I am new to Alabama and unfortunately my cancer has returned. I made an appointment for a wig and was pleasantly surprised at their selection of wigs. The employee who helped me was excellent - she took her time with me and, when asked gave me her opinion on how the wigs looked. I also had a partial mastectomy 20 years ago and as I was leaving I was going to make an appointment to be fit for a bra when Carol, the owner said she would do it then. She was able to fit me with a comfortable bra that I was able to take home that day. I would highly recommend Touching You. Rudest people ever. The only reason they are still in business is because there is no other competition. Every person in this office is condescending and "bothered" by customers. They have one person at a time in but act like they are so busy they can not get anything done. And did I mention rude? To work with this type of clientele, you would think they would be full of caring and compassion. Not hardly. Someone buy this shop and make it what it should be!! read more

For a company that is dedicated to women with cancer or having breast reconstructive surgery they are not very compassionate. I went to them to get sized for a compression bra after a breast reduction, the lady sizing me instructed me not to take the post op bra off even though I was at a point in my recovery that I could but hey I'm not the expert so I thought this was normal. They told me flat out that insurance wouldn't cover the bra because it was "just a reduction" even though they didn't check. I went home, called my insurance and yes they do cover 2 bras after breast reduction surgery. I don't expect them to check everyone's insurance but if you set yourself up as a "doctor's office" appointments and all then you might want to act like one and advise that the "patient" check with their insurance. I received the bra today and it was an extra small size, I called to double check that this was the size that I was measured for prior to opening the packaging because they don't allow for refunds. The lady tells me "well that is the size that YOU wanted because if YOU remember YOU said the small size was too big" Well, I'm not the expert here. I tried it on and it does fit but it is not as comfortable as I would have hoped and I probably would have noticed this if I would have been instructed to take my post op bra off to get a better sense of the bra she was advising me to have. I will have to put pads around the band for it not to rub on the incisions. On a side note I got a better, 1/4 the cost, more supportive bra on Amazon and they let you return it if it doesn't fit (imagine that) read more

Wow! I'm not the only one that found people who work at Touching You rude! And, the rudest, most condescending person was the owner. I have done business with Touching You since 2000, and I have always worked with Debbie who is wonderful! This time my encounter was by phone as I don't live nearby. I was asking if my prescription for breasts prostheses had arrived, and I was concerned that this was the first time my primary care doctor had been asked to send it. I called 4 times over the course of a week, and each time I was treated as if I were a huge nuisance. The owner kept repeating that it was my responsibility to get the prescription (which I clearly understood) and that I would need to make an appointment for a consultation. I had no intention of driving 3 1/2 hours for an appointment, and I got tired of dealing with the rudeness, unprofessionalism, arrogance, etc.......so good riddance to Touching You! read more

It's so nice to have a store dedicated to helping people while they are going through cancer treatments. I needed a wig & hats & a special bra. They also have a soothing serum that I continue to buy 15 years post treatment just because it's so good. Nice people, too. read more

Very callous and unsupportive. The owner said I should have had both breasts removed because it is so hard to match my existing breast with a prosthesis. (Isn't that their job???) Very condescending. read more

The owner was so rude. She over talked me and didnt hear that my mother may not get out of the hospital. She said oh she will feel better and come in. I was trying to buy a wig for my mother and this woman was so insensitive. You have to be sensitive to people and THEIR feelings. Just crappy, I cant believe a person that works with cancer patients and their families would be so rude!!!!! read more

Absolutely rude. I can't believe that someone would speak to a cancer patient like she did. Was rushed the whole time and I've never in my life heard someone speak the way she did to a cancer patient at that! One would think that to be in this line of work that the employees/owner would be patient, understanding, empathetic, and sensitive to the matter at hand. It was hard for my aunt to even accept her hair loss, that would be difficult for anyone, but to be told things that I won't even repeat is inexcusable. This should have been a beautiful moment for my aunt to feel pretty and secure and to learn about wigs and find something beautiful for her but instead the lady said that if she was going to buy a wig she would have done it already and said she has her own life and rushed everyone out the door. If you are looking for help finding a wig and to be treated hospitable and with respect for why you are there in the first place, I would recommend not to go here. I'm not the one to leave upsetting information on someone's business but when they cross the line, something needs to be said. I hope this establishment takes my feedback and tries to be more sensitive to ur own clientele. You could have been a hero for my aunt today but instead you shoved insults at her and that is never okay. With all do respect Maybe you should have some sensitivity training. read more
