The transit center is divided into two areas. The bus stops are well-labeled with electronic signs with approximate arrival times shown. They added bathrooms as well, so no longer is there pee on the ground as before renovations! I also believe they added more security here. Additionally, they just opened a Metro store here where you can buy fares, ask questions, etc. in the little building. It is super easy to catch a bus here to go downtown. There is free parking at this transit center which is a plus, and it looks pretty safe. I have left my car here during the day with no problems, and I haven't seen any broken glass on the ground. That being said, please be aware if leaving vehicles at night and make sure there are no valuables in sight! tl;dr since they renovated this transit center it is much nicer, cleaner, and safer.

If you did not know but…read moreHouston Metro has a service call Metro Lift, it is for people who can not drive or walk to the closet bus spot safely. And this service is like ride share app, where they will pick you at the door and drop you off at the door. If you have a wheeler or in wheeler, no problems, you will get you in the vehicle safely and secure you safely. You have to qualify for the service and you have to go through an interview at the main building in downtown. I really appreciation the Metro Lift as it let me be independent on going to places in Houston safely and not relying on family or friends all the time. The downtown main building is also the Downtown Transit Center. You can also buy your Metro Lift paper ticket here and get a new ID here. Also getting my lost item back was painless and easy.

But it's still a 4 star service, and when my car is out of action I'm very grateful for it. I wrote 2 different reviews for this, so here's the longer other one. Respect my transit authority! I know some would say I would be better off riding the Metrosexual Transit Authority, but I felt comfortable on this bus service too. Not literally comfortable though, because holy lack of suspension, batman. I've had a few bad experiences since the first time I thought Houston buses deserve a 5 star rating, but I'm still very grateful for them every time my car isn't working. Like I said before: Still one of the better bus services in the country. I've ridden NYC, LA, DC, Boston, Miami, and a ton more I can't even think of, and Houston is up there with my favourites. It's not as cheap as I think it should be, but then most bus services in major cities aren't. One of the best features of the Houston Metro is the awesome train that runs from the University area to downtown and if they could expand that to other parts of the city it'd be even better. Also Houston could use a really extensive subway system to ease the loads on its overstuffed highways. Most of the drivers are super friendly (and hit on my friend a lot, but then her pink hair is part of it), most of the buses are on time, and they send text updates to tell you when the bus is going to be along. I did have a couple of very aggressive bus drivers lately, but that's to be expected.

My insurance was helping pay for a rental vehicle while my personal vehicle was being repaired at a…read morebody shop. I had asked this location if they happened to have an upgraded vehicle such as an SUV as that is what I normally drive. I needed a bigger vehicle for work purposes. This location told me they did NOT have any bigger vehicles on the lot, so I went with the regular car and just had to make ends meet on my end for the time being. To my suprise, when I returned the vehicle I was going to be charged over 200 dollars for an over due rental (This is what they told me on site). I called my insurance and they were able to clear it. No big deal. A week later, my credit card was charged an additonal 175. Turns out they put me down for an upgraded vehicle when all I received was a regular sized car. I once again called my insurance company to figure out what they were actually covering vs what happened at the lot. Called enterprise and notified them of this problem, they told me to call insurance, insurance told me to call Enterprise... either which way I was ripped off from enterprise as they rented me something I did not actually recieve and they will not fix the problem. Absolutely ridiculous and shady behavior all the way around. I'm out of a good amount of money and looks like I won't be getting it back.

On the way back from Houston, both our driver and Carlos contacted us to ensure the pick up went smoothly. Again, great driver and nice, easy ride home. The vans were large and clean, perfect for our party of 10! Highly recommend this company for transports in the Houston area!
