This place is loaded with everything you would want. Star Wars, GI Joe, Transformers, etc...new and vintage. My son found some vintage Star Wars toys that we had never seen before. The store is literally packed with so much cool stuff. The owner was super nice and even gave my son some freebies. Definitely worth the trip, if you are into vintage toys. read more

This place is great! I stopped in here while visiting friends in Phoenix. I always like to check out the local collector scene in cities when I visit and this was one of the best reviewed stores and was close by. Their collection of new and vintage toys is incredible. It's like a walk down memory lane. I found a GIJOE Classified figure I was looking for that had beens old out online for a while and I always like to support local when possible. This little shop is like a treasure trove of memories combined with every kid's wishlist. There are collectibles ranging from the 1970s all the way to ones that came out this week. I found presents for the Star Wars, superhero, Transformers, Disney, video game and Ninja Turtles fans in my family. They have so much to choose from that it was easy to find something for everyone. Their prices are competitive and they gave me a deal because I had so many things I was buying at once. I've been going back every other week to see what new treasures came in. Found this place looking for Hot Toys sellers, we LOVE coming here. The owner is so helpful and will answer any questions you have as well as look in the back for anything you're looking for. He gives fair prices for a reseller and always has new stuff in stock. There is so much to look at in this store! Just a terrible experience every visit. Horrible customer service, both employees are rude and will make you feel like it's a burden to show you an item behind the glass case. I have spent a lot of money on figures here over the years and promise not to return. The woman that works there may be the most unpleasant person to deal with in my years of collecting. They will always be on the phone or packing something up or unloading packages to even care that a customer is there waiting to make a big purchase. There was also a time I spent all weekend gathering toys for trade or to sell and drove a far distance to show them. Ken said my stuff was worthless without even looking at it, didn't even bother to walk a few feet outside to look at what took me hours to prepare. Arnold is amazing and a joy to deal with but he is not there most of the time. I drive more than 45 mins to visit this store and each time my experience has been worse because of how I am treated. Very rude people (except Arnold) and I do not recommend this place. Go to The Toy Box or Collectors Marketplace instead. read more

I take my son here quite a bit so he can find action figures that he wants. I have to say this is hands down the best place for that, and I've been to pretty much every place in the valley that sells figures. Toy anxiety has the widest variety, old and new. read more

I do like this hobby shop a lot but last time had a poor experience. The first time went great bought about $100 and asked about other items. This last time I came in with $200+ because I wanted Subzero from World Box. I did not get a greeting when I came in and faced the owner/employee. Nor did I get any questions of any kind. The owners/employees were too concerned with customers touching things and I left immediately afterwards. Every customer during the Amazon era enters your store, they are there to buy from you. Even if I don't like anything but am greeted I will buy something knowing how difficult it is for retailers to compete especially hobby retailers. read more

This is not a toy store for children. This is a toy store for grown men who collect small, plastic figurines (yes, I said figurines) molded to resemble characters from their favorite movies and TV shows. This may sound odd to some of you but believe me there are more of them out there than you think. If the toys are new, they may claim that they are an investment and that they will be valuable someday; if old they say they want something that they loved as a child to be passed on to their own children for that sense of nostalgia. Either way, all lovers of toys and action figures will be well satisfied by this place. Their selection of comic book based figures was fairly limited but they did have some of the more obscure characters so that was nice. Lots of "Star Wars" of course but I was surprised no Lego versions. They had some "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter" stuff that was pretty cool. Also TV shows like "Battlestar Galactica" and "Buffy". I got a cool zombie toy based on the AMC's show "The Walking Dead". They even had "retro" toys from "Terminator" and "Back To The Future". Awesome!!! They did have some truly collectable pieces behind the counter for the big bucks but I am not into that at all. Most of their items were very reasonably priced. They even had used toys in bargain bins. I got a ziplock bag full of dinosaurs for my nephews for just a dollar. You can't beat that. They did have gift cards available so that was a big plus, too! read more

I found this place one day while waiting for my food at Dragon Palace. I am not the nerdy toy buff and collector type, but this place is fun. Lots of fine new and vintage toys starting at $1.00. I was able to find some great Star Wars toys for my son as well as some classics including The Beatles Yellow Submarine. In addition, plenty of Marvel and DC Comic based items. The store is open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. It can be a challenge to find open. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. From my experience the customers are truly originals! My first time in the store an Elvis impersonator told my four year old that he is pushy and rude. I will leave it at that.......... Some of the toys are from McDonald's/Burger King which is a good thing. I would rather get my son the toy here than go to the fast food h*ll and pay double to have some unedible food type items in a card board box. If you are around the area, check it out. Even if you are not into toys, this place will likely bring up some position memories of yesterday. read more

If you are like me, and lucky enough to have visited Toy Anxiety, it is surely the new standard for toy stores. The place is packed full of toys; old, new, pre-loved, collectible, classic...you name it and they have it. When you enter the stores' jam packed full of toys location, you can't help but be overwhelmed. After orienting yourself with the layout and "zones" it turns in to a real life treasure hunt. There is something for everyone here. One of the things I love most about this place; There are a few plastic chests of drawers full of $1 toys, the perfect distraction for a toddler that would otherwise be tearing apart originally packaged, extremely expensive action figures or "riding" an AT-AT, thus allowing the adults to enjoy Toy Anxiety to the fullest. read more

Spilling over with variety, they supply some of the classiest of figures ranging from everything out there. Their service is excellent, friendly and up front with the process if you're there to buy, sell or trade. They split up their specialities, which makes trading or identifying pieces a little difficult if you go on the wrong day. Worse still if you're visiting the wrong location since some of their guys only specialize in certain stuff. I'd recommend calling ahead before coming in with trades. I've come in several times to buy and trade and I am immensely satisfied with the service and definitely the ample variety of outstanding toys available. read more

Hands down the best specialty toy shop in the Phoenix area! I have been a loyal customer of Toy Anxiety since they were Empire of Toys on 12th street. Each time I walk in, I'm instantly transported back to my childhood and amazed at the variety and selection of new/vintage action figures,prop replicas and many other items I could only dream of as a kid. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the products available in the shop and I have often been stuck in many nerd conversations while visiting. There was a large selection, and looking around is fun. But the staff fluctuate between disinterested and rude. And it's waaaay overpriced. If you consider buying something there I highly recommend googling it first. We've bought quite a bit of items we saw in there for muuuuuuch less online. They have arcade game machines you can buy at Walmart marked up by at least $200. They had little Lego packs for $20 that are $10 at Walmart. Fun for 15 minutes of browsing, but I wouldn't return. read more

Incredible store, incredible service incredible prices! Everyone is always so friendly and ready to talk to you and answer whatever questions you have! They have great selection and variety. Almost never walk out empty handed. Always have great prices, especially for their 3.75 inch Star Wars. So many cool toys from the 80s! Took my kid there a few weeks back and he loved it. Will be stopping by again soon so he can pick out a toy. Workers are nice and very helpful with any questions you have about trade ins and getting in certain toys. Was a long time customer since they were in their old location. Noticed recently that the staff does not greet you or look at you when you're in the store and are not very that friendly upon check out like they used to be. Last time my friend wanted to go but I was reluctant because of how the staff has been. Went anyway and same thing happened. A woman and man were sitting behind the register talking to each other the whole time. I stood directly in front of them because I was looking at the items behind them (they put a lot of small figures behind them where it's harder to see). They never once looked up or asked if I needed help. I even said aloud to my friend that I felt invisible and no response. That was it. I have the Collector's Marketplace around the corner from me where when you walk in, they greet you and they check on you when you're in the store to see if there's anything they can do to help and super friendly when checking out. Of course they also have a huge selection because they are a much larger store. I still wanted to support Toy Anxiety since I've been a customer for so long and still remember how great it used to be, especially at their old location. I am all for supporting small businesses, but if they don't care about my business, I have no reason to go back. read more

They have a great selection of collectibles to choose from, even as I was checking out I noticed more stuff. The two main things I noticed that struck my interest was sideshow and funko. I even found sideshow statues from around 2010. The people working their were also very nice and willing to cut you a deal if you buy multiple things. One of my favorite stores in Arizona. Although it's small, I can spend upwards of 30 minutes looking around. There's a ton of stuff (updated regularly). It's got great customer service. I've dealt with "Ken" on multiple occasions. Great guy; he's always so eager to help. He's really relaxed and cool, too. The prices are always fair. Me and my friend have bought things that end up being more expensive on amazon.com. I've been to many other toy stores and comic book shops, and that rarely happens. The trade-in feature is also very neat. I made $15 in cash for a couple of Star Wars figures. Very satisfying experience. I'm not really a toy collector or anything, but every time I visit the store it's a blast. Definitely check this one out. read more

Pretty cool store, with a wide array of franchises to choose from. The workers are really knowledgeable, at least the ones I've conversed with so far. Just don't expect to pay any less than eBay prices "plus" tax of course.. granted you're saving on shipping, but it is an actual store and they have rent, utilities and employees that they need to pay, so it's easily forgivable. Also, if you're into niche franchises, don't expect them to have newly acquired stuff in stock frequently. read more

Been a long time customer here since I was a kid, no longer will I be supporting this small business. Their two frumpy employees are very rude. Multiple times I've been here, I have dealt with the Self loathing Ken... We get it dude your life sucks but you don't have to take it out on customers. He's unprofessional and just plain rude... I know I'm not the first to complain about their lack of customer service. I'm also not sure why it's a secret on what Hot Toys they have in stock, you literally have to ask what they have because they don't put them out anymore. I literally went out of my way to support this local business and paying their higher prices, but it looks like I will take it to Sideshow, they don't employ Ken's, and you get points to accumulate towards purchases. So sad to see the decline of a once great place. Too bad Dan is gone. Don't see much of Ron anymore. Good job Ken, hopefully you find help with your ignorance and arrogance! read more
