Great place to go and pick up items that you normally wouldn't find. This pace should be rated higher. Helpful staff, insane inventory.

I left Connecticut about 3 1/2 years ago and this store was much smaller and on the second story, well my friend took me back here on Saturday and I was completely blown away. This massive expansion gives this place a huge wall of Funko Pop's, areas for board games, magic the gathering, WWE, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, and pretty much every single kind of toy (or collectibles as I like to refer to them) you could be looking for. What impressed me the most about this store was how nearly it was organized and how easy it was to track down whatever you were looking for, and even though I didn't talk to any of the staff, I could see them helping people out and answering questions with smiles on their faces Simply put, the world needs more toy stores like this. Toy Vault is like Gamestop on steroids...seriously, this place is awesome! They sell just about anything to satisfy your nerdy needs, even collections of rare items that would be hard to find anywhere else. Where do I even start? They have video games, toys, a MASSIVE wall of Funko Pops, board games, trading cards, etc. etc. etc. I was very impressed with how big this store is, especially for how small the Crystal Mall is. During a trip to New London, my boyfriend wanted to take me to the Crystal Mall just to show me this store. Now I can see why! read more

Large selection of Pop Figures better organized than other stores like Gamestop and FYE making it quite easy to find the one you need. Did read other reviews and can't comment on electronic items but the staff was helpful in answering questions regarding Pop Figures and Table Top games. There are an assortment of old generation toys and figures that you can spend the day just remembering your childhood. All sales final. read more

Just like many stores that sell nostalgic stuff, only this place sells it at a higher price. They also buy old toys/games, and just like game stop they will try to low ball you to make money. I was very VERY upset on how rude the guy working the counter is. I've been there on 3 different occasions, and this guy was flat out RUDE!!!! He seems to always have an attitude with customers, give off a angry vibe, and make you feel uncomfortable. There is another store in the mall downstairs. They have better prices/games, and aren't mean to their customers. Don't go to toy vault when this guy is working. You'll know who he is if you go there. read more

I am a sucker for stores that sell toys from my childhood. I love walking down memory lane, and the Toy Vault (located at the Crystal Mall) was chock full of oldies but goodies. Old super hero toys, old Gremlins merchandise, tons of old video games (hello Game Genie, how I used to love you!) and lots and lots of quirky toys. My boyfriend was especially impressed with the He-Man and Mazinger Z collection. This place was really cool. Every wall, every table held something of interest. It was heaven for people that love to browse. I have no idea what some of this old (and obviously used) stuff is really worth. I doubt an old Superman toy is now $29, but to some collectors I bet it is. That's what's cool about these stores- if it's worth it to you to possess your favorite toy from 20 years ago then you can determine if the price is right. Personally, I wouldn't spend the money but my boyfriend agonized over whether to buy Mazinger or not and I thought that was cute. I thought this was the best find at the Crystal Mall. It pretty much has standard mall shops and this was just irresistible. Definitely check it out if you're in the area! read more

They are scalpers for all card related products. If you want to buy pokemon or yugioh cards expect almost a 40% mark up. They have no return policy even if you just bought the product. They get to order products from a manufacturer and then claim because it takes a while to come in that they get to put a top price on it. It's a shame because they have a wide variety of stuff. read more

I bought an original Xbox game here which they told me they tested and would work. The game was sealed up so I took their word for it. They told me many times that there would be absolutely no refunds under any circumstances so that made me think a little. When I got home I tested the game and it didn't work at all. I looked at the game and it was scratched beyond repair. This was extremely upsetting as I had just found an original Xbox. I am posting this review now to tell everyone not to buy any games there because you can't trust what they say, or tell them you would like to see the game disc. I am upset that this store is near me and ashamed that the people there would do that. I advise you all not to shop there. Thanks for reading. read more

I went here to try to sell a box of 80's toys. I know they have to make money off what they buy. I brought 17 toys (he-man, Voltron, transformers) still in their original packages. Some packages were a little damaged. They would not make any offers they kept asking what do I want. Every time I said a number I was told that's too much but yet they would not make a counter offer. I had to wait around for about a half an hour while the guy took pictures of everything and sent them to his boss and then wait for a response. I know the value of my toys and I was asking for about 50% of their value (like I said I know they need to make money as well) after I came down to about a third of their value I was told they weren't interested. As I was packing my things back in the box I said as a joke I bet you'd buy them for $200 and the guy said he would. They wanted to buy them for less then 10% of retail value. They must rob a lot of desperate people cause I would not sell them anything. I would not recommend this place. Two stars for the items in the store. read more

I don't know if i get them only on bad days but every time i go into the store the employees act like they don't care about anything and they are not even helpful,. I tried to trade in some yugioh cards and i was given the most attitude from an employee at a store in my life, for just trying to trade stuff in. if your not interested just tell me your not interested don't be a jerk about it. with service like this, its a wonder its still around. read more

My son bought a used Game Cube game for $30 from the Emerald Square Toy Vault and it didn't work. I called them an hour after purchasing it to tell them and they said they have a zero return policy. I told them that they sold us a broken game and they said that it worked in the store so we cannot return it! Got ripped off for $30 and now I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Awful. Just awful. Went there a few months ago, purchased Wheel of Fortune in the box for Genesis, didn't think much of it. When I got home, the box was empty. No game, no instruction manual, nothing. So I returned and asked for the game that I paid for only to be shouted at and given awful customer service in general. That's not the worst part. Just about an hour ago I went with a friend to see what they had in stock for boxed NES games. I was looking at a boxed copy of Milon's Secret Castle which was admittedly a fair price. I decided to open the box this time to see if the game was in there before I bought it, just to be safe. The manager screamed "don't open those games, they're old!" (OH REALLY, THE GAME FROM 1985 IS OLD?) Not to mention, it's been opened many times since 1985, so me just checking to see if the game was actually in there really shouldn't matter too much. Needless to say after being shouted at for that and my friend "leaning on the display case" (aka standing at it looking through games) I promptly left the store. They lost 2 costumers for good. Do not shop here. Stick to Techs and Tronics if you need your local CT retro game fix. They're much nicer. read more
