I am disabled from an accident, and needed a deep clean. I also explained that am also extraordinarily allergic and sensitive to some sense and chemicals and require hypoallergenic products to be used in my home, and that anything that's chemical smelling needed to be avoided. He assured me that that would be the case, although it didn't turn out that way. I got the name from a Facebook group from the neighborhood, thinking I could trust that. Realizing now that it's a lot of nepotism that goes on in the group, so be it. I explained my situation to the owners son, he gave me a quote, which was much higher than the last deep clean that I had but I said I wanted to support community business. That was my bad. In addition to it being an expensive quote, he explained to me that in order for it to be done in a short period of time, so that I would not be displaced from my home for an extraordinarily long period of time, he would place three of his workers in My Home for two hours, which would equal six hours of work time in total. ?That's how we calculated the expensive cost. To include the windows, that would be the third person and that would be just to do five really small brownstone windows, which, I told him, when I used to do my own windows it didn't take an hour to do. Anyway , he also explained to me that if I didn't cancel within 48 hours that I would lose my full deposit. I explain to him that as a disabled person that anything could happen to me, and lo and behold, I had a gripping migraine the day of the service. So I had no other choice, but to sit out in the hallway with my migraine medication's and fingers crossed that I wouldn't end up on the floor. I waited patiently for the crew to get here and finish. I was sick as a dog, but I was then told to walk through the apartment before they clocked out; I could barely move at that point, but I walked through, and within the two minutes that I was with them the windows seem shiny because it was a bright day and that was about all I could take in and two minutes, the crew left and clocked out with the owner and said "the owner is going to call you in about five minutes. please pick up the phone so she can get your feedback". Cynthie called me, and it was right about the time that I did my own little walk-through without all the people around me and I started to notice things weren't quite right. I also noticed that the smell that was emanating into my lobby, where I was sitting, having a migraine, was actually coming from apartment, very strong smell, was making me sick to my stomach, etc. worsening my migraine. ( I had to sleep with a mask on that night and threw the next day, horrible! )I got on the phone and I told Cynthia that I was identifying things that were not quite right, and that I had started taking pictures and videos, but to be quite honest, I was not in any shape to have a long discussion with her, we said we would speak the next day. That was my understanding, I agreed if I was feeling well enough. I then spent the next 24 hours sick, but looking at things closely and seeing as you can see from my photos and many many more photos, and videos of things that were not done it was like I was still in a mound of dust and dirt. I will say that they did my floorboards, I'll give them that. But visible furniture pieces with , dust on them were not attended to, it was completely bizarre-dirt/grit on the floor right in front of the refrigerator where one of the workers had sat was still there -I was just flabbergasted. to take photos and videos and email them, Cynthia said we were supposed to talk on Monday, but that was not my recall, I was advised to continue to create a written documentation of our correspondence, and not just leave it to a phone, call, and, in my very first email/with video and pictures I asked for a discount, that was my first request but as the days went on over the weekend, I realize just how messed up this job was I realize that I wanted either a refund or a discounted Refund. after about 30 photos/videos, I heard from the son again via email saying that he could send somebody only within the next seven days since I had "missed my opportunity to have a cleaner come within the guaranteed 24 hours", but if I did not agree, I would lose my ability to get a cleaner, and that I would still be charged the full amount. End of story. I'm like"watt, WHAT? What a bunch of scammers! I've never dealt with a business like this, and so much for wanting t entrust my business to a neighborhood company who is struggling from recovery post Covid. Now I see the ratings on yelp are bad, and I did wonder why in the Facebook group they said they were struggling so much, perhaps it is because they are not so great after all!

I think I had 1 or 2 services that actually happened when they were originally scheduled for. Otherwise there was always an excuse for a same day delay or even moving to another day. Excuses included traffic, car accident, sick, an appointment running late (mind you I was the first apt of the day at 9 am and I received a text at 9 am) or just no reason and needing to move it. Keep in mind I used them once a month for less than a year and I used the same woman. Quite the coincidence that all of those things happened to the same professional the one time I had an appointment a month. They need to get their scheduling and back office in order. They lost a customer because of it.

Found 4 Star which was highly rated on Google reviews. After much amicable email communication, one of their workers came in to assess the space and take notes on what we needed. I quickly received an email from 4 Star who agreed to a VERY low-priced contract. I was very happy with their immediate response time in answering my questions. I called all their references and they all turned out well. I signed the contract and was excited to get started. The (I presume) manager, Chris, dropped by the office to tour the space and take notes. All good. She asked me to send her a checklist so that she could review it with the worker before they came to take the office tour. We were set to start service in two weeks. A week later, I inquired as to when we would be assigned a worker so that I could take them around the office, show them our security procedures and give them a set of keys. Chris replied that they were still working on finding a worker. I follow up a few days to see what the progress was. Chris says that the worker they are going to assign has a day job and will not be able to come in to tour the office. if I want to meet them, i am going to have to meet them late at night when their shift would be scheduled to start. So I'm supposed to hand over full access to an office full of very expensive equipment to someone I've never met? And that person is supposed to clean an office 5 days a week that they've never even toured or know where anything is or what needs to be cleaned? I started to think this was fishy but agreed to stay late at the office to meet the person. Another day goes by and she emails me that the checklist was not what we agreed to and that they were going to have to increase the contract price by almost 50%! The "extra" items were wiping down bathroom hardware, wiping out the toaster oven, and removing any food/drink from desks. I put them in the checklist assuming this was part of standard office cleaning but it is apparently not part of their standard contract. So I said "I can't justify a 50% increase for those three things. Let's leave the price as is and go with your standard contract." A few hours later, I get the following email: "I received a call from the owner of Four Star General Cleaning instructing us not to take on any additional accounts as he has lined up a large account which will take all of our attention for the next few months. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide you with cleaning service. Good luck in your future endeavors." Two days before you are scheduled to start service!?! I released our old cleaning crew. We signed a contract. You give me two days notice? Wow. I guess it's a blessing in disguise but it sure did screw us over. Busy Bee Cleaning agreed to match their price and is way more professional and honest in their dealings! Even their website is much nicer and easier to navigate. Go with Busy Bee!

I appreciate the "in route" texts I get from this service when they are on their way to my house. We have three cats and one large dog, so pet hair is a really big challenge. Laura and her team somehow manage to clean so thoroughly, that when they're finished, it looks and smells like we are a pet-free home. It also doesn't hurt that Laura is a warm, caring, animal-loving human being. I have cleaned for hours and for some reason, it just never looks as clean as the job they do.
