I used to love coming to this place - I would say in the past it had the best macaroons in town. I used to come here and meet clients or study. Unfortunately the quality of the bake goods are not good. The macaroons are hard - they are no lounger soft and chewy- they are also a lot smaller! The other bake goods, such as the crepe cake - complete flavorless and the texture is off. The atmosphere is also not the same, the place looks a bit worn, the tables are pealing off. They are not keeping up with the decor, looks dusty and old. It's sad to see the place go down like that. Hopefully they can revamp the place and go back to their prior recipes for the bake goods. I love the atmosphere-very chic and laid back. The only thing that I liked from there was their coffee. There is a lot of students that take up the space for studying so you could feel obligated to keep your noise at a minimal. I was very impressed by Tout Suite the last time I went. There was a guy calling out drinks in a really really deep booming voice and everybody loved it. They were packed but service was too notch (coming from somebody in the service industry) and the energy between the team was great. Shout-out to the booming voice guy, the girl with the metal/punk band shirt for whipping up drinks super fast and the friendly kid with the long black painted fingernails. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant with a vanilla latte. My latte was ready on time. I've been waiting 15 minutes for the croissant, and still waiting. The girl who took my order is sitting at the side counter, eating. Nobody is currently in line, nor are there orders being taken. Tout Suite needs to reconsider how they take orders, or at least how the fill them. This is a recurrent issue, but unfortunately is one of the only shops easily accessible via UH campus. read more

The spot is dope but 8 words: YUM, BUM FIGHTS, and GET YOUR F**KING WIFI RUNNING. This is the most frustrating cafe because the food is good (not the best coffee, super weak depending on you palate, but it will do) ----but the WiFi is pinche terrible. Good thing I have Xfinity. So I believe this is the same company as sweet in city centre... Only because the box that we received our macarons in said "sweet"... This is a very large place with ample seating... I like the decor and atmosphere... It's like a trendier, quieter Starbucks... You can see people "working" on the laptops with their coffee or juice... We only came for the macarons... My boyfriend really wanted an ice cream sandwich one but the lady really didn't sell us on the available flavors so we got regular ones... Large selection... We got a box of 8... And a juice... Spent about $26 I think... I should add that the tiramisu and creme brûlée flavors are $1 extra... Seems a bit high but I can't argue or barter lol I know how hard it is to make a macaron... After going a handful amount of times I have finally decided on my rating. Honestly. The first few times I was totally "whatever" about the place cause I thought it was over hyped and such. Whenever I used to come in, I felt like the employees gave me a vibe that they were too cool for me. After the last few visits though, I think I actually do like the place as a whole. First off, the decor is everything I could ask for. The chalkboard doodles, the handwriting on the walls, the cute DIY jars hanging from the ceilings, the succulents at each table, the lights, the little signs that say the name of each pastry. Everything is well thought out and everything goes well with everything. There is one wall that has a pop of color with the citrus fruits and the contrast of color was pretty. I'm not much of a macaron fan but theirs is the only ones I can really eat because it has such a nice flaky outside and soft on the inside. People don't know how much detail it takes to make these things that's why they're expensive but it is even harder when putting fruit inside because it can dry out or even make the whole thing soggy. Their juices are kicking with flavors everyday. I have tried the lavender lemonade, the grapefruit/thyme/cane sugar and watermelon juice. Some better than others but fun to see what interesting flavors they think of everyday. Their tonics are really strong but really healthy for you. One of the employees recommended me one that was good for hair and nails. I had to choke it down so make sure you have the stomach for it. And the reasoning for the juices being pricey is because you get to keep that bottle. My sister actually has gotten a new obsession with this place and is collecting the bottles and jars she gets. What got me today was the service I got with from this kind gentleman who had those curly French-looking mustaches. I feel terrible for not knowing his name but he really made my day feel better because of his positive, outgoing personality. The atmosphere and architecture of the place is really nice and unique. I enjoyed spending some time there observing the space and devouring my meal, along with a refreshing green tea (which i highly recommend). I was able to find parking, but it could be difficult if you aren't lucky to catch someone leaving a space. Overall, I would recommend this place and go back after my one-time visit. One of the best experiences I've had from an establishment in a while. Service was amazing, food was phenomenal, and coffee was perfectly prepared! Came last night around 11pm and stayed till close. The inside is a modern wood meets industrial feel that is welcoming to people on dates or people needing to study. I have been to Memorial Mall and tried the sister store and was happy that the experience here was completely different. Some quick highlight: *Macaroons are soft and flavorful * Coffee is better than that mochchockabullshit you get from Starbucks. *Juices are freshly made and refreshingly wonderful. Only negative I have to say about it,is that it is more pricy than your average low dollar shop but the quality is worth it! You get what you pay for! What we ordered; My date got a juice that had lavender,lemonade, and dragon fruit. (Amazing!) I myself got a cappuccino extra dry, we also helped ourselves to a chocolate croissant (warmed) a hazelnut bombe, and a white raspberry , and also a pistachio macaroon. WOW. I did not expect to see so many reviews for this place already. Then again, I have been gone since November so maybe this place lit afire in my absence. My first experience at Tout Suite was in search of a study/productivity space outside the normal Montrose crush. I use to live downtown (before all the bars,etc popped up) and bemoaned the coffee scene. TS starts strong with a great, post-industrial space. You know the furnishings. Exposed brick, lots of woods and metals, blackboards. The high ceilings and dual level seating set it apart from the average place. Plus, it is SPACIOUS. I guess that's what you can do in EaDo (is it technically?). I only ordered a cold brew and cookie for a snack and both were fine. Nothing stellar, but certainly enjoyable. I will say that one of the stronger elements of this place is the staff. Incredibly friendly, playful, and aiming to please. They made me feel very welcome as if wanting to see me regularly. Overall, this is probably closer to a 4.2. The biggest ding is location. Parking is fine; there just isn't really much immediately around it. Perhaps its ambition is to be an anchor for future development in that direction? If so, best of luck. If you want a place with solid food, desserts, and cafe drinks, as well as a clean presentation and intimate ambience, Tout Suite is the place. I have yet to try much of their food menu, but my relatively wide experience of their sweets gives me some authority to speak to that. Their desserts, including the gourmet cupcakes and macarons, are made on site, and they are great. The macarons are some of the best I've ever had - the lemon blackberry and creme brulee iterations are both unique and absolutely delicious. All the macarons have the perfect shell in terms of bite and body, and the fillings are rich and accurate to their proclaimed favors. I am not a coffee drinker, but my coffee snob friends seem to be quite satisfied with quality of their coffee. As a casual tea drinker, I can say that their teas are satisfying and bold in flavor. One of my favorite aspects of Tout Suite is the environment. It definitely oozes hipster from the decor and aesthetic, but I feel totally comfortable as a non-hipster studying, eating, and hanging out with good company. The variety of seating options make it accommodating to a variety of activities, from individual studying to group hangouts to dates. From my perspective, it lacks the aura of pretentiousness that many hipster, high-end cafes exude, making it an accessible and enjoyable spot. It is also very spacious, making it relatively easy to find a spot, and even come with a sizable group. Another appreciated element is the personnel, who are quite amicable and helpful in picking food and drink, and having some casual conversation. Overall, I hold Tout Suite as a favorite spot for casual, late-night hangouts and enjoyable desserts. I definitely plan on trying more of their savory menu, so I have more excuses to spend time there, as does anyone else looking for some solid Americana. The fact that I have to come to Yelp to record my most recent experience is despicable. My husband and myself come here everyday for either breakfast or lunch but after today Tout Suite has lost our business going forward. When you have a service establishment customer service is key. You guys dropped the ball today and it's crazy because all the workers seem as if they don't give any shits about customers but the ambience here is very pleasant so ignored that part. On today Tout turned us away because we paid with $100 bill. We were told there was no change and that we needed to get out of line. Instead of going to the back and getting the change (like other cashiers have done for us), we asked for the manager and the manager told us he wasn't going to provide change. I could understand and respect that if our order was under $10 but it wasn't, it was $23 and some change. To some this might seem petty but no it's the principle. Service businesses can be made or broken just alone with their customer service. So Tout suite can choke on a dick. read more

For a split second,I thought I was in Stumptown PDX! This is a place you would find in the Pacific Northwest and NOT HTX ,but what a pleasant surprise it was. Had me some fresher brewed coffee with a free refills and pretty good speed on the wifi. Later on I had the munchies and got myself a BLT with a fried egg that hit the spot! Good to see that Houston is becoming a bit more hip and these sorts of places keep coming up. I stumbled upon this place on Instagram from someone I followed. They were listed as a suggestion. I saw all the pictures on their page and knew I had to check them out. Once I got here, I could tell it was it by the white and black building and their symbol on the doors. It's a very cozy place and also a great place to work, which is where I am writing this post. It's somewhat noisy but as I began to write, the noise cancelled out. The lights are dim, the furniture is all wood. It reminds me of a type of lounge, that also happens to serve food. When you walk in, you are just above street level. They have a lower level that is at street level. They have to areas to order food so the line doesn't get long and they have an area to order just a drink, which I find very convenient if you just want a coffee or latte. The staff is very friendly and upbeat. The woman who took my order was very accommodating. I order their toast options and I did the combination, but had them switch out the salmon toast for another mushroom. She made sure to put my order in all caps that I was vegan so they would not use butter or add cheese to it. I was very impressed with how nice she was in making sure that my order was completely vegan, even going back and talking to the chef and asking the manager if it was okay to substitute the salmon. The one thing that I didn't like was the restroom is co-ed. Yes you read that right. There are I believe 6 or 8 stalls, half on each side and they are divided by the sinks. I was confused going in because a man was coming out and I thought I had not listened correctly when told where the restrooms were, behind the sliding barn door. That was my only negative about the place. They also have what is called The Annex, which is a coworking space where people can come to work, collaborate, hold meetings or if you need an office space outside of the house, you can get a private room. I'm actually considering getting one because I do work from home, but sometimes I get lazy and comfortable and don't really get anything done. They also have a kitchenette where you can store or heat up your food. So it's like an office except you are working for yourself. I had actually been looking for a coworking space, and here one fell into my lap. The best way to get repeat vegan customers to a non vegan restaurant is to have vegan options on the menu, actual vegan options, not salads. A lot of non vegan restaurants think that a way to serve vegans is to have salads. I'm here to tell you that's more of an insult if anything.  I found out through their The Annex rep, who told me that they now have a vegan falafel sandwich and me being a falafel lover, I was in.  Before I get into the food, I did speak to one of the managers and he explained that they are in the testing stage and seeing what people like and are requesting. They do not have this sandwich all the time, mainly on Friday, and throughout the weekend, or until it sells out, then they go on to a different vegan item. The goal is to have a complete vegan menu. They do not have vegan desserts at the moment, however, they will be coming soon. The sandwich comes in the form of like mini sliders, with fries. I used to be a salty fry person, meaning I loved my French fries hypertension salty, but since becoming vegan, my taste buds have changed. Their fries are lightly salted, and when I say lightly, I mean lightly, which is a good thing because we shouldn't be consuming so much salt anyway.  The sandwich consists of pesto, cucumber, falafel, lettuce and tomato. I loved the pesto, though I think hummus or a vegan tzatziki sauce would be good to add or have the option of it. It is on toasted ciabatta bread and it's very flavorful for and filling. I would definitely get this again. They also have other vegan options like their avocado toast, which is killer and their mushroom toast. For my drink I had a chai tea latte with almond milk and to be honest, I think they have Starbucks beat. I am a huge Starbucks chai tea latte fan, so for them to beat Starbucks is a win. I would also suggest they add coconut milk, or different nondairy milks for people who have nut and soy allergies.  If you're in Houston or just visiting, make sure to give Tout Suite a try. read more

I come here this morning for brunch. Such a busy and nice atmosphere. It's perfect for a Saturday morning brunch. The foods are such amazing masterpieces. I have Chicken and Eggs. I think of it as an American style food but it comes out to kinda like an Asian fusion with curry chicken and sunshine eggs on the top. The spices are well mixed and the bread is crunchy. I normally stop by to work for an hour (that is the max per purchase) and drink coffee. This morning was horrible service. I'm not sure if the two girls at the front was having a bad day or what. I asked for help twice with wifi and no one assisted me. I was the only person in there this morning at the time, so i do not understand why i wasnt helped. I live down the street and used to come here quite often and had a good experience. In maybe the last 3 months or so I've only had poor experiences here. The people behind the counter are always short with you when you are asking questions, expressing a concern or just plain ordering. I could forgive that except that they have completely forgotten about my order on a couple occasions. Once when I brought it to their attention, I was needing to leave for a meeting and didn't have time to wait, I told them I would like to get a refund and they were very rude and acted like it was an impossible task to reimburse me. Went here on a Monday afternoon for coffee and to check out the desserts. The decor and ambiance were very trendy. Dessert and display counter was very tempting. I got the banana pudding and raspberry mousse as well as an Americano. Drink took a minute to come out and being it was my first time, the staff didn't make it very clear that they were gonna call the order out when ready. It was a bit awkward getting this info from the barista too. Banana pudding was nothing special. Mousse was good but could do without the thin cake base it was on. I really like this place for breakfast (love the waffles!) and lunch though they are a little pricey for the portion sizes. The baked goods can be hit or miss for me. I like the biscotti and cookies but often find the cupcakes overly sweet. The specialty coffee drinks can get expensive, and I think the Cafe Sua Da is around $6 (but you get a credit for bringing back the glass bottle, I believe) but I love to stop in for a daily black. Make sure you specify that your order is to go, though, and order the size you want for the posted price. I don't love that they seal their iced coffee beverages like tapioca places do, so they have to add the cream and sugar for you. I'm very particular so I would prefer to have the option of going off to the side, taking my time with it, and adding a lid later. I also wish they would open a little earlier on the weekends, even just for coffee and baked goods - I always forget that they aren't an option until 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. All of that said, if you ask me, I will mostly tell you that I love Tout Suite. It serves the "what do you want to do after dinner?" niche well as there are many options on the menu so it's great for a group. It's big and the parking is plentiful (there's a lot to the right and additional spaces in back). The vibe is very industrial and comfortable. We stumbled upon this little coffee shop completely by accident and I'm so glad we did. It's nice and quaint. They have numerous delicious and tasty sweets along with freshly squeezed juices, teas and lemonades. The layout is very nice and love the atmosphere of the entire venue. It also has some historical value inside the bathroom which was pretty cool to know. The outdoor deck overlooks downtown and well lit. I wasn't able to try the food off the menu, but everyone was eating and the menu sounded delicious. I will be returning for a dine in soon! read more
