I was diagnosed with stage 3C breast cancer in May 2025 (local metastasis to the breast bone). I…read morebegan aggressive chemotherapy in June, received a " bone building" infusion in August and aggressive radiation in November. My body was shot. I was exhausted, I couldn't eat, I was in pain, I was dizzy, my eyes had constant "flashing" and I lost 22 pounds. The only way to feel better was taking Xanax and going to sleep. At this point, I was eager to try anything. I met with Jenna virtually on Zoom end of November 2025. We had a great chat, she was so professional and just so pleasant. Reiki is a very relaxing experience. Afterwards, I feel lighter, freer, like something has been lifted. We met once a week and little by little everything began to improve. First my state of mind, then my energy, then my strength and finally my scans! I went from local metastasized breast cancer to four small lymph nodes left to eradicate in under six months and I'm no longer considered uncurable. This is a huge milestone. Yes I'm currently in treatment, but how can I feel better after a year and three months of treatments when chemo side effects are cumulative? How can all my symptoms be completely eradicated? Jenna, that's how. I've put 10 pounds back on, I meet friends for lunch, I do projects at home with my husband, and I exercise. I have my life back, minus the hair Haha. It seems to be about standing there shaking with exhaustion and pain, watching others out of the corner of your eye, trying to push yourself as though there's a race to win. Royal Yoga gets you back to basics. Every aspect of yoga is covered, from challenging asanas, through active standing and floor poses and pranayama (breathing techniques), as well as meditation techniques (with a crystal singing bowl!). Yes, you walk out of the studio with your ass thoroughly kicked, don't doubt it. It's a little more than that though, because due to the insight and talent of the skilled and empathic yogis there you might be shocked at what you were able to do, how gentle it was upon your body and how quickly is it helping you do all yoga can possibly do: get you in gorgeous shape, assist with focus and create a space within and without in which to be still. All of the yogis have different styles, but it's not a case of one in particular being the one to hit up every time. It's like tea: one day you feel like a nice black leaf with a little milk and honey, the next day you crave red rooibos and soon next week you'll want a good green sencha. There is no way to say which is better, because each hits just the spot that particular day. Since childhood, I have visited countless doctors, specialists, and therapists of all sorts. I never really clicked with any of them, or found them helpful at all. It always seemed that they were treating me as a collection of symptoms, and not a whole person with intricate struggles of my own.
