This was a nice spot even if only one night. Pleasant and helpful staff, very clean room and confiable bed. The only downside was the bathroom sink. It drained slowly due to the stopper being immobilized. There was no handle for it and I couldn't pull It out. Outside of that the room was nice. The complementary breakfast was ok and not due to anything being wrong I'm just particular about it. I was able to have a cinnamon raisin bagel and a few eggs, some good coffee and fruit. My son had the make you're own Belgian waffles and something else I don't remember. We were both satisfied and that's what was important. It was a good location just as a came into town and leaving after a family funeral. I would stay there again. read more

The shower is gross, there is hair in there that is not mine, and before the hotel responds and says, "you should have let us know." This is mold! Don't pretend like the shower usually gets cleaned and got missed this one time. Do better. Editing: The sink is completely stopped up. I brushed my teeth and it takes the water 10 minutes to drain. Average until the "renovations" are complete Hotel has nice, central, Slidell location. It is currently under different renovations, and it really needs them. My actual ROOM was clean and large! However, a few things about the hotel put this particular property in the "average" category: only one ice machine in the entire hotel (fyi, it's across from the front desk), doors in the hotel (other than front door) where propped open all day due to construction (think added humidity, dirt & security issues), only one elevator in the whole hotel and it is old & very slow. Food area was very clean, but very average. Staff were all very friendly, but pricing and the condition of the remainder of the hotel send it directly to the 'average' category. read more

Absolutely, horrible horrible experience. The mattress was so soft it killed you. We chose to sleep on the sleeper sofa if you can imagine that was better than the mattress. We asked to switch rooms for a firmer bed and maybe one with a box spring under it as ours had none and they claim that every mattress in the hotel was to that quality or lack of quality which I find hard to believe I think they just didn't want to move us. And don't even get me going on the free breakfast. I don't even know what the eggs were but they were not real eggs and they were cold- was absolutely disgusting. The coffee I took one sip poured it down the drain and it was so bad. We are a lifetime platinum Marriott rewards members, and always choose Marriott first when one is available whenever we travel and I can't even believe that Marriott put their name on this hotel. I try to stay at Marriott when I can. They just seem a little nicer and a little cleaner compared to Hilton properties. Breakfast bars seem to have a better selection. This is great spot if you are in Slidell. So food is around like a Jimmy johns/wingstop and a gas station. Across the street I'm there are plenty of options but a bummer you can't walk to any of it. Everything is car related. Rooms are a good size with lots of amenities including hot plate! Some of the hotel is showing some wear and tear like walls, carpeting and the pool was out of order. If I am back in the area I would be staying here again. read more

Great place to stay near eateries and shopping just outside of NOLA. We stayed in a nice 2 bedroom suite. This is great for our fa ily of five. Each bedroom had a HD TV so we had 3 TVs in total so the teens were happy. The complimentary breakfast was good. It had the basics: coffee, juice, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, sausage, & yogurt.It looses a star because of the noise level. Although we enjoyed the three thermostats- (yes 3!) when it shut down you could hear the highway cars. I got woken up several times by the construction trucks right next door. Aside from this, great hotel for families! Tip: Ask for a room on the opposite side of the construction;) read more

We always stay at Marriott hotels. I have to say, this hotel was very nice. It was a little loud in the lobby when we first got there but things quickly settled down. Two of the kids slept on the pull out couch and they said "it was so amazing". My daughters exact words were, "it felt like I was sleeping in dreamland". That's pretty good, especially for a pull out couch. The hotel looked brand new and the room was very clean. The bathroom was very nice and very spacious. There weren't many healthy snack options and we couldn't find any local delivery so we settled for popcorn and bedtime. read more

Everything about my stay was wonderful at the time! However when I returned home and reviewed my bank account, I had a $167 charge for the room (expected) and another $100 charge on my credit card (unexpected). It turns out there is a $108.70 pet fee that I was NOT TOLD ABOUT. So I ended up having my stay nearly doubled in costs because of something that I was not told about. Again, I had a great stay, but that was before I realized it was a nearly $300 price for a single night out in Slidell, LA. Absolutely unreasonable price for a single room for a single night, and I find it hard to imagine this isn't intentionally misleading. The pet fee is nearly as much as a room? This hotel is pretty typical of the Marriott Chain and I have no complaints about the property itself. The problem is the pet fee. We were charged $100 for a "non-refundable pet deposit" for our dog. We caused no damage, but still had to pay it. If you have a pet, shop the area. read more

Overall: If you're visiting the Slidell or Covington area in LA, this is the perfect place to stay! This hotel is frequently used for long term visits (hence the pots, pans, dishwasher, etc. in each room) but works just as well for short visits. Located about an hour away from the MSY airport, these suites are extremely clean and offer every amenity you can think of. Complimentary parking is provided in the outdoor parking lot, as well as complimentary breakfast. Breakfast begins at 5:30 am for those early birds and is available until roughly 9:30 am. There's also an outdoor pool and patio area for smoking. Breakfast: The breakfast bar is extremely clean with plenty of seating. There was a large vat with Quaker oatmeal for both days that I was there, as well as raisins, walnuts, and brown sugar as toppings. They also had waffle batter that you could pour into the waffle maker for fresh waffles, as well as chocolate chips for topping them off. In addition to this they had a juice machine, boiled eggs, egg omelettes, sausage patties, and your everyday toast, bagels, and muffins. They have a few coffee pots and hot water pitchers situated near a bowl of fruit and yogurt for pick-me-ups throughout the day. I will definitely come back if I'm visiting the area again. My girls and I came into town from Texas for the weekend and stayed at the TownePlace Suites. From the time we checked in, until checked out, the service was exceptional. Nina, in particular, took excellent care of us. She, without a doubt, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. I stayed at this hotel this weekend and although my stay was short, it was a good experience. The rooms were cleaned and well kept, there were no signs of bed bugs or any other rodents and the service was awesome. I called for more towels and they were there in literally 1 minutes as if they were standing outside my door. The only thing I can say was not on point was that I elected for early checkin and extra towels in the room via the website when I booked and they had to check for a room when we arrived so of course the towels weren't there but none of that overshadowed everything else. Overall nice, clean hotel. We loved having a kitchenette and very large bathroom, plus seating area. However, the stay could have been far better by having a better breakfast offering. There just wasn't a great selection when it came to warm food. There's also some shopping and restaurant options directly across the street. read more

Beautiful hotel! They have the best hotel rooms!!! It was stocked with dishes, silverware, cups.. you name it! It felt like a mini home while I was away from home. The room also included a flat top stove, a microwave, dishwasher and a double door fridge/freezer. The bathrooms had amazing lighting. All areas were spacious. Kudos to them! Great hotel - Friendly service, excellent breakfast in the morning. Loved that they had onsite laundry. Front desk staff very kind and accommodating. This is a great hotel for business and family travel as well. We booked a two bedroom suite here several days in advance, and when we arrived were told the room had been sold and was no longer available. We drove 7 hours with a 3 and 1 year old and were unapologetically put in a one bedroom room. When I complained to the manager on duty I was told that when booking a room it is just a request, and that you're only guaranteed a room, not the actual type of room you booked. Never in my life have I booked a particular type of room and been given anything but that room. Terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. The staff here could care less if you come back in the future. read more
