Dr. Sarah Hobart is phenomenal. I had a knee injury that was very resistant to conservative treatments and I came to Dr. Hobart for a surgical consult. She was very thorough, answered ALL of my questions, and explained things in a technical, but understandable way. She took my concerns seriously, didn't dumb things down, and really knew her stuff. It's clear she's great at what she does - not only did the surgery go perfectly, but the staff at the hospital showed a lot of respect for her skill. When I told someone she was my surgeon, they told me I didn't have to worry about a thing because she was a perfectionist in the operating room. And that happened multiple times. read more

Stopped by today 7/16/ 2026 at the Plumtree location to schedule an appointment. Had my referral in hand. I was told that I wasn't able to schedule in person at the office and was provided with a phone number and extension to call. Called the number and put on hold for 15 minutes. Person answered and said I dialed the wrong extension. I used the extension they provided. I advised the person I needed to schedule an appointment with Doctor Tsay for a EMG and I have a referral. She asked from what office and I told her. She said that the office I provided wasn't compatible with their system and I have to fax the referral to them. I said I was just at the Plumtree location why couldn't I have left a copy. She said it didn't work that way. So how am I supposed to fax it over when I don't have a fax machine. Something has to give with our medical system and people need to do their jobs. The system is failing. It's ridiculous to have to go through all these hoops to schedule an appointment. Easy appointment. Front staff was friendly. Not a long wait for doctor. His manners and promptness was well. I was there to get cortisone shots in each shoulder because I have frozen shoulder. He explained just what would take place. Office was very cleaned. He began to set up for the procedure. It was quick and not painful like I thought it would be. He explained that the medication may take a few days to start working. If any discomfort I can apply ice packs. This was definitely an informative and comfortable visit. Due to an injury, I have been visiting TOA since January 2025 and I am not extremely happy. Dr. Sarah Hobart is fine as a person I guess but she wasn't very informative about what to expect with this kind of injury at the beginning. When the patient is the person leading the conversation by asking the questions, that's a bad sign. After they removed the cast and the brace (two months), I started experiencing CRPS all of a sudden and I didn't even know I could get that until I could not sleep at night. I called the office to make an phone appointment with Dr. Hobart, and that led to a bad interaction with the desk information assistant, Ann, a person who is not trained to be a doctor or a nurse, but started recommending me to make an appointment with a nerve specialist at the clinic. We went back and forth because apparently she knew very well what I was passing through. I got very upset and I told her that her job was to schedule a call so that I could talk to Dr. Hobart. We scheduled that for certain day during that week at 4pm. I don't know what she did, but Dr. Hobart called me at 8:30am and at 1pm. Fortunately, I could take the call at 1pm. Dr. Hobart prescribed Gabapentin and she told me she would send the order right away to my pharmacy. That afternoon, I went to the pharmacy at 5pm and my prescription wasn't there. I had to call the clinic after hours but they were closed. Luckily, there was someone on call and a different doctor sent the order a few minutes later. Moving on, on Monday March 3, I saw Dr. Hobart at the Rosedale location and she prescribed a compression glove. She told me they had them at the Towson location. I went there next day, and they had them, but not in my size and they told me they weren't not ordering more. I didn't know where else to go. These people in the orthopedic store weren't very helpful either. Anyhow, people don't help much there. That day, I asked to pay and Ann said I had reached my max. and I didn't have to pay. On March 21 I received a bill online via InstaMed. Moving on, on March 18 I had to call to get a refill of Gabapentin, and because Dr. Hobart does not write all details of our conversations, that created another issue with the desk assistant (Ann), who mistakes a patient giving the facts for a person ready to argue. She put me on hold for 20 minutes. I had to call again. Second, she said that I already had had a refill which is not true. They prescribed the refill but the pharmacy rejected it because of the notes about the dosage. The bottle said to take 1 per night instead 1-3 as needed. I had to call again. Ann (secretary) said she was trying to tell me that. Not true. She was trying to discredit, and contradicting me saying that the doctor could not possibly have prescribed it like that. Anyhow, I asked if they could call the pharmacy to change the description of it and she said no. She put me on hold (this time I could hear Dr. Hobart in the back) and since according to them they could not do anything about Gabapentin, they prescribed me Meloxicam, which is a different drug for something totally different. I left it there because obviously they didn't want to take the time to call the pharmacy and fix their mistake. After work I called but this time to ask to talk to a manager. I did talked to Paige. I explained to her everything from beginning to end, all the issues I had had with both. I also explained the issue with the medication. She said that she would fix the issue. And she did. I had a refill for Gabapentin waiting for me at the pharmacy soon after we ended the conversation. I wanted to change to a different doctor, but she convince me to keep seeing Dr. Hobart. Since I like to give second chances, I agreed. I went to physical therapy for many weeks and Dr. Hobart said she wanted to see me in June before my trip on the summer. Since the last X-rays had shown the the bone had grown beautifully, she said that x-rays would not be necessary. My last appointment was for June 2 at 10:45am at the Rosedale location. I arrived on time. One hour later I hadn't been see yet. The assistant came for an X-ray and I told him what Dr. Hobart had said to me in the last visit. He went to consult. No X-Rays were taken. That tells me several things: she does not remember. I don't expect a doctor to remember everything, but I do expect them to write notes about everything they say to the patient and I expect them to review the history with the patient before a visit. I also expect them to see the patient at the time they scheduled the visit. Unfortunately, after 1 hour waiting I had to go. I needed to be at 12:30pm at a graduation and I needed to go to my house before that. So I approached the desk and I ask for my copay. They asked me if I needed to reschedule and I said no because I wanted to talk to the manager AGAIN. I called her as I was walking to my car. She didn't pick up, of course. I left a very informative message and I am still waiting. read more

I can hardly believe these reviews I have been reading. I would never go to another practice. I don't care if I have to wait to see a doctor or the receptionist may be rude. I want a qualified surgeon. I have been going to Towson Orthopaedic for many, many years. First with my children and their sports injuries, and now with me and my husband for age-related orthopaedic problems. We have been through broken legs and arms, back surgery, rotator cuff surgeries, carpal tunnel surgeries, meniscus surgery, 4 knee replacements, you name it. Towson Orthopaedic is the best. I highly recommend Dr. Brian Mulliken for knee replacement. BTW, never had any problem with the staff being rude. Go figure, after 35 years. read more

I went in for a broken wrist. Dr Bruce Wolock is the hand / wrist specialist who treated me. He and the entire staff were fantastic. Always friendly, super efficient, knowledgeable and now I'm in recovery mode. Type of care, quality of care and office experience were all top notch. I would highly recommend them! My PCP referred me to Dr. Timothy Codd regarding a shoulder issue. I called TOA for an appointment, and got one within 10 days. Arrived for the appointment, was greeted by front desk personnel, filled out required paperwork, and was taken to an exam room within 15 minutes. Dr. Codd arrived a short time later. We discussed my problem, set up a treatment plan, and we were on our way out the door. I've read the dozen or so negative patient evaluations listed here. This was my first interaction with TOA and Dr. Codd, and I'm impressed. The office personnel were polite, courteous, and efficient. Dr. Codd was pleasant, professional, and answered all of our questions. I am a retired healthcare professional with 45 years of direct patient care under my belt so I feel particularly qualified to comment on my experience at TOA. I am TOTALLY satisfied that there is NOTHING TOA and their employees need to do to improve the services they render. They are TOP NOTCH in every way! Thank you Dr. Codd. read more

I truly hate to give negative reviews but when it comes to helping others than I will. I came here because my hip was sore and I couldn't move my leg without being in pain. They did an X-ray and she said it's bursitis and arthritis and offered a cortisone shot for bursitis on the side of my hip. Afterwords she didn't offer any explanation for why I have it except for aging, I'm only 52. I asked about treatment and she said ice it. I asked about an MRI to see about a possible tear and she said it wasn't needed. My hip didn't feel any better and I was determined to find out why I'm in so much pain. I saw a doctor from MedStar who did a proper exam and determined from the range of motion test that I shouldn't be in that much pain for just arthritis. He immediately scheduled an MRI. Guess what they found? I have a stress fracture of my temporal head and multiple tears. So I would have been sent out in the world thinking it's just arthritis and keep on getting cortisone shots for pain only to make things worse. Always listen to your intuition and don't ever let a doctor make you feel silly for asking to dig deeper for answers. I could never recommend this place. With all these bad reviews I hope that Towson Orthopaedic Associates looks into changing their ways. read more

I normally do not leave reviews, but my experience with Dr. Detterline forces me to do so. Even though he was condescending and arrogant when I met him for urgent care hours, that is not the issue. He ordered an MRI on my acutely injured left knee, and never followed up with the results. The MRI was done the day after I saw him, and it has been two weeks and multiple phone calls with messages left at his office, and still no response. My pain and the severity of swelling in my left leg has intensified significantly over the last two weeks, and I had to go to the emergency room. It would've been nice to have Dr. Detteine keep his Hippocratic oath and not completely ignore a patient in need. Neglect is doing harm. I can't see any reason to ever go to Towson orthopedic. Even if you are seen, nothing will be done afterwards. read more

Waited 3 hours in the waiting room for a follow up appointment. I have ended my care today after 21 years going to this practice for foot issues, after I was told I could wait to see the doctor. I never got to see the doctor for my 5 minute appointment, I walked out as there was no communication from the staff other then , the doctor will fit you in. In the past I have waited hours in this office, for Doc is always overbooked. So sad the way the office staff treats patients. Inflated egos, and empowered clerks, and secretaries think they know better then the doctors. I guess they want to go home on time is my guess. You will get no empathy here, just a smirk and a bill. went there a few months ago with hand pain. the doctor spent about 3 minutes with me and told me to put Voltaren on it (!). after that I just wanted to get out of there, so I paid my co-pay and left. today I got a letter threatening me with a collection agency for less than $18 they claimed I still owed. I paid it immediately but I never received an email, phone call or letter prior to getting this horrible letter. They are unprofessional and incompetent. Go anywhere else. read more

Don't go here. Worst doctors' office ever. They require testing but it can only be done by their people. Then when you get the test they say it was inconclusive you have to go for a second time and then won't call you with results. They tell you that you have to make another appointment to see the doctor. I don't know of any doctor in a pandemic that would not speak to you on the phone. So this would be four visits to their office just to see if I have carpal tunnel. They really should have been able to tell after two mac. They make you have unnecessary appointments so they can bill your insurance multiple times. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

My husband was referred to TOA. I called for two days trying to get an appointment for my husband when his MRI test results showed two fractures in his pubic bone. TOA had access to the MRI report that was supposed to be shared with all of their specialists. If someone could see him they will call him directly in 1-2 hours. None of the specialists responded. Later, the pleasant office manager called to say that they do not see people with that type of fracture. What? Aren't they orthopedic specialists, and they don't see a patient with a bone fracture? read more

I don't have enough good things to say about this practice. My daughter went to urgent care and we found out that she had a pretty serious break in one of her fingers and her tendon was no longer attached to the finger. They were able to fit us in immediately and had her diagnosed and casted on the same visit. We were able to avoid service visits and additional castings. I recommend at this practice to everybody. read more

Went to see Dr Tredinnick for Cortisone shots in my knees at the Rosedale office. His chair side manner was rude and mean. He told me if I came back again for a 2nd shot he would refer me to one of his colleagues for a knee replacement. He never cared about my not having any help at home and that I lived on 2 floors. One bathroom. He made me so upset and mad that I wouldn't recommend him to a dead horse. I found Dr Tredinnick to be arrogant and mean. How he got the Bob Howard award must have been bought. He didn't deserve it. Dr Howard was a HUMARITARIAN Dr Tredinnick is not interested in patients EXCEPT for money. I would never go back to that careless idiot again. Stay away from Dr Tredinnick. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Towson Orthopedics. It is a shame that everyone I spoke to was rude,disinterested and unhelpful. Sometimes a large practice forgets the importance of customer service. However, we have many options and other doctors to choose from in the Baltimore Metro area. I wonder if the doctors have any idea that their staff is turning people off from using their practice. read more

The staff at the Spine Center was not caring or responsive. Though my pain was acute, they did not help to expedite appointments or tests. After a month, I was worse off than when I started and still didn't have a treatment plan. Moving on to another practice that actually cares. read more
