I had such a wonderful time taking the train from Vancouver to Lake Louise in July The Gold Leaf package was the way to go, with the glass top trains. The seats were comfortable, the service was attentive, the meals were high quality and delicious, and the views were absolutely spectacular. As we boarded, the crew members introduced themselves made us feel welcome. They reviewed the amenities, the itinerary, and some history. They also relayed a few personal perspectives and connected with the guests. As we passed through historical areas, we were told interesting stories and fun facts. The lower level is the dining area. Tablecloths, silverware, the works. Food was gourmet quality, with several choices on the menu. I found everything delicious. Snacks and drinks were offered throughout the trip. The train only runs during daylight hours, when sightseeing is best. In the first evening, we were at Kamloops in a pre-booked hotel. They even checked in prior to arrival and handed us keys. Then we arrived at Lake Louise, they did that as well. Everything went so smoothly. And lastly, the views. Oh, the views. A few photos here and there, but it's best to just put down the phone and take everything in. Between the cars, there is an area to take in the fresh air and admire nature without glass in between.

This is a unique experience that we had from Banff to Vancouver. It was a 2 days trip and we stopped at Kamloops for 1 night. We booked Silver Leaf. Food: food was amazing. Their chefs were really good at feeding us. The presentation, preparation and the amount of food were great. The drink is unlimited. They also have non dairy option. They were really good at accommodating everyone diet preference. Staff: they were professional and knowledgeable everywhere we passed by some attractions. They always informed us the history, attraction, picture spots, wildlife... they checked on us frequently. Accommodations: the seat was comfortable and has a lot of leg room. We have wide view window to enjoy the scenery. Our hotel in Kamloops was decent. I wished we arrived not too late so we could do laundry Service: they don't have wifi on board, which is one of the disadvantage, and I could not keep up with all my work emails. The staffs took care of your luggages really well. You took luggages to the room, and brought them out for us. We didn't have to do anything. Transportation is provided. Overall, it was a great experience for us. I think it's more suitable for leisure type of vacation for retired folks because everything was taken care of from a-z. The scenery was insane.

We absolutely loved our train ride from Banff to Vancouver. The train was such a unique experience as we got to see the countryside and go places most people don't go. The drinks were nonstop, which we loved. The train crew were super knowledgeable and had big cozy seats. Also the food was outstanding. I went in with little expectation as to what we'd get as train food. And it was def up there with fine dining. Some of the best steelhead trout I've I ever had. Everyone was so great and the overall experience was wonderful. We can't wait for our next adventure on the Rocky mountaineer!!

Bottom Line: A luxurious, relaxing and scenic 354-mile, two-day train ride between Moab, UT and Denver, CO that was challenging to plan due to limited information from Rocky Mountaineer. This review is for Rocky Mountaineer's (RM) new-ish route in the United States called Rockies to the Red Rocks. I'm including the details on this experience in case they are helpful to others considering this trip. Service = Excellent. We had Silver Leaf Plus tickets. Our onboard host, bar tender, chef and the Train Manager were fabulous! Our host was personable, fun, told great stories and kept the drink cart rolling. Here's a shout out to Billy, Kendra, Savina and Chris for making our trip incredible. Scenery = Excellent. We loved the scenery including Arches National Park, dramatic gorges and canyons, the meandering Colorado River, wildlife and the Big 10 Curve. We enjoyed the scenery between Glenwood Springs and Denver the most. The train travels at a leisurely 35 mph on average. Comfort of Train = Excellent. We found our seats to be comfortable with plenty of leg room and a sizable tray table. We loved the tall ceilings and huge windows. As Silver Leaf Plus passengers we also had access to two lounge cars that were also comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. Comfort of Hotel = Poor. On the Rockies to the Red Rocks trip you stay in a hotel one night in Glenwood Springs. RM picks the hotel and we were given keys (the metal jingly type) to a room at The Hotel Denver. Our room was clean but dated, needed some maintenance and worse of all it didn't have a real window! Food and Drinks = Excellent. We enjoyed everything that was served to us including diet Coke, premium spirits and delicious meals. For dinners we had choices of two entrees whereas lunch was more like a variety of tapas on a single plate. RM accommodates dietary restrictions. Ease of Booking Logistics = Poor. Not being familiar with either the Moab, UT or Denver, CO area I was baffled how to make a one-way trip work. Logistics are easy in Denver since it is a big city but logistics in Moab were much more challenging. When I asked RM about transfers initially I was told they didn't offer any. And when I asked how do people get to isolated Moab for a one-way train trip I was told, almost verbatim, "I don't know what people do" with no further offer to help. I debated giving up at that point but after doing lots more research here is what I learned for a train ride starting in Moab: * You can fly into Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY) commercially on either SkyWest dba United Airlines or Delta. * If you want to splurge for a charter, Redtail Air is the reputable private aviation company in Moab. * Rental cars are available at the airport through Enterprise, Alamo and a Jeep rental company. * Uber and Lyft aren't really a thing in Moab. * For rides from the airport to the town of Moab (~ 20 miles away) or around town schedule with reliable Moab Express. * We flew into Canyonlands, rented a car through Enterprise and then when we returned our car to Enterprise at the airport and needed to get back into town we booked a ride with Moab Express. * Unless you booked your hotel through RM they will require you to go to the Moab Adventure Center where they will pick you up in a bus and take you to the train departure point. So once again, since Uber and Lyft aren't a thing, call Moab Express for a ride or start walking. * Logistics in Denver are much easier. When we arrived in Denver we were bussed to Union Station and we independently booked a stay at the station's hotel, The Crawford hotel. To get to the Denver airport we took the Lightrail, A-line train from Union Station. * I later learned that you can do transfers from Las Vegas and Salt Lake City but at least for 2021 it was basically a bus trip and I heard its dismal. I hear rumors that they now offer flightseeing trips to make the connection in Moab but I don't know that for sure. Other notes: * 2021 was the inaugural year for the Rockies to the Red Rocks trip and IMO they are still working out the kinks. * RM does not have the rights to use Denver Union Station so the train stops shy of the station and then guests are bussed to the station. Similarly, in Moab, there isn't a station at all so passengers board at a siding just north of town. * In 2021 RM was using UP locomotives but they now have their own two diesel-electric locos with the RM livery. * Speaking of UP, they own the right of way (tracks) on which the RM travels and absent priority RM is often late. * The top of the dutch door on the vestibules are open but take turns.

Very expensive but wonderful experience! Peter and Brando were our top shelf informative and truly entertaining hosts on the way east to Lake Louise. Food was pretty good, portions small for the big guys but fine for me, and they accommodated my gluten and dairy-free needs welI. Liquor is served three times a day (at least). The ride back from Lake Louise to Kamloops then Vancouver was a little less exciting, but our hosts Bernadette, Sian and Uivek helped entertain us and were great at pointing out wildlife, including Big Horn Sheep, which was very cool. Beware - a lot of the trip you have tall greenery on both sides so you miss some sights, but honestly, how long can you look at drop dead gorgeous lakes and mountains? Bring a book. (Aussies on board also entertained). And expect delays, at least we had them between the fires, a passenger emergency and other trains. Pack a few snacks - you can arrive at your hotels after restaurants are closed.

Located near the end of Chinatown, on Pender Street, I found this place back in the middle of 2006. When you go in, you see 7 - 8 big desk, one on each side. The funny thing is the sign above each desk, as they tell you what language the agent at that desk can speak. Most of the Asian language's are covered. I have to give credit to the one person that has helped me for all my travel needs for the past 4 years. Her name is Carrie, and I have recommended her to a number of my friends and collegues. She has always been helpful getting quotes for flights for me, and she also looks at other dates to try to save me money. All the quotes that I have been give are always after tax, and she has been able to beat online prices. Also the convience of dealing with payment over the phone, and emailing me the itenerary has been great. If you plan to book your next flight, give this place a try, I'm still using it to this day. Also if you are flying to Asia and you need a China Visa, they can help you do it for an extra $10, which is way better than you wasting your day (and your life away) at the China embassy trying to get one!

We were happy and excited to working with her but it wasn't long before all that ended. We asked her for guidance on which area and resort to visit. Her attempt to inform us was vague and disorganized. She already had certain hotels that she wanted to recommend.... but we hadn't even decided on the geographical location yet. Then when it was time to talk about resorts, she pushed really hard on certain resorts... some that we had been to before (and wouldn't visit again). We did our own research and asked her for pricing and availability. It took weeks to hear back. And it was only partial information. I (the bride) couldn't stand it anymore and had to have my husband talk to her on the phone. We finally picked our own hotel with absolutely No help from Susan... but then the confusion and incompetence began with booking us and our guests. She could not figure out that we wanted to arrive two days early... "there is no package for 10 days" etc.... book separate flights then! We had to walk her through how to help us book into an unusual vacation length. Next was booking in our Guests. She was supposed to have a handle on this... "we wouldn't have to follow up with anyone" that was part of what they promised. But that didn't happen. Manu of our guest had difficultly getting payment or requests to her. And I guess she was afraid to pick up the phone in certain cases but in one instance she was going to charge the room to another guest who had the same last name... ya they are related, but that doesn't mean they are paying together! There are other examples of her inadequate service, but I won't go on. Overall, I was extremely disappointed in the service rendered at Escapes. They received quite a bit of $$ from our trip and none of it was deserved. I considered so many time foregoing our deposit and going elsewhere but I stuck it out. The important thing is that we made it through. The wedding and the vacation were amazing but this was certainly not because of escapes. The were a pain to work with and inhibited the creativity in the planning process... not recommended!
