So, I would like to preface this review with the fact that my standards have been elevated because of my previous care being outstanding. Dr. Vutech is also a truly exceptional dentist, every bit as good and possibly better than my previous dentist. The entire operation here is remarkably efficient and professional. I do not wait--at all. When the appointment time is set, the staff is ready at that time for me. This is unheard of in the business. My first appointment was a teeth cleaning that I needed badly as my teeth had not been cleaned in a couple of years and I knew something needed to be done soon. I called other offices and they wanted to book me months out. When I called Dr. Vutech a person answered the phone right away to my surprise. All the other offices I called had that recording where you wait until you hear the menu prompt that applies to your needs, which I do not like. Dr. Vutech's office got me in three weeks later, not three months. My hygienist took me in a few minutes early and was gentle yet absolutely thorough. My teeth had extra stains on them from coffee and tea and these were mostly all removed because of the extra time we had since I was taken in early. My x rays showed that my previous dental work was top notch and that my teeth were in good shape, but that some work needed to be done where there was wear between the tooth and the gum. Apparently Dr. Vutech could fill that wear space as a preventative measure to help my teeth to last. At sixty years old I want to keep my original teeth as long as possible, this saves money over time and prevents other issues from cropping up. Today I had the first of four appointments for preventive fillings (on the lower right) and they look great. Dr. Vutech matched the natural tooth color perfectly and it is nearly impossible to tell any work had been done, the teeth just look back to normal as if there was never any wear. My assistant was meticulous and diligent and most friendly and courteous. Dr. Vutech uses special magnifying lenses that he states emphatically improve his ability to see what "cannot be seen without them" thus amplifying his capabilities when he is in your mouth doing important work. I now know for a fact that I am in the hands of a truly amazing dentist. My procedure today was painless (novocaine) and efficient. I was in and out in about 40 minutes. Dr. Vutech and his entire staff are personable and friendly, they each spend time with you and go out of their way to make you realize that you are well taken care of. I could not ask for a better group of professionals. Thanks to Marilyn, Julie, Dawn and Dr. Vutech for the fantastic care and skill level that is superlative.

I have a few cracked teeth that need caps and I had my first one yesterday. Dr. Rogol has an in-office set up such that he and his staff can actually make the new tooth onsite. This means I was able to be in and out in 2 hours with a brand new perfectly shaped and fitted tooth. Only one visit, one round of Novocaine, and no temporary cap while the permanent has to be sent out to be made somewhere else. The technology to do this is incredible! The other amazing part is that Dr. Rogol has called me or responded to my calls personally which has absolutely NEVER happened with any doc or dentist in my 57 years. I could go on, but I'm just so happy to be in the care of a healthcare professional that really "cares" about my "health"! Dr. Javid is very gentle. When I first went to him back in the late 90s I had just lost my dental insurance and he worked with me. I since took my daughters and moved to Florida five years ago and still fly up for cleanings alone. I could write 15 paragraphs on my issues he fixed and very affordable for someone that was self employed, self insured. I've had bridges, Root canals and filings over the years from Dr. Javid and his staff is always great. My teeth look and feel great.

Aquidneck Dental still gets a 5 star rating from me BUT Dr Ruel gets a 0 rating!…read more Disappointing Denture Relining Experience with Dr. Ruel I had a highly unsatisfactory experience with Dr. Ruel at Aquidneck Dental in Portsmouth for a hard relining of my dentures, which cost $1,600. My upper denture was initially comfortable, with only a minor thin spot prompting the relining, but my lower denture was problematic, requiring denture adhesive before meals and still becoming loose during eating. Dr. Ruel, nearing retirement and working only one day a week, scheduled my impressions for the following week, promising a next-day turnaround. However, when I called to confirm post-relining care for potential sore spots, the office assured me Dr. Ruel would be available. Upon dropping off my dentures, he then informed me they would take a week, contradicting his earlier promise. After I reminded him of his initial claim, he made a brief call to the lab and stated they could deliver the next day. I suspect he was reluctant to come in on his day off, leaving me without dentures for longer than expected. When I received my dentures, the upper plate was uncomfortably tight, and the lower plate felt unchanged, as if no work had been done. After pointing this out, Dr. Ruel reduced the charge to $800 and offered an immediate soft relining. Unfortunately, the soft relining was poorly executed: the lower plate had untrimmed excess material and there are sharp edges on the outer teeth, while the upper plate's roof lining felt like sandpaper, causing significant soreness in the roof of my mouth. I had to return multiple times, waiting a week between appointments, to address persistent sore spots and problems. The teeth still feel unpolished and rough. Now, my upper denture requires adhesive to stay in place--unlike before--and moves when chewing tougher foods like steak. The lower denture is so loose that I need to re-apply adhesive multiple times during a single meal. Overall, my dentures are in worse condition than before, and I'm don't think they can be fixed. I strongly advise against seeing Dr. Ruel, who has since relocated to Tiverton. This review pertains solely to Dr. Ruel's service, not the other excellent dentists at Aquidneck Dental in Portsmouth.

I've had to transition from a lifelong dentist my family loved and they have made it a smooth one. JP is excellent-highly skilled, easy to talk to. I had to have a cavity taken out and replaced and I couldn't even feel the needle in my gums when he used it! It's nice that he explains things too to further put you at ease, just like the rest of the staff do in teaching you how to care for your teeth and when to call if you're worried. The rest of the staff are always nice and polite, the fish tank is soothing, it's always clean in reception and treatment areas. The appointments are always thorough and on time. They have prompt communication if anything changes or just to remind me of an upcoming appointment. They have been ever so accommodating with my changes of insurance in the past few years.
