I remember first time I saw Tower bridge last year and I couldn't believe it! I had got one of the boats from Greenwich and as soon as I saw the bridge I was awe-struck! As we headed underneath it, I sat there with my mouth open, it was like something out of a fairytale! I have since walked across it many times but have yet to see it pull up from the middle to let taller boats through, but I think you can go on the net to find out when those times are. Apparently it used to moved 20-30 times a day, but nowadays only 2-3 times a day. read more

Tower Bridge is both iconic and stunning. Wonderful for locals and tourists, it's a beautiful piece of architecture on London's landscape. It's very easy to get to from either London Bridge tube/rail station or Tower Hill/Tower Gateway tube. Connected to the Tower of London, it makes fantastic photographs a fun way to walk across the river. If you want to pay, you can go through the Tower Bridge Experience, which I think lets you walk around the top for a panaramic view of London. Personally, I like the free option of meandering across the bridge at a stroll and taking lots of pictures. read more

The bridge is beautiful, so much so it is oftenly mistaked to be 'London Bridge' by tourist as it is so different to all the others! It is well worth it walking across Tower Bridge which is one of the best! As can be seen even amongst the reviews many tourists (and even locals!) get confused and call this 'London Bridge' It is in a totally different class to the real London Bridge which is a grey bland thing upriver. Built (or should I say completed) in 1894, this bridge is now an icon for London in the same way the Eiffel tower is for Paris. This bridge is the only bridge in London that will lift, its also the only interesting bridge accross the Thames! The bridge consists of 2 towers and a road and a walkway accross the top. It is quite a good looking bridge though. From the walkway you can see a fair bit of central London but if you want views you would be better off visiting the London Eye. The nearest tube station is Tower Hill about 5 minutes away. Buses and taxi's also run accross the bridge. Good for a quick visit, but you cant spend long there without getting bored! read more

Seeing how the bridge works is amazing seeing all the old and new workings alongside each other, we were lucky enough to have a very knowledgeable guide who really made it a great day for us. The walkway bridge across the top is a little scary but with stunning views of the river, well worth a visit for that alone, lots of hands on things to press and very educational. Great trip out, parking for blue badge is a nightmare so you'll have to drive around a bit to find somewhere. read more

A beautiful bridge to see by day & a spectacular bridge to see at night. ALL tourists should see this bridge - It is after all right next to the Tower of London which should rightfully be the number one Tourist attraction. I didn't fancy the walk accross the top of it so settled for just walking the bridge - which gives you great views of London & the Tower. A great way to see it is to take one of the river cruises. If you see it open, as I've only seen once, you'll be in for a treat. read more

A beautiful suspension bridge in the heart of London. Fantastic to photograph especially at night when it's lit up. When the bridge lifts up, it's particularly interesting to watch - although this doesn't happen all the time. Has pedestrian walkways on either side (as it used by heavy traffic) which offer fantastic views over the river Thames plus the city, & you can also pay for an exhibition / tour of the bridge when there if you'd like more info when visiting. I personally just like to take in the river scene from the bridge or to photograph it at night :) read more

One of the most beautiful bridges I have seen. I absolutely adore it. I cannot express how much I appreciate being able to live in a city with the architecture and the monuments that we have means to me. If you ever get the chance, get one of the Barclays bikes that are 2 pound for 24 hours, or your own bike if you are rich enough to have one! And cycle across it, it's really cool when you look up and see the design of it over the top of you, also the adrenaline of driving right next to traffic is a bonus, if your into that. Would recommend visiting London to see this bridge to everyone. London is a beautiful city, full of beautiful things. read more

When I'm at the Tower Bridge, I'm just a new person for some reason. Just being there and viewing how many people visit the tour site everyday is amazing. Just a beautiful piece of art. So happy to be is such a great city. This classical structure of London has stood as an engineering marvel for over 120 years. Despite its over crowding due to the WWI memorial art installation near by, its still worth the visit. Especially if you are lucky or unlucky enough to witness its temporary blockade due to the passing vessels on the thames. read more

I didn't do the tour, but walking the bridge at night is beautiful. A must see while in London.

The tickets are probably not worth the cost. Walk the bridge first before deciding whether to go up 110 feet for a patch of glass floor (fun when boats pass underneath). I didn't see the engine room because I went to the north side of the bridge after the upper-level visit and was too tired to backtrack (there are many fewer trains south of the river). read more

Out of all the iconic attractions in London, I would definitely say The Tower Bridge is my favorite. It is such a grand masterpiece, and I just love how the backdrop of the sky changes the way the Tower Bridge looks. In the afternoon, it is grand and powerful. During sunset, it looks like a palace rising out of the River Thames. At night, it looks dark and ominous. I know photographers love to play with the contrast and lighting for this scene because it can tell so many stories. Definitely check it out! read more

I really enjoyed walking through and across the bridge learning about how many times it's been rebuilt after being either pulled down or burnt down. It's also amazing to see the pictures of the progress of the bridge over time and it's comparison to other bridges around the world. Be sure to go across the top and take a picture with the see through glass bottom! read more

I love this bridge, it's a must-see of London. it's easy to get to, there's an Underground stop nearby and then from there is a short walk. The mister and I walked across the bridge. On the return trip back, we noticed that there was a museum at the top. For a small fee, we took the elevator up and got a nice aerial view of the Tower of London and the Thames river. This bridge is even more manificent when you see it open up to let a ship pass. Pretty cool! read more

A great landmark to be in pictures and to take pictures of. There are also boats that go underneath it, on the River Thames, and that's where the money shot is...taking a pic of the suspension bridge as it's raising to let ferry boats travel underneath. Gorgeous bridge with such history! Be sure to go to the side across from Tower of London and down the stairs to check out the gift shop. It was my favorite gift shop in all of London! Super cute and modern stationery, baby clothes, jams, teas, candles and so much more. Seriously a really cool shop. I tried to check in there, but nothing was recognized. I think it was a transportation museum or something of that sort? read more

The bridge is beautiful, took my breath away when I saw it. One of those times when I was in disbelief that I (never been anywhere but Mexico when I was 15) was actually on the other side of the world and seeing what I had only glimpsed on tv. We saw it at all hours of the day since we hung out by the Thames most of one day. It is beautiful in the light, dark, and all times in between. Only thing is that the actual tour of it is short and overpriced. I'm glad I did it for the experience I guess, but there's not much to see inside but a video and a walk across the towers with some display cases of info. I think it cost like 10 pounds, which was twice as much in dollars when I went last year. I am a person that loves the historical side of things, and it didn't do much for me, minus one star for that. read more

Yes, it's a cool bridge and much better looking than it's neighbor. But for me, the best part of Tower Bridge is the little neighborhood on the south side of the river. It's relatively undiscovered by tourists and that was enough to make me like it. read more

This bridge is definitely the representation of London as a bridge. It is not only majestic but beautiful piece of art when you visit in person. You can come to visit this place as a student and buy a combo ticket of 6.20 pounds that includes also a tour to The Monument, another amazing place to go in London. I highly recommend buying the combo ticket and go to both places in one day. The area around the bridge can be quite windy, so I would recommend bringing a jacket. In addition, this place also has some of the nicest souvenirs in London, so I would get souvenirs here. read more
