Whether you like to read or are looking for the perfect gift, this shop is an absolute treat in every way. The people who work here are so knowledgeable about books and scan always recommend the perfect novel or nonfiction based on a description of your preferences. It reminds me of the days when there were neighborhood video rental shops before Blockbuster and Netflix. You could walk in and describe what you were in the mood for, and they would find you the perfect film. Towne Center is this for books!! And they gift wrap for free!!! Why go anywhere else!?! There's a center display right inside the front door with staff selections and new books. What they don't have in volume, they make up with a curated selection, and nice little tags with book descriptions. Bob was an older gentleman who worked here until he recently passed. He also sometimes worked in the Livermore store. Like many men, I got a lot of books here based on his recommendations for history. After chatting with me just a couple times, he recognized me when I came in the store, and steered me towards something I could not resist. I'll miss him very much. The staff here have always been…read morefriendly, helpful, they have a comic section with books from the last year or so on the right side of the store which includes titles from Marvel, DC, Image, Dynamite, and a few titles from independents. I have not seen many back issues with the exception of wall comics. They have a pretty large area of clearance $1 comics on the left side of the store which seem to be 2-3 years old books. I like that these $1 boxes are on tables and my back appreciates that they are easy to sort through. They also have an inventory of collected editions which includes trade paperbacks, hardcovers, omnibus, and compendiums. The owner Kerry has tried to help me find some obscure current comic books a couple times which I appreciate. The staff have all been helpful and easy to work with. I believe they do a significant amount of business in trading card/game card these days, but still have a respectable comic offering.

There is plenty of parking, but it is shared with other restaurants and stores around, you may have to park further back and walk depending on the time of day. I recommend making sure you don't leave any valuables out in the car to avoid any break-ins. At the front of the store, you can find the $1-$8 items which are super cute for crafting, kid-friendly, and easy household items for cheap. Their market section is usually well-stocked with a variety of items to choose from. For any seasonal items for holidays, you can find them in the back right side of the store along with any clearance items. Some things to note is there isn't a dedicated maternity section for people to easily locate. There's a plus-sized section, but it would be helpful if there was a section close to the baby or women's section to shop within.

The "Tri City Voice" is a free community newspaper that covers the South Eastbay. It's available at…read morevarious locations, but I usually grab a copy or read it at Peking Garden in San Lorenzo. With offices in Fremont, it has a huge coverage area from San Leandro to Milpitas. It seems to lack frontpage news stories, but has everything else. Content such as city events, obits, police and fire reports, horoscope, school sports, and classified ads. The paper seems to fit the gaps that those other "cookie cutter" newspapers don't cover. The Tri City Voice gets residents interested in their community, and generates involvement. A valuable asset to the Eastbay.

A variety of articles on health, cooking and gardening. This paper even has color photos. Very appreciative of the newspaper staff and the quality product they put out on a weekly basis.
