However, I took my car in to have a flat repaired and when I left, my skid plate was dragging. I knew it was cracked, but hadn't been dragging until after I left there. I had seen them pushing up on it, but I trusted them and had figured they were just trying to fix it or something. Fast forward a few months, I have another flat tire with a fast leak. I took it to Walmart for a patch, Walmart told me that the nail was in the sidewall and by policy they can't put it back on- that's fine, so I asked to have my spare put on. I got my spare out for them and they said "m'aam, more bad news. Whoever touched your spare last, cut it off and they owe you a new spare." SIGS TIRE was the last place to touch my spare. Walmart ended up having to put the flat tire back on, and I had to head to Mavis in Hickory because they were the only place that had my tire in stock. They were so kind and courteous, even though they were about to close, they still assisted me quickly. I cannot BELIEVE Sig's cut my tire off without even asking me, and broke my skid plate completely! I will NEVER trust them again, and I will definitely be filing a complaint with BBB!

I had a slice in the tread of my tire and they booted it in 15 minutes and it cost 16bucks!!! And…read morethey put My tire back on and put my spare back up under the truck for me!!!! Much appreciated!

This was my second time going to this business- the first time they were going to charge me ~$200…read morefor a workup saying it could be all these issues wrong with the car. Thankfully, I went somewhere else who diagnosed it as a knot in the tire and only charged me $40 for a comparable tire- no charge for "work up". This second time I went here, I was running out of daylight with work and everything and accidentally went back to this place (I couldn't remember the other place I had been to that was good, and ended up putting the wrong thing in the GPS, but figured how bad can it be). Momentum calls themselves a family run business but do not let that fool you. I got two second opinions about my car- and some of the things Momentum recommended I did not need done. Not only this, they wanted to charge me over $2,300 for the issues. The two other places I called and asked said it should be under 1K and to go see them. Thankfully, I was able to go back into Momentum and asked them to stop the repairs. At that point they had already done three tire replacements (which I did know I needed so this was fine), and I asked them to finish with the fourth but not to do all the other things they were going to do. I ended up paying $520 for new tires, which I didn't think was that bad. However, I did not appreciate the fact that these tires retail for $70 at Walmart, and Momentum charged me $88 per tire, and only after the fact did they tell me it was also a $30 fee per tire. Plus tax on top of this. This morning, I went to one of the said local shops I spoke with, and they told me the tires were a low quality brand (opposite of what momentum told me), and also said they could have done comparable tires for $365 total. I also got what actually needed done for much less of a price. Needless to say, do not go to Momentum Tire. They are crooks and should be ashamed of themselves. I am not sure if they see a girl and take advantage, but there were older people there too and I can't imagine how much money they are unnecessarily poaching from people. I also found out they have gotten in trouble for price gouging in the past and have that reputation. Thankful I spoke up and saved myself minimum 1K even though I lost some on the tires, but wow, awful experience. Don't let friendliness fool you.

I have had some work done at Momentum in Morganton a couple of times within the last 9 months: oil…read morechange, oil pressure sensor replaced, serpentine belt replaced, NC state inspection. They were very professional, and the work was done to my satisfaction. What made Momentum stand out and earn a great review instead of a good review for me was for following events that took place yesterday. I noticed a severe oil leak just after taking my almost 16-year-old dog to the vet to be euthanized. A sad day to start and then more stress heaped on with my first oil leak on a car I have had for 7 years - coincidentally just after trying out a new garage that had over charged me and tried to sell me several services that I knew I didn't need. After noticing the oil leak, I immediately took my vehicle back to the garage (new place in town - they still have balloons out front) I had decided to try out with an oil change one week earlier. As I write this review, I have now had 2 bad experiences at the "new garage" and left very unsatisfied both times: both when I picked up my car after the oil change and when I took it back after noticing the oil leak. I then decided to take my vehicle back to Momentum which was the last garage I had work done before the unsatisfactory oil change. I didn't have an appointment yesterday, but they fit me in since the oil leak was severe, and I was a returning customer. Not only did they fit me in, but they also found 2 different potential leak spots. They warrantied one which could have been a result of the oil pressure sensor they had replaced months ago, and they did some deep dive analysis on other potential leak spots, tightening up what seemed to need it. They went the extra mile and restored my faith in a garage. I had two negative experiences at the new garage I had tried out and a bad day in general. Now I know the first place I will take my vehicle from now on. No more trying out "the new place in town". My go-to garage from now on is Momentum. Thanks for restoring my faith in a local business and making a bad day a little better.

At 2:25pm I asked the gentleman at the front desk for an ETA and he said "Uh 10-15 minutes, I had to remind my guy politely that he had an alignment to do". So I walk back to my seat. A couple minutes go by and an employee walks to the desk and he reminds him again that there is another alignment to do. A couple minutes after that, three employees are standing with the door open from the lobby to the bay area talking about how there are more than 4 alignments to do. I walk up to the desk and one of them popped his head in and before I could say anything he says "He's about to take it off the lift now so he is almost done". I do not mind waiting, if it's the appropriate amount of time to wait for what I came in for. I fully expected to be here until 2pm considering there was only 1 or 2 cars already in the bay. However, I don't think that it is appropriate to tell the customer that one of the employees basically just forgot that there was an alignment when there were 4 other customers in the shop waiting for alignments as well. The staff was nice, I just don't think I will be returning to this location to get my car serviced.

Mavis Tire en Hickory, Carolina del Norte, 5 de agosto de 2025…read moreI just took my Corolla wheel in to get the flat tire repaired. The lady who placed the work order and did the repair had a hard time doing it. I watched her through the glass and seemed upset at not being able to do it. I watched as she threw the metal bar over my wheel. When the installation was finished, I inspected the wheel and as expected, it was scratched. I asked the manager and she said it wasn't scratched. I showed him the damage and she denied doing it. I told him I saw him do it and she flatly denied it. she said he would make a report and asked me to take a picture of the damage, which I said yes (big mistake on my part). I don't think she made any report, she said they would call me from the Charlotte store, but I was able to see the invoice she printed and saw how she wrote that the rim was scratched and that she had photos, this outraged me greatly, but what could I do was me against her, I didn't know how to defend myself, it's the first time something like this has happened to me. The others who saw what happened simply kept quiet and didn't say anything, she told me to go and that they would call you, she wouldn't charge me anything, I know they won't call me and the only thing I can do is this review, I went there in the past and had good reviews about them, but this has changed now. It's obvious that she took the photo to save her reputation, just pay close attention to this place, from what I see they are not responsible for the damage they cause, I do not recommend them, my wheels are 18 "from a 2020 Corolla, they are expensive rims. By the way, she didn't even write the information correctly on the work order, indicating that they were 17". Simply incompetent person.
