This massive expansion gives this place a huge wall of Funko Pop's, areas for board games, magic the gathering, WWE, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, and pretty much every single kind of toy (or collectibles as I like to refer to them) you could be looking for. What impressed me the most about this store was how nearly it was organized and how easy it was to track down whatever you were looking for, and even though I didn't talk to any of the staff, I could see them helping people out and answering questions with smiles on their faces Simply put, the world needs more toy stores like this. The selection is insane, the staff is great, and this is the type of store you can kill an hour in without even realizing. Check it out.

The owner was very upset someone would want to return something. He kept saying they did not do that (which was confusing because I had already exchanged a book once, a Superman collection) and that only Amazon did that and added that it was "the stupidest thing I have heard". I told him as politely as possible to not call me stupid, and will go back tomorrow to either get my money back. Either way, it's a good store for game playing, but not comics. No one ever knows about the comics I ask for. It's terrible owner is impolite and I wonder if it was because I am latin american?

Arisu Anime is a fun store at Olde Mystic Village in Mystic, CT. The Totoro figurine outside…read moreimmediately caught my attention and when I walked in, there were life sized figurines of Naruto, Monkey D. Luffy, and Goku. There is a collection of anime, manga, origami kits, cloths, blind boxes, houseware, kitchenware, art and posters, figures, DIY kits, Funko pops, gatcha machines, and a plethora of other Japanese treasures. On the right of the store next to the outside deck with tables, there is a Japanese food market with authentic imported pre-packed Japanese foods like instant ramen, different kinds of Japanese noodles, Japanese grocery items, snacks and chips, sweets and candy and ice cream, Japanese drinks and anime theme drinks. By the registers, there are free arcade games to play. I took my time walking through the store and looking at everything. It could be overwhelming at first. I really liked looking at the Sanrio, The Studio Ghibli Collection, and Pokemon items. I learned after that Arisu means "Alice" in Japanese and it's a tribute to their first store "Alice in the Village" which is also located in Olde Mystic Village. If you're in Olde Mystic Village, definitely stop by and take a look at Arisu Anime and Alice in the Village.

I did notice that some stuff, like the Hello Kitty ramen I usually get at Target, was more expensive here, but honestly, the variety, the atmosphere, and how nice the staff is make it worth stopping by. Wow! There is *so* much information here! With free entry,…read moreyou can't go wrong. There is plenty of parking here for cars, RV's and busses. Several out door displays are in this area and in front of the building. The gentleman at the visitor information desk just inside the door recommended seeing the sub first, then return to visit the museum. Walk down the hallway, and out to the water, cross a gang plank and into a small structure on the top of the sub where a set of stairs leads down. A Navy guard is on duty here if you have questions. Be aware the stairs throughout are steep, and some quite narrow. Sub doorways are 'ports' you have to bend down and step over at the same time to get though. Or, grab the handle above the doorway and swing yourself through feet first. Some of the walkways through the sub are very narrow as well, and a tall person may have to 'duck' their head during their visit. This is a self guided tour. Both plastic and paper signage gives information along the way. I can not imagine living on a sub. Tiny bathrooms, tiny bunks, sleeping quarters right by work areas. It's quite an experience to see how comparatively palacial the officer quarters look once you see how the others live. The tour follows a loop through the sub and you exit where you enter. Return to the museum and there is plenty of information on the Nautilus as well as submarines in general. The museum has a 2nd floor in the room closest to the sub, with plenty of information and a viewing window. A movie plays in this room as well, with seats, in case you need a rest, or want to view the film. The gift shop, located by the museum entrance/exit has lots of nice items for purchase. Plush toys, puzzles, post cards, glassware, home decor, shirts, ornaments, jewelry, wind chimes and more. Prices are reasonable. I picked up a soy candle, compact mirror and post card. It's my go to gift place! But maybe best of all is the owner Keisha Moon. She is such a joyful person and greets everyone like an old friend, and it has almost a general store vibe where everybody in New London stops by when they are downtown. The first time we let my son play and look around and eventually I got him out of the store after buying him a set of magnet toys which he seems to really love. He loved playing with the train table they had because he's big on trains and sadly we don't have room for a train table. We stopped back before grabbing the ferry home because we were going to a birthday party when we got home and needed to get a gift for the party recipient. We let our son pick the toy and I found a cute count sesame street mini stuffed animal to add to it. They were helpful with packaging the gift nicely as well. At first I thought the owner of the store was a little mean because my son was rolling the toy cars around and I got the gist that he didn't want him to do that but he seemed to soften up after we spent some time in the store and on our second visit, he was a lot more friendly. So I give this store 5 stars and say if you are visiting Mystic you should stop here.

First of all, their Jellycats are behind glass, and they didn't have a big selection. Part of shopping for Jellycats is getting to touch them. I realize this may result in mishandling of the product, but in all of our Jellycat hunts, I've never seen any store display them like this. Additionally, they only had Bartholomew and a couple of other items. Very limited selection. While we were browsing, my daughter found a doll baby stroller that she rolled over to me excitedly, and immediately the saleswoman chided her. I was caught off guard, and admittedly embarrassed because I couldn't believe my kid was getting "in trouble" at a toy store -- especially when she didn't do anything egregious. My daughter didn't run into anything, knock anything over. But I'm also not one to start trouble, so I sternly told my child to put the stroller back where she found it. Mind you, it was out on the floor. She didn't unfold it, take it out of a container. She just took the one that one the floor out for a spin, and was immediately barked at by the saleswoman. It's a toy store, for crying out loud. If you're not equipped to handle children, you're in the wrong business.
