The worst experience I have ever had at a spa! I purchased the $175 holiday special the weekend of the 4th of July in which an email confirmation was sent to me confirming my appointment. Upon arriving at my scheduled time, the owner, Abby, approached me trying to charge an extra $120 before even getting my massage. The owner informed me the special holiday package was only for Christmas, but why is it advertised in the beginning of July?? There is no details on the website specifying that the special was for Christmas! After going back and forth with the owner, I wanted to cancel my appointment due to the stress she brought upon me and as I was leaving...she said she'd charge my card a cancellation fee. I stayed to get my massage so they wouldn't charge an extra $100 cancellation fee. The massage was absolutely horrible, I put firm on my paper and the masseuse was administering a very light touch, her name was Tanya. Tanya did not listen to my needs and did as she pleased. I do not recommend this place, they are false advertising their prices and the massage was below standards. Do not go here if you know what's best for you. Super unprofessional, Abby was speaking to me like I was her child, and Tanya does not know how to listen to her clients on their needs for pain management. Do not recommend this place. read more

Best massage I've had! I went to Abby with a very tense back/neck that was causing my sciatic to really act up. Her massage was excellent and she gave me advice for follow up care at home. So I was writing this review in my head while lying on the table getting my massage. Abby works wonders for relaxation, tight spots, and tension in muscles. The pressure was perfect, no tickle spots like I usually get, the oil diffuser was not overpowering and made the room smell fantastic. I will definitely be seeing Abby again in the near future. My wife went to see Abby earlier this week and this is what she had to say: I've been having lots of back issues since having kids and massages went from relaxing to being painful and lots of work. I would always feel better afterward but never left feeling relaxed like before having kids because they worked me over really well. But not with Abby, she's amazing!! I left feeling like jello and slept so well that night. She did a wonderful job of working the spots that needed deep work, but also let me relax. Her pressure was perfect and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. She spent time asking what I needed and followed up by showing me some stretches I can do at home to help my back. Abby is amazing. I've been having issues with my glute and leg all the way down to my foot and she is able to feel the problem area and work it out. It requires deep tissue work and I'm so glad she isn't afraid to really get in there! I've had many massages in the past where it seems the therapist is just running through a checklist. Not Abby. i was introduced to Abby, i swear, by the grace of God. i had a long weekend of travel and upon returning to my spinning class on monday evening, i began experiencing an incredible back spasm. unsure of how i even finished class, i immediately began googling and talking to siri as soon as i got in my car, because i just couldnt wait to get home and to a computer. countless mega-massage outlet phone calls, a few private practices later, and nothing. within those phone calls was Abby- i didnt leave a voicemail. my night was about to get bad...how would i sleep? would i be able to move in the morning? left in a state of ibproufen and inhaling bananas, i was willing to accept it would just have to wait. 15 minutes later, my phone rang. a soft, kind voice was found on the other line. apologetic because i thought i had someone's personal phone number and i was calling at 8:00 p.m. i felt terrible when i found out that she does massage out of her home, in south riding, only 10 minutes from where i lived. she takes monday night appointments and although her last appointment had already occurred, she said she would see me anyways. now, i have been dealing with low-back problems (in addition to the spasm) since November. i cannot tell you how unbelievable i felt during and after this massage. i slept extremely well, and woke up with "less pinch" than usual. i immediately praised her to my family who knows the struggle i've had with my lower back and physical therapy. as rachel said, she's certainly strong, and definitely pinpointed some areas i didnt even realize were "tight." i joked with her and told her my yoga practice the next day was in for a treat with how great i felt." cannot wait to go back. read more

I just had the best massage of my life with Abby at Touch Therapeutic Massage - South Riding. I had terrible knots, stress pain in my shoulders and lower back & now I feel incredible. Abby is awesome!! She is professional, accommodating and kind. I came to her with pain in my right shoulder leading to my right hand. I was having trouble moving the fingers in my right hand without feeling pain. I asked Abby for a deep tissue massage for 90 minutes. She systematically worked my back applying the appropriate amount of pressure to each area. I left feeling the normal soreness after a deep tissue massage but feeling much better!! I am not sure about writing this review... I don't want anyone else to know about Abby! She is that good! Late one evening I was having serious upper back and neck issues. I sent her an email for an early appointment the next morning and within 20 minutes she sent me the times she was available the next day....A SUNDAY! She has a great little massage studio in her house that is calm, relaxing and very clean. The massage bed was perfect as well as room temperature. I had a deep tissue massage for 90 minutes and added on a head and neck treatment. Halfway through my massage I already felt much better. After my massage she gave me a cold bottle of water showed me some stretching techniques that will help between my sessions. I highly recommend her and can't wait for my next massage. read more

Wow! This was by far the best massage I have ever had. I had been feeling awful with a stiff neck, lower back pain and pain in my hips. Abby worked on my trouble spots and really relieved my pain. I had worked with a kinesiologist for 2 years to ensure continued mobility and manage pain, then moved to the Ashburn area, and neglected to focus on my body, and in hopes therapy was no longer needed. I found Abby reading through reviews. My expectations from a massage therapist are that there is an extensive understanding of physiology, active listening skills, and understanding of what the body tells you, as areas of the body are addressed. Medicinal massages are not for the faint of heart, or those who simply seek relaxation, or those who find pain intolerable. In my case they are an absolute necessity to manage pain, and retain mobility. I have had 4 sessions with Abby to date, due to extreme shoulder pain and very limited mobility in my right arm, and constant sharp and stabbing pain. The level of relief I experience after the excruciating treatments is invaluable, and I am glad I found an expert in my area. She did an excellent job targeting the specific areas which were hurting, and really worked out my muscles to help relieve the stress knots I had developed.
