First of all we waited and waited for a server to come. Our server waited on other tables before waiting on us. Once we placed our orders ( i ordered two eggs, toast and bacon and my brother ordered pancakes with banana pudding etc.) A pretty simple and quick order. Forty some minutes later, we still did not have our food, let a lone a glass of milk for my brother. Finally our server came to our table and told us that our food had not even been started. He had no idea as to where my slip for my order was and that my brother's order was not yet started. My brother has Parkinson's, and it is important to keep his food routine on a timely schedule. We were told that we could leave, no charge for us as we did not get out food. We left without getting any food or bring compensated for our time and long wait. I am really upset that we were treated so badly. I gave my server my name and phone number, expecting a written apology along with a coupon for another dinner. As of 24 hours later, not a response from Bob Evans. This is extremely sad. I had expected move from you.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink, so Alex recommended the Lavender 75, and I'm so glad he did. It was light, refreshing, perfectly floral, and paired beautifully with dinner. As for the food, I order the Pot Roast Sliders every single time because I truly think they're one of the best dishes in Cicero. This is, in my mind, a classic American small town diner. The kind of place I grew up, eating in my hometown of 500 people. It's not high cuisine, there's nothing fancy about the food although I did come across a few things I had never seen before on the menu. Fried mush. Meat grits specials, like the scuttle butt and the chili Bob. An age old, but perfected recipe of eggs, meat, cheese, and a starch either potatoes ( homefries) or toast. The coffee is weak and not much flavor to it but, to be honest, it's exactly what you would expect in a place like this and there's something comforting about that. Honest, simple food made day and a day out, catering to the local crowd and a few roadway, travelers like myself who happen to come across it. There's a certain charm and depth to places like this that have been lived in day and day out by the same people for decades. For those like up rounded, there's the nostalgia and connection to the many other people having the same experience day after day in communities across the United States. Its sleek lines and modern structure stand out among the modest buildings that surround it. Every inch of its interior and exterior are detailed in lavish sophistication. We stayed in the Spa Suite- a beautiful, spacious room with a deep soaking tub perfect for relaxing. Snacks, drinks and card games are within easy reach, tempting you from their station on the oversized desk (for a charge, of course). We skipped slipping into our robes and ordering room service and went down to the hotel bar instead. The bar offers a number of handcrafted cocktails, I was so conflicted about which to order that I told the bartender I would just go down the list- and she happily obliged. Dinner hadn't quite started yet so we ordered food from a limited lunch menu and made friends with the bar patrons. After all, it's still a small town and everyone around is incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, due to my overly enthusiastic cocktail buffet, I didn't make it to dinner. Luckily, I had a gorgeous room to stumble back to, and when I woke up, the minibar snacks and drinks truly saved my night. I absolutely think you get great value for the price of a stay here. You get the sophistication of a luxury hotel without the steep price and pretentiousness that you'd find at a similar hotel in a bigger city. I can't wait to return!
