than shown on the shelf. But I'm already there and I just figure I'll buy it and never come back. So I sigh and stick my credit card in the slot. [CARD DOES NOT READ.] Now I know my card is fine, I'd just used it, and I pay my bills. "Try again" the guy says. [Remove Card, DECLINED.] Now I KNOW I'm not the issue here, so I pull out another card. Register boy is getting irritated. "Sometime she not work right mon." He leans through the plexiglas and takes my card, waving it around the machine. [DOES NOT READ] I take the card back and attempt to slot it in place again. "Swopyacah" he says through his mask. "Swopyacah". Nope, still not registering as an English phrase. Can you translate that to the local language? I ask. "SWOPYACAH!" he orders, and grabs my card again and SWIPES MY CARD. Mystery solved. Finally the crappy machine registers my card, ringing up the usurious fifteen buck price. "Oh by the way, I said, this beer is marked 10.99 on the shelf over there, and now it's 13.99." "Well I didn't do it." He intones, shrugging all semblance of working there. "NO, I can see you're not responsible in any way...I'm telling you so you can make a note and then go correct the problem and the next guy, who might be having a bad day, won't get pissed off when he gets jacked for an extra FORTY PERCENT and smash the six pack on the floor." I didn't bother to listen to whatever mealymouthed excuse came next as I was out the door, never to return.
