An employee let me know that he'd have the owner, Russ, give me a call in the morning. In the morning, Russ called and we discussed what I needed. He had a couple calls to make, and then he said he'd let me know about coming out to give an estimate. Instead, he came by the house (fortunately, I was home) and we discussed the job. As the price was reasonable, I discussed a couple other related issues. We agreed on a price for all of it that I would consider a good value. He was available the next day (today). We agreed on a time, 11am, and he was here within 5-10 minutes of that with his crew of two others. I was a little nervous that he was using a ground crew (no bucket) to take down a relatively tall tree between my house and a neighbor's house. However, I needn't worry. The method worked beautifully. His crew mostly kept to themselves. They did everything they'd promised to do. Heck, they even took away an old Christmas tree I still had outside that had never made its way to the curb. After about 3-4 hours, their trailer was completely full. It was a good stopping point with pretty much everything done other than some additional clean-up and trimming down the stump a bit more. That's to come. I'm confident they will follow-through. This company has reportedly been around awhile, though they're new on Yelp. I'm quite pleased. Communication was good. The work was done on time. The work is of good quality, and the pricing was fair. Russ himself is friendly - he knew I was stuck in my home due to an unexpected car issue, and more than once he offered to bring something back when he had to run an errand. Quite nice. I would, and most certainly will, use them again.

While he was looking at one particular tree, he told me it was 'hollow'. I am still unclear what he was trying to explain and achieve except for the fact that it would cost much more to take the whole tree down instead of just trimming it up a bit. The tree looked alive and well except that it needed a few branches removed. Before he left he took my email address and said he would send me a quote right away. I had tried to text him several times within the following week to get the quote by email, and was told again that he would send it to me right away. I now think I have been 'ghosted' or blown off altogether. I am done trying to communicate with them. There are far too many tree trimming services out there that would be happy to have my business. I think it's very weird, disrespectful, uncool, flaky, rude,...... and not to mention, a highly unprofessional way to treat potential repeat customers. It's beyond aggravating and annoying. They could have at least communicated with me one way or another to let me know what was going on, or where they stood with the situation; namely being, if they could even do the job at all. The other companies that looked at the job gave me a paper quote right on the spot. That's the way to do business, to NOT stall or make the customer wait. It's a lazy, pretentious and shady way to do business. I won't do business with them anymore. I gave them far too many chances.
