I believed that lie until I was about ten. I guess that was to prevent me from buying all the awesome goodies this shop has to offer. Sorry, parents. I'm buying gifts for myself. They have everything! And I really mean everything. They have all my childhood candies next to a stand of plastic balloons. You know, those little tubes which you squeeze until this substance comes out which you blow into with the use of a little stick. There's a shelf with plates, spoons and forks and knives, cups and lunchboxes. And in the center, you'll find notebooks, stickers, pens, art materials, cellphone cases and the occasional sex toy. Speaking of toys, they do have toys for babies and children and adults who collect toys. Not into those things? They have bags, clothes and hats too. I remember being dragged here by my mom whenever I needed a costume for school. "You're only going to wear it once anyway. But it at Regina," she'd say. Don't get me wrong, their clothes don't break after one use. They have cool socks and hats. And sometimes if you're lucky, they have sell Christmas stockings. I can't remember everything they sell at this shop. So it would be great if you have a look for yourself. You won't be disappointed and you'll leave with lots of loot.

There are so many different toys in there. It's a small place, but man were they able to cram so much stuff in there. I mean, looking at all the toys in that place made my headspin. If you're a Pinoy and you find it difficult to find a collectible, I strongly recommend that you visit this place. I mean, crap words can't just begin to express the number of stuff in there that I like and the obscene and unhealthy amount of cash I want to splurge in that place and on the toys that I want to buy. They have almost all the characters from Marvel in all shapes and sizes. Some are collectors items that are really expensive while other Marvel toys are smaller and cheaper. I was so happy to see an Agent Coulson toy! Another toy I'm coming back for is their Big Bang Theory figurine/toy of all the characters. It's a set already so I don't have to look for and buy each piece separately. They have something also for the Game of Thrones fans. And basically if you're a fan of any TV series, movie, comic book or any character, they just might have something you'd want to collect.

Fancy puzzles and other Lego like products abound this place. That said, the biggest issue I find with this store is that a vast majority of their products are products that basically only rich people could afford. I don't blame them though, most if not all there stuff are imported from abroad so I'm not surprised.

The 1st floor is where you find a better concentration of major collector lines like official DC and Marvel figures, Funko Pops, Figmas, and Nendoroids, which some extra trinkets and baubles thrown in between. I find myself heading to Kramer: Toy Warden first, because it's where I've seen a lot of uncommon to rare toys and Comic con exclusives. The stores on 2nd floor are a bit more work to look through, but rewarding if you're looking for amusing finds and vintage toys. Here you'll find tons of random figures, more unpackaged ones than packaged, as well as miniature busts, smaller action figures, old toys and some bootlegs. It's a lot more for novelty than the first floor. The half-circle layout makes it easy to navigate the whole area. You can start from whichever end you want and whichever floor you want, and you'll always finish at the exit or at the start of a new end/section/floor. It makes hunting for toys even more of a joy!

It made such an impression on me that I found myself going there years later to feed my own nerdy needs. To categorize them just as a comic book store would be a big mistake. While bulk of their products do include comics from big wigs like DC, Marvel, Vertigo and more, they do have so much more than that. Graphic Novels are among the many things you'll find here. We'll technically speaking, it can fall into the comic book category as well. What I love about Filbar's is that they carry works by local artists. I was extremely impressed that they have Arnold Arre's collected works for Mythology Class and it's priced at less than P500. For someone who has pored over every page of Mythology Class in my college days, this is really a gem of a find. When famous Pinoy inker and local graphic novel legend Gerry Alanguilan came out with Elmer in 2011, this was my first place to look for a copy. Thankfully, I did get my hands on one. They also have a lot of comic-inspired shirts, posters and bags. Of course, they have collectible toys, too. One of the shops that I go to to look for rare Mr. Potato Heads, Marvel paraphernalia and all sorts of toys is Patrick's Toyshop. There are days when I go there and they don't have what I want or what I'm looking for. Because of that, I've learned to tell the staff to tell the owner what toys to get. See, they only stock up the shop with the toys that sell. And if you ask them for the toys you like, they'll get them for you. Outside the shop, you'll see toys for children. They have all sorts of dolls and still have Frozen items. Occasionally, you'll see the weird Angry Birds toys. If you're a collector, just rush inside and keep your eyes wide open. You'll spot something you like after a minute or so of looking.

I mean, as a kid, pet stores and toy stores were my haven. I would go there and you'd find me running around like I was a young kid mainlining LSD and Red Bull. This particular Toy Kingdom is great. It is humongous. It in fact reminds me of the Toy Kingdom back in SM Southmall, which is now a lot smaller by the way. What else can I say about this toy store other than that I'm glad it still exists. If you have kids, I implore you to take them here. Toys are important because kids learn to use their imagination to play with them. Interacting with a toy tends to promote creativity since a child is supposed to come up with their own unique scenarios or ways to play with something as static as a toy. Be a good parent and take them to Toy Kingdom.
