A must see bridge while in London! You can actually go up inside of it, but it does cost. You can cross it for free though. And there's many different ways to get to it. We took the Uber Boat ferry which took less than 20 minutes from Embankment Pier. It was a great way to make it down the river.

One of the iconic monument in London is the tower bridge. Definitely truly beautiful and I was happy to be able to get to view this beauty from the upper levels. Buy a ticket at ticket booth as I bought mine from a third party site and paid more. But it's fine, as I enjoyed my visit. Prior to my visit, I was actually downstairs and was able to watch the bridge drawn up and down. And I am so lucky to be there to witness it. Being able to tour the tower bridge, both the west and east wing has a glass bottom floor. Where you can see traffic past by and the bay on the other sides of the bridge. The ticket allows you access to the engine room as well. Which is across the way. There are also short video clips to watch and information everywhere of the history

Loved coming to the Tower Bridge! We actually spent the day at Tower of London and then headed over to the Tower Bridge to cross the water and go grab some spuds! It's definitely a nice walk across on a day with good weather and worth it for the sightseeing if you're around.

I know many people think "London Bridge" is a must-see bridge in London, but it's really a yes and no. To be more specific, the best way to see the iconic Tower Bridge is actually from London Bridge (yes, keep in mind that the starting point should be London Bridge). You can get there by bus or tube, and I strongly recommend taking a walk along the Thames. It's only about a 15-20 minute walk between the two bridges, but the views are spectacular and absolutely worth the time. Useful travel tips: 1. Again, it's best to start at London Bridge. 2. Once you reach Tower Bridge, you'll see the Tower of London on your left, another must-visit attraction in London. 3. If time allows, visit the Tower of London. Inside the castle, you'll get stunning views of both the fortress and Tower Bridge. They also house an incredible jewelry collection, which is definitely worth seeing.

Tower Bridge is probably what you are actually looking for when you are thinking of London Bridge. Tower Bridge began construction in 1886 and at the time it was built, it was the largest and most sophisticated bascule bridge ever completed. My boyfriend and I were strolling around London coming from the north side of the Thames River. We walked towards the Tower Bridge and crossed the bridge itself. Photos with the bridge are prettier further away, and not on the actual bridge. Then we continued out stroll on the southside of the Thames River. A lovely walk if you have some time for a stroll.

It was a freezing December night, the kind where the wind cuts right through your coat and makes your face sting, but standing on the iconic Tower Bridge was totally worth it. The massive Victorian Gothic towers lit up against the dark London sky is one of those "pinch me, I'm in the U.K." type of photo ops. The bridge is instantly recognizable. The blue suspension beams shimmer under the lights, and even though the icy gusts off the Thames will leave you shivering in winter, the view from up there is absolutely stunning. The Tower Bridge is one of those places that's cool in photos but feels even more magical when you're actually there, taking it all in. Best of all, there's a nearby Tube station and it's free to walk across. Score!

Tower Bridge is often confused with London Bridge. A lot of people think Tower Bridge IS London Bridge. Today's London Bridge is a purely utilitarian bridge with little significant architectural appeal. So, it's natural for some folks to think that the beautiful (and architecturally significant) Tower Bridge is the famous London Bridge. We saw it from a cruise on the River Thames. We saw it up close and personal as we floated under it. Despite it not being the London Bridge, Tower Bridge is a must see attraction.

I can't believe that I actually walked the Tower Bridge! It was only about a 6 minute walk. There is an option to Pay to go inside the bridge( I opted out). There were uber boats passing by while i stood to take a few pictures on the bridge.

I took pics on the southside and the northside of Tower Bridge. Then, we walked across Tower Bridge. Even did a tour through tower bridge and got to see the glass staircase above, and the dungeon below where the coal machines are that used to raise and lower the bridge. Definitely book a tour so you get to see all of the cool stuff. The glass floor atop the bridge is fun to take photos and videos on. We also got on the Uber boat and rode under the bridge on the water. It was really cool to do at night. I paid £65 for 1 adult and 1 concession ticket for the tour. You of course can walk across for free.

Obviously a must see while in London. We were blessed to have decent weather. We walked the bridge on both sides. You could pay a fee and go up in the tower and see the inner mechanisms but we didnt. Our time was limited and my only interest was walking across this famous bridge and enjoying the view of the cityscape. We were actually in the London tower but got bored and left to explore the tower bridge right outside the gate.

An icon of London, wonderful to see at night when it is floodlit. The Tower Bridge website publishes the bridge opening times, a large pleasure boat the Dixie Queen goes through now and then and it's a great sight to see the bridge open. The Tower Bridge Exhibition in the walkway above the bridge was a surprise, fascinating even to small children, well worth the entry fee also includes a visit to the pump rooms. A must visit. read more

A site which is recognised all of the world as in icon of England and London, Tower Bridge is truly a national treasure. The colour scheme is pleasing and at night, when fully lit, the bridge looks particularly stunning. It is also quite amusing to recall how the Americans purchased London Bridge, mistakenly believing they were acquiring Tower Bridge, whilst actually procuring the concrete blockiness of London Bridge! One of the best ways to experience the bridge is to walk across it; if you drive, it is over all too soon. If you cross from the Tower of London side, there is a nice riverside walk once you have crossed the bridge which makes for a nice London mini-excursion. read more

I love visiting this beautiful local landmark and I feel quite privileged that it really is on my doorstep. When I walk over the bridge I get a feeling of freeness and like you are a million miles from anywhere. It is hard to imagine that the bridge was make hundreds of year ago and it is still standing. The first time I saw the bridge lift up to let a ship pass through I was amazing. Imagine the strength in that! Thousand of people walk and drive over it everyday and the road just lifts up with no problems. Amazing structure, beautiful design and heart warming history. read more

just a bridge folks. If you wanna know when it was built, google it. I can tell you, that it's a major tourist attraction here in London, you canhave your picture taken, maybe checkout some girls and unlike other places around the city it won't cost you a penny to do any of that cause it's free unless, of course, you'd like to go up the tower... a good exercise nonetheless and you should see it while here in London. oh bring an umbrella in case iti rains. cheers! read more

I visited London Bridge at night and it was the most spectacular sight seeing it all lite up with thousands of lights. We walked along the river Thames and I can not describe how beautiful it was. I have seen London Bridge many times in my life but if certainly look incredable at night. I will definately go and see it again, maybe in the summer so we can sit and have a picnic by the river...and not get cold!! read more

i went on this June 2007 and had a great time. The cost wasnt too bad - cheaper than what i thought it would be and also its good to know more about the bridge area as i personally used to work around that area and found it beneficial to know the historical background. The views you get on this tour are on par with the london eye - your not as high up but still a good vista of london. read more

This is definitely worth the £7.00 entry fee. Fantastic views from the walkways along the top, along with the stories of how they used to be plagued with prostitutes and those wishing to leap to their deaths from the top in the early 20th Century (before the current glass ceilings were installed). read more

Tower Bridge is is a short walk / tube ride away from many of the other tourist attractions but more than merits the effort. Even if you do not do the guided visit, walking around and across the feature is an activity in itself. Make sure you wait until night fall to see the bridge lit up in its beauty! read more

Looked lovely in the evening when it was dark and lite up. You could see all the lights and looked lovely, takes you away from the busy parts of London and makes you feel as if you aren't in London. Beautiful site, a must see! read more

I went a few years ago when I was on a graduation trip with my dad. The architecture was awesome, the history is awesome, and the views are even better! At the time I didn't have a data plan so the fact that they had free wifi was pretty pleasant ( https://www.wifimapper.com/hotspots/gb/city-of-london/museum/tower-bridge-exhibition/ ). Definitely great to go there with family or kids, but it can be pretty dang crowded. read more

Its just south from the London Bridge Tube station and its next to Bermondsey. Its not a particularly wealthy area and I have a feeling crime might be a bit high, when I asked someone for help with directions next to a bank they said ''im sorry its hard for me to think ive just been robbed'' I went without an umbrella and got really wet. The directions around the place arent very good it took me along time to find the business i wanted to (Trade Partner Europe) which was a dump and i must say i cant see myself going back there. read more

The bridge from outside is very good looking and wonderful. But I would say, it is not 100% needed to enter Tower Bridge. When you enter the Tower Bridge, you will take an elevator to the top of the Tower Bridge. Then you will watch a film about the history but it keeps showing, so you may be in the middle of the documentary and need to wait for another round. After that you will walk pass the bridge where you can see the whole River Thames. But I would say there is nothing specials except you can watch the view of River Thames read more

Hubby and I are so glad that the Tower Bridge was a part of the London Pass and we did not have to pay £9 each because it was a disappointment. We were able to walk on the top walkway and see through the glass floor down to the Thames, but the engine room tour was lackluster. Unless you have the London Pass, save the £9 per adult entry fee and enjoy the Tower Bridge from afar. Definitely not worth walking through it. read more

tower bridge covered in tourists takeing pictuers,quite a few seem to think the bridge is the old london bridge but it is not that one. itis now in america some where . i love tower bridge because it is one of the worlds most original bridges with its stone covering & swing up road. i work nearby in the bridge house pub,so i oftern get a chance to sea the bridge up with all the cars & people waiting to cross.the bridge opens about 90 times a month,i have seen suicides stoped by passers by, the odd weddings & most impressive of all the young Rushians on the big sail boat all standing on the rigging & singing at the tops of there voices spring high tied and all the rats come running up the road,quite amazeing to see or a realy foggy day and the bottom of the bridge disapears and she rise out of the mist quite magicly i hope you come to sea the bridge one day & get to sea the bridge like i do with somethig going on like the giant cruse ship goning under thr bridge at low tied or a hen party driveing over the bridge in a pink cadalac standing up through the open top window exposeing them selves to passers by, the bridge really is a magnet for all and sundry read more

The Tower Bridge is mistakenly called London Bridge. While it's not officially the bridge which is based off of the famous song, it's still a wondrous bridge to look at and walk across. It's definitely my favorite bridge in London. read more

We didn't go to The Tower Bridge exhibit but instead walked along the streets of London and the Jubilee Walkway which led to it. That experience alone was worth it (we were lucky enough to encounter a Polish Festival -I am Polish-American- in the exhibition park on the south side where we bought bread and Paczki) as we got a real feel for the inner area of London. We passed through Borough Market, though we did not stop as it was still not open, and passed the now, non-descript, London Bridge. Upon reaching the bridge we were awed by the beautiful architecture as it is truly unique among bridges. As we made our way to the Tower of London, walking across you could feel the history that passed over this historic bridge, even though it is now a dirty, incredibly busy, thoroughfare. It is well worth the stop to get wonderful photo ops of history. read more

as for bridges goes im going to use yelps quote and say "woohoo! as good as it gets..." it is the prettiest bridge that i've come across in my life time... it may not be long and large, but in this case size don't matter bitches!!! :P to really appreciate this architectural marvel it is best seen at night when the lights shine on the structure as it draws your attention to its engaging design.. oh and like most newbies to london i first thought that the name of this bridge was london bridge... :) read more

The most famous of the London Bridges. We walked across after a visit to the Tower of London. The exhibition is included in the London Pass, but we didn't partake. Be prepared for some serious wind up on the bridge though! Great views of the city! read more

We went over to Tower Bridge right after we had seen the Tower of London, and it was ok. The times on the board said that last admission was at 5pm; we showed up at 4:30 and were rushed through everything. Honestly, right from the point when we paid there was someone constantly behind us saying "move along hurry up" and it was getting on my nerves. We came up on the side that faces downtown, the less scenic side, and when I had walked through there I wanted to see the other side. So when I made it to the other Tower (where you could cross over to the other side) there was this woman standing there telling me to watch some film. I said I wanted to see the other side first and she said "no watch this video, you're running out of time. I just walked past her and went to the other side. I got to take my pictures but had no chance to read any of the info on the side because there was a guy who kept telling you to move along. I don't understand why we were rushed through when the last admission is still half an hour away. I wasn't impressed with the people. The tour is alright but if you don't make it there, don't be too upset, the view is just as nice from the bridge itself. Also, you can get a 2 for 1 deal for this location so keep an eye out for the 2 for 1 pamphlets! I wouldn't do this again if I go back to London. read more

This iconic bridge is a must visit for any London tourist. It provides great photographic opportunitys and if you get to see the bridge rise then it a very impressive sight. It is a very affordable attraction to go up to the top of tower to see amazing views of London. It is located in the vinicity of many other London city attrcations, such as the London Bridge experience, HMS Belfast, London Dungeons. It is definitely worth a visit as it is beautifully decorated and a great London monument. read more

My parents took us on several trips to this lovely bridge in the 60's and 70's. As a child, school took us there and the Tower of London on excursions. I have taken my children and grandchildren and each time is different. It is a national heritage that always captivates the heart. I would love to visit it more often. read more

Though Sky Garden is free, you still need to book a timed reservation in advance...as in, right when they release the dates 3 weeks in advance. They will run out pretty quickly even if you wait a few days, especially if you're going during busy season. I saw that the reservation is good for one hour, but honestly, they didn't check when I went so they might not be strict on that depending on the crowd level. I went in about 20 minutes early because I wasn't doing anything. You'll check in and go through security. Then you'll get in an elevator to the top. My reservation was at 10:00am, so I got through the initial line and security quickly, but I imagine it would be a long wait later in the day. The view out is great, and there's a balcony so you can take pictures outside. I think the interior architecture was the highlight though along with the greenery. There's so much natural light that gets in the room. It would have been amazing to go during sunset, but that didn't fit in with my plans. Luckily, the view in the morning was good, and the sunny weather was on my side. They have a cafe and a restaurant there. Though overpriced, I still got a flat white to sip on while I took in the views. Overall, I spent about an hour at a slow pace. You definitely don't need that much time, so if you have the chance to visit, it's definitely worth it. Only issue was the line to go back down took longer than expected since people don't maximize elevator space.

They gave us a really nice birthday discount which was unexpected and appreciated. The service the whole time was fantastic and the views were honestly incredible. After that we went down to the 26th floor and stayed there for a while because the vibe was just really good. Live music, more amazing views, people hanging out and enjoying themselves... it felt very "London night out" in the best way. Touristy? Sure. Worth it? Absolutely. Definitely something I'd recommend making time for if you're visiting London.

We managed to pop out for lunch and sat under the building enjoying the fantastic view.

There was a guided tour starting right when we entered, but we did the audio tour on our own. I had also prepaid for a kids's book that we picked up at the gift shop. I wouldn't get it again if I had a redo. We also picked up our audio guides, which were included in the price of admission. This was great as it had a kids program and the guided map let us pick and choose what path we wanted to take. We chose to hit the highlights, which takes 90 minutes and we ended up being there for 2 hours. The line for the crown jewels wan't too bad and was the highlight of the visit. They also had live shows in the common area that the kids loved.

I recommend heading to the Tower of London right when they open because it gets busy, even on weekdays. I was not prepared for the amount of crowds I would encounter. At 9AM, we went straight to the Crown Jewels. No photos are allowed inside. After 10:30AM, there is already a line to enter. We went straight to the first Beefeaters Tour at 10AM. The tour is normally for a group of 50 people, but there was no one taking a headcount when we arrived and our group went over 50 people. The tour was informative and hilarious. I would recommend the Tower of London for the Beefeaters Tour alone.

The Cathedral was designed by the great Christopher Wren and is gorgeous inside with massive arched ceilings and ornate marble archways and statues. The choir seats are a dark aged wood with beautiful carving. Photography was not allowed inside so my only photos are of the outside. Tours during no the week are available and going up into the dome is supposed to be an extraordinary experience where whispers can be heard far away. Because the building does not open until 10am, the front doors are closed and guests are expected to queue up. Surprisingly, there are no signs to tell you where to queue up, so people are waiting in front of the doors until they open. Upon entering, my bag is inspected and you can pick up an audio tour device which has not only information about the cathedral, but has reflection and prayer passages where you can take a seat (there are plenty) and just be. At intervals, the pastor will ask everyone in the building to be silent as he prays for our world. After the prayer and blessing, the pastor makes himself available to anyone. Taking time to pray to God for us and our world was special. While the audio tour was good, talking to the red-sashed volunteers was special in that they had information that was not in the audio tour. For example, the wood carvers would leave a signature on the carving that would be unique like a hidden rocket ship with stars behind some carved vines. If you're a Harry Potter fan like me, you can ask a red-sashed volunteer to show you the Dean's Staircase, a stairway leading to Professor Trelawny's divination class that was used in the film. Unfortunately, you can't walk up the staircase, but you can take some amazing photos. Walking to the Stone Gallery and Golden Gallery requires climbing up 31 flights of stairs, so train well before you arrive. Not only does the Stone Gallery give you a closer look at the paintings on the Dome, but the wall offers a neat little trick, but it takes two people. If you speak into the wall, another person standing on the opposite side (180°) will be able to hear you. On a non-foggy day (good luck with that), you can walk around outside and be able to have stunning views of the city. There's so much to say, but I would rather you experience it for yourself.

All in all this classic looking artist is not trying to paint a beauty on a canvas, but a rebel sign on a public wall, while his leg is locked with this ball with the money sign. So when I associate all this with the fact that all Hackney walls are now purified from graffiti, I'm just left with the impression that art was finally killed, both indoor and in the streets. Four days later, it destroyed most of medieval London, including the old St Paul's Cathedral. The destruction was incredible. Over 80% of the City of London burned, St Paul's Cathedral and innumerable businesses and houses were all gone. There were a few silver linings, however. First of all, the rather serious plague outbreak of 1665 was halted. The Great Fire of London began on the night of 1 September 1666, in a bakery on Pudding Lane. Thomas Faryner, one of the king's bakers, awoke to thick black smoke in the middle of the night. He and his family were able to escape by climbing out of an attic roof and jumping to the neighbors' house; their little maidservant was too frightened to follow and became the fire's first victim. Today it is hard to imagine what London would look like without the Great Fire. In one fell swoop, the medieval city vanished. Streets became wider, and buildings less tightly packed (to help prevent another conflagration). A permanent reminder of the fire was erected soon after the fire was put out called The Monument. It stands today at the site of the first church to be destroyed by the fire and now at the junction of Fish Hill Street and Monument Street. Designed by Christopher Wren, its height of 61 meters marks the exact distance from the start of the fire.

There is a café on the ground floor, with a good range of decent food, at reasonable prices. I would recommend stopping in as part of a trip to the area - London Dungeons, the Tower, HMS Belfast are all very close - rather then as an end in itself. Every member of the public has to go through a metal detector to get into the building. There is never a long wait.

Tower Bridge, London England, April 6 Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 visited Tower Bridge right after wrapping up the Tower of London since it was an easy and logical next stop. We were looking for something iconic but still engaging for the kids and the overall experience felt more interactive and interesting than we expected. Arrival and First Impressions Getting in was smooth with our reserved tickets and the structure itself does a great job of building anticipation as you move through it with that classic London look. Up close the scale really stands out and it already feels like more than just a quick photo stop even with steady crowds moving through The Highlights The glass floor walkway was the moment for the kids - equal parts exciting and terrifying - depending on who you ask. The views over the Thames were excellent and gave a great perspective of the city. One thing that surprised us most was how much depth there was once inside learning about the engineering and mechanics behind the bridge and walking through the engine rooms. This added a layer we were not expecting and made it feel more like a full experience rather than just a viewpoint there are also plenty of restroom facilities throughout which made it easy for a family stop without having to plan around it. The Challenges It does get busy especially around peak times and that can slow the pace a bit particularly in the narrower walkways and popular photo spots and there are quite a few stairs as you move through the experience which is worth noting if mobility or pacing is a concern. Final Thoughts Tower Bridge ended up being one of those stops that looks simple on the outside but delivers more once you are in it and while we probably would not rush back immediately we would absolutely recommend it especially for families with kids who like a mix of views and hands on learning. The structure feels split between street level and the upper walkways, and I moved between both as part of my visit. The glass floor panels in the high level walkways created a direct view down to the river and traffic below, which changed the pace of how I experienced the space. I found myself pausing longer than expected just to watch the water and the cars underneath. The internal route through the bridge felt organized and continuous, moving through the towers, exhibition areas, and walkways in a clear flow. I experienced a steady mix of people pausing for views, taking photos, and moving along the designated path, which kept the space active but structured. I recently went to London for the first time and this was one of the things I did. This was by far the most affordable thing we did during our entire day in London. The price was nice and cheap and what you got for your money was a green-screeened photograph of yourself in front of the bridge, and a trip in a lift up to the bridge. As you go across the bridge, you're treated to a history of the bridge building, and amazing views fo the Thames. Once on the other side of the bridge you get to see the workings of the bridge and then get ushered into the gift shop which was amazing cheap for london and was where we ended up buying our only souveneirs as they were so reasonable. All in all a good hour or so, with some great views and some nice history. read more

This place is one of the most iconic symbols of London. And I think it is one of the most beautiful places in the entire world. Why is so? Well, in spite of being a place with such a tragic history it is still very romantic. It is by far the largest bridge across the Thames and the most impressive one. Tower Bridge never gets old and it is beautiful during the foggy months and in the middle of the summer. There is a museum in one of the towers and the entrance fee is not expensive at all. This is a must see attraction for any tourist in London. You should go on a boat ride this will take you very close to the bridge, if you lucky you may see the bridge come up. The views from the bridge are pretty cool something that not everyone will experience. Another tip is to see the bridge at night, it really looks amazing. read more
