UPDATE TO THE REVIEW BELOW: May 23, 2025 I have amended my star rating because Touchdown came out and redid the unleval gravel pad that I talked about in my previous review. You can see in the 2nd picture that it is now level and looks great. The 2 men that came out to do the work were very nice and communicative about what they were going to do. They listened to our input on what we expected and swiftly completed the job. ORIGINAL POST: Fall of 2024 Touchdown came out to dig out grass and install a gravel pad for our RV. Tim was present at the beginning, and then the men took over. Once the pad was finished, we parked our RV on it, and the 2 right side wheels were off the ground. Clearly, not level. Tim came back and coordinated with his men to level the gravel (i.e., pull rocks from one side of the pad to the other to level it.) When it was done, the RV did sit level on the rocks, but you can see that the back edging timber is not level, causing the pad to slope away from the house. Tim agreed that the timber should have been leveled and said they would come back and fix it. Winter arrived, and we didn't expect to have them come out then. However, once spring came, we texted and emailed Tim for information on when it would get fixed. It has been approximately 4 weeks, and we have heard nothing from Touchdown. TouchDown Services - clearly the gravel pad is not level - Landscaping Near Me - Minooka, Illinois

Touchdown came out last spring to re-level our back patio and replace the existing buried downspout lines (corregated plastic) with PVC lines and adding debris filters for leaves so that the lines wouldn't clog and continue to cause issues. Tim presented an excellent portfolio and the simple scope of work seemed manageable. When work started was when the problems began. Even with buried lines clearly marked, Touchdown workers sliced through our buried cable line. Their solution was to electrical tape it back together and call it a day, but my wife works from home and had to deal with the headache. Additionally, after a few weeks of working, we needed to call the cable company out to run a new line, which again was a major hassle. One of the existing buried drain lines was not routed to the same spot, which was further back in the property line. This has caused new water drainage issues closer to the center of my yard. The installed debris filters on the downspouts were not connected to their bases properly. This caused leakage around the sides of the drains (not just the typical "splash" associated with these filters). After multiple calls Touchdown came back out to make adjustments. However, the issues continued and I had to again make multiple calls and messages to Touchdown with videos of the issue to get them to come back out. Pam, their receptionist screens all calls and insists they are coming back out, but it to a direct call to Tim to get the process going. He said they would need to remove the debris filters and just bury the lines. I told him this was not what we wanted since we needed the filters to prevent clogs. I mentioned a sealed debris filter system and asked if this could be installed, but he said he had never heard of such a system. His workers returned in NOVEMBER without a heads up call to me, told my wife they were repairing the debris filters and got to work. They removed the filters entirely and broke the wooden gate to my backyard in the process. Before they left, they told my wife we would need gutter screens installed since the downspouts would now get clogged. I have been calling and messaging them since November to try and rectify the issue. They have not called me back, even though I have been more than accommodating and understanding. Truly a horrendous experience and a poorly ran company. I would not recommend them for any services. read more

We used TouchDown to remove a tree and level our yard for a pool. They also provided sand as the base. They were professional and showed up on time and complete job as agreed upon. There were a few issues that arose in our yard, but they handled them and still completed the job on time and budget. read more

I would suggest using another lawn care company other than Touchdown Inc. We previously used True Green for our (spring, summer & fall lawn care) fertilizing, grub control and fall aeration/overseed. We switched to Touchdown only because we found out that True Green wasn't treating our landscaped area's for grub control because they use a combined weed killer/grub control treatment and did not want to inadvertently kill our shrubs with the weed killer. Otherwise we never had an issue with weeds with True Green and our lawn looked great. I should mention the pricing for Touchdown was a bit higher than what TG was charging us. Fast forward to using Touchdown's service (again because they could treat our landscaped areas for grubs separately). We now have an issue with weeds (thistle, dandelions, clover and some kind of ground cover weed that branches out over grass). I called them out to "spot check," the weeds as was explained to me by Pam the office manager. She argues that my husband did not complain when their guy came back. ? I thought I just called them to come out for that very reason. ??? The weed issues were still present so my husband and I decided to go back to True Green once the contract was over. We just completed the contract with TD and....I simply pulled the weeds by hand. I also had issues communicating with Pam the office manager. She is not the type of employee who puts an effort into customer retention. She is defensive and argumentative, so don't question the wording on their contract. She doesn't care. And FYI they invoice you by email so don't look for an itemized bill in your door or in the mail. I requested her to mail them when the bill was overlooked by us in email. She made it clear that they prefer to email invoices and that most of their customers accept invoices just fine that way. Not a terribly abnormal request, right? So look elsewhere. The headache you get from dealing with office alone isn't worth it! read more

We were planning on using this company as our lawn service based on on next door neighbor and other neighbor's recommendation. All we wanted was a lawn evaluation from the company. They jerked us around for 3 weeks putting it off for several reasons. Last week they apologized and said someone would come out this week to look at our lawn. When my wife called to confirm, the first lady set our time for an opening this week. A little while later, a second lady from the company called my wife back and grilled her about why we wanted someone to look at our lawn. She told them we wanted an evaluation before starting their services. This second lady basically said they didn't have time for that, but had jerked us around for 3 weeks stating someone would come to look at our lawn. When my wife said that we really wanted to have someone look at our lawn before performing any services, all the lady could do was state they didn't have time because all they were doing now was lawn aeration and seeding. Both services we would have used if someone would have just come out to look at our lawn and come up with a plan for our lawn moving forward with this company. They were not interested in that. They just wanted to perform the services for us without actually doing what we were asking. A pretty simple request if you ask me. I guess we will have to look elsewhere for these services from a company that actually wants to help us with our lawn problems, consult with us, instead of just selling us services without physically seeing what we actually need by looking at our lawn. Note: I am willing to give this company a chance and remove this review or edit it if someone from their company will just contact us to perform a review of our lawn in person like they said they would do until their rude receptionist or customer service agent blew us off today. Otherwise, it remains and we will find a lawn company that can perform customer service for their customers and provide the service they request. read more

Tim and his team were quick and professional. We were able to turn my vision of my yard into reality quicker then I thought possible.

Touchdown Services isn't very good. We hired them to some fall clean up in our yard. They trimmed some bushes, but didn't haul away the clippings. They also tore up ground cover that has been growing for 20 years. So now there is bare dirt. Finally, they managed to knock down and/or break about half of the Malibu lights. I recently used Touchdown to update a neglected back yard that has potential. They worked with me on what I wanted to do and gave great feedback. I was able to use many of the perennials that I had and added things. The pricing was fair. I can't wait to enjoy my yard this summer. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

If you are looking for snow removal or landscaping for an Association, look elsewhere. You will NOT get your money's worth. And there will be hidden charges throughout the season. Their contract is vague and just mentions additional costs for things that are subjective but no dollar figure. read more

Look elsewhere..... plenty of good lawn services in the area. They are expensive and didnt do that good of a job. I paid for them to haul away the sticks and clipping but come home to 10 lawn bags sitting on driveway. I never received a bill I even called twice with no callback. 3 months later I get a call from them looking for a payment. After I said I'll pay it right now they still felt the need to threaten me with going to collections. Once again much better and more professional places out there. read more

If I was able to give no stars I would. I should have know not to use this company after calling the office and having the phone answered by a woman who was slurring her words and unable to put a sentence together. Mind you this was at 10AM and to appear intoxicated on the phone was my first red flag. I decided to go ahead and hire them to mow my industrial lot and was surprised to find out that they had no clue how to cut grass. After they argued with me that they came out to cut the grass I sent multiple emails and pictures to the Office Manager of the grass being over 6 inches and dandelions standing higher in they sent a a crew out. This crew did a half a** of a job. Nothing was cut to the same height the hedges that they trimmed were murdered. I ended up hiring a different company to correct their sorry attempt to cut grass and had to replace all my hedges. I will never higher them again and urge every one to run from this company. They do not deserve to be in business. read more

Contacted Unilock to get an estimate for a brick paver patio. Touchdown Services was the local contractor for them. Tim from Touchdown came out to give me the estimate and addressed all of my concerns adjusting the job to fit my needs. He answered every question thoroughly. I received referrals from neighbors and estimates from other contractors. Another contractor may have been a little cheaper, but he was also not as responsive to my questions or concerns. Especially when it came to getting it in writing. Tim gave me a very fair price and got the job done in one day. My husband and I couldn't believe how meticulous he was with the small details. He clearly strived for perfection even in the cleanup leaving it looking better than when he arrived. We are very happy with the work he performed for us. I would highly recommend Tim from Touchdown Services and would contact them for future work without question. read more

I liked the job that they did but very shortly after there was weeds everywhere. I was very specific when I spoke to the designer that I had a problem with weeds and that was my biggest concern. They advised against any type of weed blocker and basically said I just need to pull them more frequently. All I seem to do is try to keep up with the grass and weeds that come through but I figured I would just make more time to keep up with that. After winter, a lot of things did not come back, most importantly a tree that I paid a lot for. They said I had a one year warranty on everything so I called and asked them to come out and replace it. They kept scheduling a date and would not show up and I would keep calling. After a few months of this someone finally came out and planted something but it is definitely not the tree I had paid for. I am done with them and going to go somewhere else where I can get what I pay for. read more
