I can't express how much I really enjoyed my stay here. New updated decor, amenities, and comfortable. Room rate was $154 believe, $134 for government rate. Location was easy to find. Think the only confusion I had pulling up to the hotel was there were no sign directing to turn down the alleyway to the half-circle driveway to check-in. Significance is it gets your vehicle off the busy road way. Upon walking in, the hotel is spacious open lobby. I almost wasn't sure which direction to go in for check-in. Speaking of check-in, it is seamlessly easy and quick. From the lobby to the room, all walkways are well lit and visually inviting. Both elevators seem to be in great working condition, didn't have no bad smell to them, and had the key pad needed to use to get to your room floor (added peace of mind in regards to security). Upon entry into the room, you walk into the kitchenette area. It has a full size refrigerator, well laid out countertop with the necessities for meal prep and eating. You also walk past the bathroom, which I appreciate the doorway to not facing the bed. That bathroom has the updated LED mirror, spacious shower stall (think like 6 people could fit in), and the body soap and shampoo dispensers on the wall. The shower water was the perfect level of hotness. I mean I had to turn it down from the highest. After scoping out the bathroom, the bed area is next. It butts up to the bathroom wall facing the TV and window. They did a fabulous job laying this area out with the desk, couch, and TV. It all flows and makes sense with placement. Bed is comfortable but the pillows are too soft IMO. The window facing the bed wasn't a concern because it had the roll-up blackout curtain, that actually blocked sunlight from entering the room. I hate I only got to enjoy a a single night here. But happy I choose to stay here, it was perfect for what I needed it for, and that was resetting and recouping. From that, I highly recommend staying here if passing through Louisville. read more

We stayed here recently for 2 nights and had a good experience. The room was spacious and had a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and 2 burner stove top. The room was quiet. The pillows were a little too soft for our liking, but we each used 2 and it was fine. The AC in the room blows on your face depending on position in bed. When we powered down the TV, it seemed like it was still on and lit up the room, so we unplugged it each night. There were decent breakfast options and friendly staff. The location is walkable to Whiskey Row and other restaurants/shops in the area. We were able to find street parking at a parking meter outside that was free after 6 on Saturday and all day Sunday. read more

Disrespected, Profiled and Kicked Out. Shame on This Marriott I have been a loyal Marriott guest for years, but what happened at the Louisville Marriott on Monday, September 15, was unacceptable and honestly disturbing. I arrived at around 1:30 AM after being referred from another Marriott location due to a rate change. The front desk employee, Christian, told me I could not check in because of an "audit" and that I would need to wait until about 3:30 AM. When I asked for clarification, he called another staff member named Bill, who refused to let me speak to a manager and told me I just had to wait. Despite the confusing situation, I stayed calm and waited patiently in the lobby until I was finally allowed to check in almost two hours later. But things got worse. Around 10:00 AM, the hotel manager, Simone Mangold, called my room asking why I had booked a stay. Then she told me I had to leave by noon because a staff member claimed they felt "fearful for their life" from how I spoke the night before. That accusation is not only false but deeply insulting. I never raised my voice or acted in any threatening way. I simply asked questions, calmly and respectfully, about the check-in situation. I was trying to understand what was going on. When I asked Simone to speak with someone above her, she refused. She eventually offered to take my number but then escalated the situation and called the police. Even the officer admitted I had done nothing wrong, yet I was still forced to leave the property. My reservation clearly stated my checkout date was September 16, so I was not only mistreated but also forced out early for no valid reason. From Christian's dismissive tone to Bill's refusal to let me speak with a manager to Simone Mangold's abuse of authority, the entire experience was unacceptable. I felt profiled, disrespected, and treated as a threat for no reason other than asking for the room I paid for. I am requesting a full refund, an official apology, and compensation for the stress and disruption caused by this situation. I also urge Marriott to investigate the conduct of everyone involved. This experience was not just bad customer service. It was a violation of my trust and dignity as a paying guest. read more

The room was setup great. Lots of room. Great amenities. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was yummy and unexpectedly vast. The attendant was really sweet and nice too. Stayed at this hotel during thunder over Louisville. Found the accommodations were very good, but the thing that stood out the most was the service that Jake provided during our stay. Jake was polite, extremely helpful and went above and beyond what others would have. read more

Stayed here for a work convention. Rooms were nice and appeared to be newly remodeled. The folks at the front desk were helpful with deciding on dinner spots and the ladies at breakfast were lovely. But the main reason I am writing this review is because of the bartender, Stephen. Stephen is super knowledgeable and knows how to make drinks outside the box. He's friendly and easy going. Solid hotel on the edge of downtown Louisville. Some great places all within walking distance, but most points of interest are going to be east of the hotel. Rooms are fantastic, felt like they were brand new. Clean bed, spacious and clean bathroom, clean kitchenette area (granted I didn't use anything except the refrigerator.) Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Parking is in a garage a short walk away, as another review mentioned the elevator is on the opposite side of the garage and you have to park on the 3rd floor or higher. I injured my foot a few days before this trip, so that was pretty exhausting to have to work around. But at $19/night for downtown and very close by, it's a decent deal. Definitely could be worse. Fitness center is really small -- a few treadmills and a Peloton, a couple very short benches and some dumbbells. I was impressed with the selection of kettlebells and resistance bands and balance balls, but there's not a lot of space to use them -- especially if anyone else is in there at the same time. All in all I would absolutely stay here again. read more

I Watched My Friend Get Profiled and Treated Like a Criminal for No Reason I was there when this happened. We were on tour and checked in at the Louisville Marriott late on September 15. My friend had a reservation and we were told by Christian at the front desk that we could not check in because of an audit. He called a man named Bill who refused to let us speak to a manager and told us to wait. We waited in the lobby for hours. No yelling. No drama. Just confusion. We finally got the room and went to bed. Then the next morning Simone Mangold, the manager, called my friend and told him we had to leave. She said someone was scared of him. That made no sense. He never raised his voice or acted aggressive. He just asked why we were being told to wait for so long. They called the police on him. For what? The officer literally said we had not done anything wrong but still made us leave. That was humiliating. We were guests who paid for the room through the next day. This was not just bad service. This was by far the worst Marriott property I booked! I came down to celebrate my birthday in Louisville, Ky because that's where I'm from. We drove all the way from Tennessee to Ky to celebrate. At first they were vary accommodating so that's the reason for the one star but as the time went by it got worse. I say it got worse because there was a weird odd smell that lingered in our room for some time. We're pretty tolerant people so instead of complaining we went out and bought air freshener and drench the room with it to find out the next day it was still there. We couldn't take it and instead of saying something at the moment because we wanted to give them a chance and decided to leave for a few hours and come back to see if that awful smell went away and to our surprise it was not it was in full effect! So I made the decision for my family to pack up are stuff and drive back to Tennessee and in the process I called the front desk and told them our situation and the first thing that employee at the front desk said was "why didn't you let us know at 12? WE COULDVE SOLD THAT ROOM TO SOMEONE ELSE" not a im sorry for the inconvenience but mainly talking about business and and no customer service. Oh and to mention she was so rude I asked for her name a second time and she proceeded to lie to me and tell me her name was Ashley even though I know what what she said her name was at the beginning. So not only was your employee rude but she also lied about her name. So fast forward since she was rude I called customer service and after about 45 minutes we got it resolved. The agent on the phone said the order was canceled but here's the kicker I didn't give the employee permission or agree to cancel. The customer service rep said oh no you didn't cancel with the employee. I said no because I wanted to speak with customer service first to see what they can do to help me in this situation. The agent on the phone via customer service said that she shouldn't have done that and will rectify the issue. All in all the agent did in fact rectify my issue and my birthday experience a whole lot better. But for this hotel I can not say this was great. One person especially the front end section can really make a hotel crumble. Also after looking back on my account someone put the hotel back on my account. I don't know who or why but I'm keeping an eye out to see what happens. I WILL NOT BE BACK AT ALL. read more

We stayed here for two nights while visiting town. When we got here, the parking was easy to find behind the hotel and cheaper than most hotels in the area. The lobby was nice and clean, and staff greeted us when we arrived. We use the mobile key, which was pretty slow to activate doors, but it was fine. Our room was clean, spacious, and cooled nicely. The bathroom was really nice, too, but I wished the shower got hotter than it did. Also, we found we are only two blocks from Michter's and a bunch of other cool bars. We would definitely stay in this hotel again, everything is brand new and clean. No weird hotel smells. The room was immaculate with a little kitchenette. The shower was clean and there were no cracks in the tile around the base of the tub.....rare!! The staff were all very courteous and polite and helpful. They offer a free hot breakfast, which I have not tried yet. Update, the breakfast opens at 6:30, I try to get some water out of the drink machine, I asked the breakfast lady working the breakfast, "is this where I get water?" and she said yes and stands there watching me try to get water out of a machine that was turned off, and she just smirked and turned her head. And then asked her is the machine off, and she smirked and said yes, and walked away. Very rude. I don't know what's up with her attitude or the chip she's carrying around on her shoulder but not very good customer service. read more

Stayed here and the building looks fantastic. The room was great. Good sized shower, great beds and the kitchen had everything we needed. All of the staff we spoke to were very friendly. The parking situation isn't awful but it is a garage and you have to park at the 3rd or higher and the elevator is on the opposite side of the parking garage. Could be an issue for those who don't do stairs well. The only other negative is that the no smoking rule isn't strongly enforced. Our whole floor smelled like smoke for most of the stay. The staff did try to cover the smell but it didn't address the fact people were smoking in their room and putting some into the whole floor. I would stay again for sure. read more

Absolute nightmare. When it rains there are buckets all over the lobby to catch the water. There is constantly a raw sewage smell. The carpets are threadbare and torn in some areas. One of the elevators is constantly broke. Skip this one. read more

Me and my dad booked this place to stay for the weekend, for a basketball tournament. At first it looks breathtaking, nice furniture, great decor, but oh I was wrong. We got into our room and started unpacking from our basketball tournament. I didn't expect anything because the place looked nice one of the best places I've stayed at for a tournament. So after we got done unpacking we went out for lunch and went to the baseball slugger museum. We got back, I was tired so I laid down into my bed. I scrolled on my phone for half an hour and got up to see what my dad was doing. When I got up I see a tiny bug crawl in the baseboard behind my bed so I alert my dad. I start to panic because I was laying in a infested bed for 30 minutes. We called the front desk and he said, "We might do something about it." Are you serious we had a room with bed bugs in it and you "might" do something about it. It was just outrageous. But I learned something out of it looks can be deceiving, i mean who would've thought this place would have bed bugs. So if you go here I suggest you look for bedbugs which you shouldn't have to. read more
