Hi .. I had a technician sent by Totem Appliance to help me fix my LIEBHERR fridge in the end he took some parts form my fridge without my knowledge. He came twice the fist time told me he needed to oder parts and second time said it cant be fixed and returning the parts he ordered there was a fee also need to pay by me. Then he had someone came help him moving stuff, they came with one bag and leave with two bags. I found out today they took some part of my fridge. I hire someone  help me open the back of the fridge .. look at this photo everything gone and they took it ..  Totem appliance CALL ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!INV#S00895114 I left a messge it is not good you hire someone like this and I will call local news and of course report to the police. This person licences should be canceled if he does his job like this. Yesterday they came into repair my all in one washing/dryer machine. The tech called me in the morning to let me know that he was coming. I asked that he send me video of the machine working before he left. He said not a problem. I was told when booked it would be around a 2 hour job. I had a family member come to be present in my place as I was working. He left after 45 minutes. Did not call me until after he left. He sent 3 pics of the dryer filter. Confirmed that he fixed drainage code and dryer filter. Family member went to start a load and taps were still off. OE code came up about 45 minutes later and my basement was soaked I texted technician and no reply. I called the company. Offer to send out a new tech next week. I said my basement is soaked and still don't have a washing machine. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! read more

Beware using their service, called them to fix my parents fridge just before Xmas holidays and the tech while working on the fridge loosened water line and didn't properly push the fridge back, my parents woke up the next morning to a flooded basement. When we called them, they refused to help or acknowledge poor work and the damage they caused to my parents home, which now will take 10k to repair, a project and cost we didn't need. Very disappointed with their workmanship, and customer service with no offer to respond or help resolve. Would stay away if you have another option for your appliance repair. read more

The serviceman Hardik Patel was excellent. He arrived on time and got right to work diagnosing the problem with our dishwasher. We decided because the dishwasher was 18 years old not to spend the $500 to repair it and we bought a new one instead. Compressor stop working in our LG refrigerator it was under warranty they are the only ones in our area that are authorized repair for LG called them and made the appointment Tony the repair man was very knowledgeable and friendly and was more then qualified to get this done had the part with him and explained as he did it I would recommend this company for all appliance repair read more

I had excellent service from the technician that repaired my dishwasher. Super friendly and knowledgeable guy. Dispatch reps were also very friendly and responsive, via both phone and email. The part did take a couple more days to arrive than originally anticipated, but I understand that many of the logistics of those things are out of their control. I used them this time because that is who LG assigned the warranty work to, but based on my experience, I would choose them in the future if needed. read more

I took a day off work to be home for the "Totem Appliance" service call last Friday. The technician called and said he could'nt fit his truck in the parking stall. ( I have parked U-Haul trucks there) He said he had the part, and it would take less than an hour. I offered several parking options, but he immediatly gave up and left. Now I have 3 more days without a refigerator and I have to take another day off work.... This is warranty work, I was able to call LG Canada and request they use a different service company. Update, Tuesday morning and the repair is going swimmingly with the new service company! read more

I have used Totem Appliance several times over the past 15 years to service my appliances as they were listed as an authorized service for warranty purposes. I have found them competent and knowledgeable and for the most part personable. I have never felt they were trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge by suggesting repair or replacement of something that was unnecessary. Fortunately, most of the service calls have been for minor problems and I have appreciated the honesty and professionalism shown by the technician(s). They came when they said they would and didn't rush through the process. read more

***STAY FAR AWAY*** If you like being ripped off, this is the company for you. My brand new Samsung dryer has a control board issue after 1 year of use. We had 2 technicians confirm that the issue was the control board and that it would cost approximately $400 in parts, and $200 in labour to replace. I reached out to Samsung with frustration, and they offered to provide the part for free as long as we used Totem Appliance Repair - great news right? Wrong. Totem quoted 50% higher just to have someone diagnose the issue, where the two other technicians knew exactly what was wrong without even opening it up - it's a common issue. They then said that the technician would provide us a quote and it was very obvious the quote would be more than $200. I asked them to make a commitment that if the issue was as we expected and previously had diagnosed, that they would match two other technicians labour quotes of $200, and they said no. This company is inflating labour prices when they can't mark up the cost for parts on a job. To add to that, Anna, from customer service was very rude and confrontational on the phone call - yelling through the phone and being rude throughout the entire call making it almost impossible to explain my situation. This company will try to charge you more than others, for a subpar service where their "customer service" employees yell at the customers. read more

Horrible service. My fridge suddenly stopped working so I called to the LG service and they recommended me the Totem appliance repair. The technician came and found the problem. He promised me to come back with part of the fridge and fix it on Wednesday next week. On Wednesday the customer service called me and said that he can't come on Wednesday, he will come on Thursday. Than in few minutes I received another call that he won't be able to come on this week at all. I feel very frustrated and disappointed about the service. read more

My most recent service call to Totem was an excellent experience as were two others in the past. They worked around my schedule and the service man was punctual. My dishwasher was an easy fix and I was only charged for a service call. Previously I was advised not to repair my stove due to the cost and the price of the service call was reduced. I'm very pleased and would call Totem again. read more

I hired this company to fix my freezer and technician came and diagnosed and told to change the relay and it will work but after changing that my freezer didn't work and I had to hire different company to look at that and they found out compressor is not working so this company seems to have no knowledge to diagnose the issues so you better not to hire this company to give them free money. read more

However, the routine charge of $7.75 for "AB SERVICE & C19 SUPPLIES", even if such supplies are not used is unnecessary and not appreciated. There were two "Labour" charges on each of two invoices. After phoning and questioning why there were two "Labour" charges, I was told that one of the "Labour" charges is for diagnostics. For our two problems, I told the technician what the problems were. So I question why should I be charged for diagnostics? For our two problems, I felt the diagnostic charges were unnecessary and not appreciated. The pricing structure seems to be purposely and knowingly engineered to extract the maximum dollars possible from the customer. read more

Service was excellent and they came with the part and no need for multiple visits. Repair person (sorry can't recall name) was excellent and quickly fixed our leak in the dishwasher. I was a bit surprised they had an additional labour charge over and above the initial visit charge. I would have expected the initial $125 visit charge would have covered the time of the repair if it was within the first hour. Seemed high for a 30 min repair. Basically charged $265 for a 30 min service repair excluding parts. I was not expecting the higher cost. read more

My dryer stopped working midday Friday and Totem was able to send a technician Monday. The technician was very polite, extremely knowledgeable and was able to quickly diagnose the problem. He had the genuine name brand replacement part on hand and was able to fix the machine in no time. My understanding is that the Totem technicians dont work weekends, so to have my washer fixed the next business day was very good. The diagnostic and labour cost may be a little more expensive than I would have liked, but I feel as though I got good value for my money; the technician really knew his stuff, he had the part on hand, and I didn't have to wait very long for the appointment. I would call Totem again if/when I have appliance issues in the future. read more

My cook top was acting up and Totem came out tested it and even though it worked perfectly for those 20 minutes the service gentleman continued to try and have it fail. It didn't but he called the manufacturer and they said to replace a part. The service gentleman came on time was very good at wearing a mask and social distancing and was extremely patient and understanding. I would recommend them. read more

I have received nothing but horrible customer service from this company. The first incident occurred last week when the appointment was booked and they gave me a 3 hour window (very typical, and is fine) for which they would arrive, but... absolutely no show. So, I talked to my warranty guy, who was unaware that they did not show. He contacted them and returned to me with the reason that I got the date mixed up and it wasn't their fault--they were scheduled for the next day. Good thing I had everything documented via email and forwarded the email back saying that no, I did NOT get it wrong. So they came back and did not apologize for accusing the customer for their issue, and instead, the new reasoning was changed and that their guy was in an accident so couldn't come. So why wasn't that the reason in the first place?! Rescheduled to the next day. Next day, no show. Again, my warranty guy was not contacted. They called me and said that their guy was in an accident and couldn't come. They called me an hour before the 3 hour window so the accident was certainly before that time. Could they not arrive closer to the end of the 3 hour window? Nope. Need to reschedule. Rescheduled yet again. Again no show. No excuse this time. The appointment just needs to be pushed back. Be aware that not everyone can work from home... when time is taken off, pay is docked. At this cost, I could have easily bought a new item from a store with less frustration. The only reason why I went with them is because it's covered by my warranty. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. read more

We had a stove overheat and stop working outright. Service call was booked in short order and while we had to wait on a part to be shipped as the biggest time and cooking supper inconvenience, the follow up installation went relatively quickly. We did have to book a follow up request as the oven did reach temperatures after the installation, which was rectified on a second visit. From a customer service standpoint, this company cares about its customers and 'makes it right' when the install was not 100% the first attempt. Attentive service technicians with digital terminals and accept credit card payments in real time with digital receipts, courteous reception staff who work to make appointments within your schedule. The techs make a point of calling at 8:30am with a designated 2 hour appointment window so you are not stuck at home all day to wait on them. They arrive closer to the earlier time in all visits we had. read more

Our 6 year old LG fridge recently stopped cooling. - both the freezer and fridge sections. Totem appears to be the default repair company for LG products in Calgary so I issued a service ticket via the LG website. A customer rep from Totem contacted me about an hour later and was able to set up an on-site appointment for the next business day. She also reviewed the minimum charge for the visit and gave an approximate estimate for what could be the worst case scenario to repair. The service technician called the morning of the appointment to provide an approximate arrival time which he kept to within about 45 minutes. After some preliminary trouble shooting he provided us with a best case and worst case repair scenario. The minimum estimate was about $500 and the maximum was about $800. After explaining the situation associated with each scenario we decided not to proceed with any repairs because of the history these LG fridges have (read online reviews) and based on the service tech experience. He said he understood the position we were in and charged us just for the work he did and the minimum service call fee = total $105 including tax. The service tech was knowledgeable and friendly and helpful in terms of explaining our options and did not pressure us to proceed with any repair. Other than the minimum service call fee, being a bit high in my opinion, we were happy with our interaction with Totem but not happy with LG products. read more

I booked an appt to have our dishwasher repaired as it was not working. The tecnician never showed up as promised after taking the day off work. The office called later and told me that there was a double booking. The tecnician finally came out, his name was Cort. He looked at the dishwasher and told me that it was fine after he took the door apart. he charged us $1256.00 for the service call, we tried to put a load of dishes through two days later and the dishwasher did not work. i called the office again and have never heard back from them. Phoned Totem as they are listed as authorized service for Danby Wine Fridge. Paid $125 for a guy to show up with clip board and no tools. No intention was there to fix fridge just do a quote which I have not received 1 week later. In the meantime I called a service guy who came by a fixed my problem with no parts needed. Your fees are too high. I don't mind paying for the service call to come out but the labor was $70 for 5 minutes. So service and labor was $195 for 5 minutes. I diagnosed my own problem, gave you the part number, and it took 5 minutes to repair. Would not use you again. read more

I appreciate the service, knowledge and professional approach of the Totem technical support. We have witnessed expertise with Samsung refrigerator, and stove and last week the LG washing machine. Unfortunately the technician was unable to get a computer reading on the sensor which determines the amount of water that is allowed into the tub. It appears not to be reading the amount of laundry. Too little water is coming in. After seven years I do not believe this machine should need to be replaced. I feel I will try to add more water myself by turning the machine off and restarting it. read more

Terrible service!!! Called them to repair my 4 yr old Samsung dishwasher. Got through a CALL CENTRE who could only book an appointment in 2 weeks! It was only to be a diagnostic visit (for $75) to see what was wrong with my appliance and there would need to be a second visit (to be charged separately) to actually fix it! I still asked them to come. So 2 weeks later the technician came and saw that I had removed the screen filter at the bottom of the dishwasher to clean it up and not reinstalled it. He said he can't do anything for me because I had touched my dishwasher, and refused to diagnose it even if I was going to replaced the screen for him...!!! He left without even putting his tool bag down... The repairman they sent was a worthless incompetent! Please find another less arrogant repair company!!! read more

I've had a bad experience with Totem appliance as well. I purchased a Frigidaire fridge through The Brick, and this is Frigidaire's appointed technician. I've already had a Totem tech out twice to my home (with the 9-5 window so I had to do both appointments on my day off). The last time the tech was out, he didn't even wait to see if the part was working again, and left my house quickly. The issue remains unfixed, and I had booked them to come on another day I took off. Rather than calling me a day before, the tech calls me the morning of my appointment, and lets me know the parts are not in. They really do not respect clients' time and the fact that people cannot be home at any given time. What a nightmare! read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! We had our washer machine serviced. Technician while servicing poured water out into a turkey pot & water flooded into the floors and came poured through ceiling. Gagan was the technician. He poured water stuck in the machine into a turkey pot (not sure why he thought this was a good idea). We offered to get him help 3 times with someone to help him. Gagan declined the assistance all three times. He proceeded to empty the machine and water poured out all over the floors. It then leaked downstairs and water was pouring out of the light fixtures and ceilings getting all over our floors furniture and counters. The rep admitted fault (on a recorded call) and said that Totem has insurance and accepts responsibility for the accident and would talk to his manager and get back to us. Its now been over a week no word. VERY unprofessional. I called the Head Office in Calgary and spoke to a call center lady who also wasnt helpful. She said there was no manager on and no way to get a hold of them. I asked if they could call their cell or email them and she said she wont due to it being Friday. Again terrible service. Was told a manager would call me back on Monday. That was over a month ago! We want a claim filed through their insurance the insurance company details provided and a restoration company sent out to our house to do an estimate and evaluation on the damage. We have a gas range that had 2 burners clicking constantly. The tech came in, cleaned the electrodes and showed me what to do and presto - FIXED! In contrast with the same problem being dealt with by Trail Appliances and looked at in December and never fixed by them. We will be using Totem for all of our future repair needs. I bought a washer /dryer from COAST APPLIANCCES almost two months ago From the first day we realize that dryer button was broken we inform Coast appliances they said that they will sent a technician right away. Since two months ago totem service people call to come and they do not show up. this action happened 4 times and when we call they say sorry we can not find the electrical part we call coast appliances and they pass us to totem service people I am surprised why there is no laws to take care of these thieves read more
