I first visited here with a friend taking in her two cats (and a toddler--she needed my help!), and like at most vets' offices (I hope), they were great with the cats. But when her cat Tofi, a tortoiseshell calico who has NEVER let me even think of picking her up, finally let me (out of vet office nervousness), we talked about how unusual/miraculous it was--and so they came in and took a picture for me! They printed it right there, and off I went. My cat was sick recently, and I took him in, and once again, everyone was great with my cat patient. And he's now two days well, racing around the house, and the vet called to check on him! And sent him a card! Prices are not unreasonable, so I think they just love animals and good customer service. Also, I took him in for vomiting, but the vet called later and suggested that once he was better, I put him on a baby aspirin regimen for his arthritis. We have been clients of Towne Square Animal Clinic for many years, with 3 dogs, 1 cat, and a rabbit. We have always been treated courteously by the staff and doctors. Most of our pets only needed regular checkups, but our Beau developed a serious illness and Dr. Zekoff was able to quickly determine the disease and designed a treatment plan for him. I explained that I was concerned my Great Dane had blockage or worse, bloat. I was told to leave her there and they would get to her when they can. How in the world do you expect me to leave my fur baby with you people and not even know a single one of your names?? That was poor customer service. I drove across town to Noah's Ark Animal Clinic and they took her in right away and scheduled her for surgery for blockage. So thank you, Town Square for saving me from a big mistake and leaving my baby with your staff. Good riddance. read more

My husband and I have been taking our cats to Towne Square Animal Clinic for 6 years! We were initially referred to Dr. Zeke Zekoff when we were faced with a critical situation in 2010. Our cat had a sarcoma on his rear leg and our previous vet had misdiagnosed his cancer for over a year. Our only chance of saving him, was amputation and we were told by many, that Dr. Zekoff was the best surgeon around. They were right! The care and concern the staff of Towne Square Animal Clinic has for their clients is second to none! We've been to see both Dr. Dwertman and Dr. Zekoff and they both are excellent veterinarians! The front desk staff who checks you in/out, as well as who you speak with over the phone are the most compassionate people of any clinic I have ever been to! Friendly, courteous and efficient! The vet techs are so gentle with our animals when taking them back to have their vitals and any tests that need to be done. Each and every time we have been there, we (and our animals) are treated with respect. Both Dr. Zekoff and Dr. Dwertman spend the time to ask you many questions so they have as much information as they can about your pet. They both take the time and "hand-write" everything down on your pet's file card (which is later logged into their digital file) and never leave a stone un-turned. THOROUGH! You will never feel rushed through an appointment at TSAC. Whether it's for an annual exam, or a crucial situation, your pet is their priority and you have their full, undivided attention! If there have ever been any issues with any of our pets, Dr. Z and Dr D. have printed out info for us to take home to explain any condition, problem or concern if applicable. I've never left there feeling confused or improperly diagnosed. The clinic is also great about sending out reminders for any upcoming appointments you either have scheduled, or need to schedule. With multiple pets, it's sometimes hard to remember who is due for what, when? They have a "pet portal" that you can always check, but getting those friendly reminders is nice to receive. Lastly, their entire staff is wonderful with follow up. If we've ever been there for anything other than a routine exam, (i.e. if our pets have had surgery, procedures, illnesses or have been placed on medication,) we have always received follow up calls from the clinic to check on them. The staff is so caring, and we really do feel like we are a part of the Towne Square Animal Clinic Family! The absolute best vets in Cincinnati. They have taken such great care of our dog. He had a chronic ear infection on and off for two years that our our previous vet never could cure. He could get it under control with antibiotics but it always returned. Within a month of switching to Towne Square, following their unique protocol, the infection was gone and hasn't returned for over 2 years. He's been off all medication for a year and a half. read more

Sorry about the 3*, but had nothing to do with Dr.Zefoff or Staff. JUST DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE ON THURS. WHEN SUB.DR. OWEN IS THERE. Zoe had a big sting. She took her out of the room the whole time. We and anyone could see it was her right front paw. She came back, & didn't even look for stinger, let alone shave her leg, plus charged us $100.00. Gave us a spray and some Tramadol. Zoe yelped in pain for 3 hrs. When we got home, it took 3 of us but we got stinger out & did not even have to shave her leg. DO NOT EVER TAKE MY PET OUT OF THE ROOM, except to weigh and express anal glands. Hubby & I were furious. Called Dr. Z.on Fri. And he was not happy either. He comped us a lot more pain meds and kept saying how sorry he was. He is still the best and he and his staff always get 5*s except Dr. Owen. I do not know if she is still there, but Hope not. Zoe has had a hard time ever since bee sting. PRETTY MUCH THINK SHE IS ALLERGIC. We have to take her out in back yard now. Hubby went & got stuff to kill clover where bees were. Never had a problem with clover before. It has been awful in Cindy this summer for some reason. She has been on baby aspirin, so that is Why they couldn't give her Pred. Not a good experience, but please do not let the affect your view of Dr. Zekoff and that he still is the BEST VET IN TOWN!! He also does free spay/neuter for Shelters and anything else he can do to help neglected, abused, & abandoned pets, surgery, emergencies and all other related excellent Vet Care. As a scientist/medical researcher it didn't take me long to figure out that most vets in the area don't know much. I'm able to access all the same veterinary journals as local vets and it's shocking how little some of them know and how carelessly they prescribe medications just to make you feel as though they're doing something. After essentially interviewing most vets in town I was relieved to find Dr. Z. He really knows his stuff. Bottom line, if you're overly concerned about upfront cost, try some place else. If your primary concern is ensuring that your pet receives the best care possible, then go to Towne Square. Unlike other vets in town, Dr. Zekoff seems to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and research in veterinary medicine. My dog was sick for months and he's the only vet that recognized that my dog had a unusual parasitic infection. Other vets just kept prescribing antibiotics, some in potentially dangerous combinations, and didn't even bother to run the appropriate lab tests. One vet prescribed a dangerous combination of antibiotics and the package insert for one stated that it should only be prescribed as a last resort given its high propensity to lead to antibiotic resistance (and the dog didn't even have a bacterial infection!) and it should never be used in combination. I referred a colleague of mine to Dr. Z as a last resort for his dog that hadn't been eating for months and was wasting away. His previous vet just kept prescribing more and more Rimadyl for arthritis the dog didn't even have. Dr. Z immediately recognized that the dog had severe dental issues and basically saved the dog's life as my colleague was very close to putting the dog out of his misery. It's 4 years later and the dog is happy and healthy thanks to Towne Sq. You know the old saying, you get what you pay for. Sure, it might be a bit more expensive upfront but ultimately I feel I save more money going to Towne Square because I get the right diagnosis the first time around, rather than paying repeatedly for months of misdiagnosis that could potentially be fatal. Dr. Z cares tremendously about animals and takes his job very seriously. He doesn't just rush in and out during visits, he takes his time thoroughly examining the animal and getting a complete picture of its medical history. His concern for animal health is further evident in the newsletters we receive routinely that are chock full of information and must take him a significant amount of time to write. Our dog became very ill with vomiting and other issues. We took her to our regular vet on Friday, and started her on the meds that were prescribed. She was worse on Saturday, so we returned to the practice and saw another vet. That dr. gave a different diagnosis with different meds. We started immediately. During the night, she was getting much worse and we didn't expect her to live. We called Dr. Zekoff as friends had recommended him and he said to bring her in immediately. We were told it would be 24-36 hours before we would even know if she would make it. Monday morning, the office called and told us to come and pick her up!!! We gladly did so and pampered her according to Dr. Zeke's instructions for another couple weeks until she was fully recovered. We are forever indebted to his diagnosis, treatment, and kindnesses during our crisis! He is the best vet we have ever had and we will go to him forever! read more
