The pastries and cakes taste incredible, but what really sets it apart is the quality! 10/10 recommend!

My fiancé were in town for his work and decided to check out 318 restaurant after I perused their…read moremenu online. Boy, were we pleased with our meal! I started with a gummy bear cocktail, which was just like drinking a strawberry Jolly Rancher. Then my date & I were served toasted ravioli as our appetizer... they were perfect! Crispy on the outside, soft & tasy on the inside. The marinara complimented the ricotta and breaded pasta well. For my meal, I had some yummy fried shrimp with cocktail sauce. I was very pleased. My curly fried potato wedges (don't call them curly fries!) were crisp on the outside & soft inside. I really enjoyed them. My side of fruit & side salad with balsamic vinaigrette were fine, neither great nor terrible. My fiancé had some delicious chili, though it was cold when served. Out waitress obliged our request to reheat it & when it came back out, it was just right. The cornbread was moist, sweet, and "cakey." I'm from North Carolina &, let me just say, the cornbread was some of the best I've had in ages. The chicken sandwich was good. We ordered some cinnamon caramel pretzel bites (like cinnamon sugar balls) to go & I can attest that they didn't last long the next day when they were warmed up. Overall, this was a nice meal in a quaint Ohio downtown. Should we return to Lima, we'll stop in at 318 again!

Question: Who does…read morenot enjoy a good donut!? I am not speaking of a donut from your local DUNKIN (this is not a shot, dunkin-your iced coffee is boss! Lol). This spot got a second date out of me,and this time in, I wanted to show some yelp love. I have been to Lima Ohio more than I would like to share for reasons that are my own. Lol But finding this donut shop as I headed to the expressway was a joy! It's really simple. There is fried dough. There is fried dough flavored assorted items in all the ways fried and assorted lol(did you catch that?) And there is plenty of ways to have your fried dough at PAT'S! The word is that this place has multiple locations and Lima has 2. This location was my first stop. *waving at Adrianne* Adrianne works at this location and answered all my questions. She was so kind. Being I am a resident of Illinois, I was passing through for the last time in my life (I pray), I wanted a particular donut to bring home. They were out. No worries I shared, I will ride over to the other location I stated. Adrianne called for me! She was a doll! However, NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. *crying*. We were gonna see if they had the wonderfully fried dough at the other location, however after 4 calls, no one picked up. And guess what, they are open 24 hours!!! So strange. So, we grabbed a couple boxes of fried yum yum, and still drove over to the other location. New location-2102 Elida Road, Lima Ohio. There I spoke with Erica, after waiting 5 minutes for anyone to come and service me, in an empty doughnut shop with no customer's inside. Hmmmmm...*thinking*... Pretty busy place? The phone as I am waiting to see a human, is ringing off the charts!!!!!! And it does not stop! Nor did I see anyone answer it. It just kept ringing. Well, that answered the questioned about Adrianne calling and what the end result was at the other shop. When Erica emerged from the back, She greeted us. I explained i had come over from the other shop. And unfortunately the fried dough I came over to this location for-they were out of it as well. Apple fritters are clearly a hit! I know, I had 1 before. Lol! They are big, fresh fruit, nothing like I have eaten as an adult from the donut shops near my home! SO GOOD. I asked why no one ever answered the phone, she said they were busy with "DoorDash orders". They also sell breakfast sandwiches, breakfast pizzas, dessert pizzas.. Assorted sandwiches, soups and ice cream(soft serve). They have a variety of yum yum in this small spot. There were several workers in the back though... not sure what happened with those phone calls. But Erica was kind, she answered all my questions and even tossed a pastry in my bag on the house. *SCREAMING* THANK YOU ERICA! So, if yiu are ever in Lima Ohio for whatever reason, stop in and enjoy SOMETHING, as there is alot to choose from. But i suggest getting their sour dough doughnut/cream cheese donut. I place mine in the microwave for a few seconds to make it soft and warm.. OMG!!!! DEEEELIGHTFUL! As always, you don't have to take my word for it, GO GET YOU SOME!

The sloppy dog was pretty good the sub as expected but the cheese pizza was really good. It had that flavorful chewy cheese and a tangy sauce. As for the donuts we got mostly "filled sticks" which are long icing filled and covered with icing donuts. We loved the triple chocolate. Yum! The time to get food was a little long considering it was around 4pm. They do have a few table with chairs for dining there but best to take out.

The Met has a policy that your server gets to proudly wear a crown if their name is mentioned in a five star review. Love that policy!! Wear it proudly Ashely!! The Met is a unique building downtown Lima. It was built in the late 1880's and was originally home to the The Metropolitan Bank. It has since been morphed into a restaurant with very attractive original features. The wood floors and plaster ceilings...along with the attractive decor really enhance the dinning experience! The team here is very friendly, professional and welcoming. Ashley was outstanding. She hustled, knew her menu and had great recommendations. Ashley was very attentive and helped us enjoy the evening. I appreciated Liz stopping by and welcoming us. Liz shared lots of history and helped us appreciate the facility. The Met has a large food menu that has something for everyone. They have a large selection of beverages and specialty cocktails. All at reasonable prices. We started with a couple of Mule drinks. One was a designer St. Patrick's Day Mule and their specialty Met Mule. Both were very tasty, cool and refreshing . We started with the Focaccia bread appetizer. It had a lightly golden/chewing top with a soft and moist inside. Liz said that they make the bread fresh three times a day. The bread had a slight olive oil taste with a mild amount of Italian herbs. The soft whipped butter was a nice add. The side salad had lots of fresh spring greens. There was a few tasty tomatoes and lots of stronger tasting onions. The thin Parmesan cheese shreds were an excellent touch. The house ranch dressing was very smooth/light/creamy moderately thin with a mild ranch taste. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. The crust was thin and crispy. She really liked the ranch house made sauce and how it accented the meat toppings. I had the Met Meatloaf which had an outstanding meat flavor. The meat was made with Italian sausage which had a slightly spicy kick. It was moist and tender to go along the beefy taste. The smooth red sauce on top was slightly sweet & spicy. It accented the meat nicely. The mashed potatoes were real with lumps, eyes and minute peel pieces. Very smooth and delicious! The grilled asparagus had a slight crisp to go along with the tender stalk. Not much seasoning detected...just a nice olive oil taste. Overall a fantastic dinner experience. We sat street level and watched the pedestrians come & go while enjoying the decor of this unique facility! The menu is large and the food and drinks are outstanding. A special trip to The Met in downtown Lima is worth a try!

We arrived at 11:30 and left at 2. They were nice to let us linger. Everything we had was terrific. Soups are made in-house. I'm thinking most all things on the very large menu were probably very good. They seem to care about the details. We also shared some ice cream cookie sundae concoction that was 5*. Metered parking on the street and there was a free lot but it was full. Meters were $2 for two hours. Nice staff and there were no staff shortages! Lilly our server was perfect. If we pass through again we will stop in! The bar area is exquisite.
