I subscribe to the Nashoba Valley Voice. This is the fourth week in a row I have not received the…read morepaper. Calls to customer service results in nothing. The agreement I have with them as a subscriber is that I pay them and they deliver the paper. I pay them on time, they keep my money, and don't deliver the paper. I have been asking for a prorated refund, as I paid for a whole year, but have not received one. I have called the circulation manager and left voicemail, but have not received a call back.

People don't even realize the Lowell Sun is not even located in the city anymore. It's printed at…read morethe Herald and they only have a small office in Westford. This paper is simply a rag newspaper. All the good employees have been replaced by people in other states and towns. and the circulation has dropped to virtually nothing. When the Costello family owned the paper it was a local family run newspaper. When media Newsgroup bought out the paper they ran it into the ground. And could care less about their employees. And replaced them one by one! Sad!

There is a small art studio in the back, some lovely, tasty treats near the register (small batch, local source!) and friendly, helpful staff who are right there where you want them to be but not up in your business. They GET Lowell (all the local flavor is there if you want it) but you won't feel like you've visited just another place in Lowell--this shop makes me want to go back again and again.

After roaming around the store, I finally found the book (upstairs) and the restrooms (downstairs) - did I miss the store directory somewhere??? - and headed to the line. It was just before noon on a weekday and only one person was working at the register. I was 6th in line and 3 of the people ahead of me had complicated transactions involving B&N membership, what tote bag to pick out, etc...... FINALLY another employee came to the register (no one called for her, she just happened to be walking by) as I was the next in line, my exchange involved no paperwork and took about 15 seconds. During peak times, a second employee really needs to stay close and help out!!!
