We just picked up our van from Toyota of Jackson after they kept it for almost a week for what was supposed to be a one‑day check on a minor door issue. No one contacted us with any updates. When we arrived, the manager said our service advisor had been out for days and claimed the van was fixed. I checked it on the spot -- it was NOT fixed. This is a brand‑new van we bought from them a few months ago, and this experience has completely damaged my trust in their service department. This dealership just lied to me... I put my deposit down a year ago for a GR Corolla at Toyota of Jackson and they just received a unit. They promised me MSRP a year ago but now they want 6k over. Once I showed them text receipts of them promising MSRP, the sales guy said they are not willing to sell it to me anymore. Furthermore, they are saying I was no longer first in line and that I'm fourth and started lying to me about the queue (one sales guy said 3rd in line is checking it out while the manager said the 2nd person... Why did they offer me the car in the first place??). Now they won't pick up my phone calls and have become unresponsive. All I want is the car that I was confirmed for multiple times at the price that was given. read more

I've been going here for years. I've bought at least six 4Runners here. They recently had an ownership change and when I took my 2013 in with 88,000 miles on it to change the the oil and rotate the tires, the service guy called me and told me I needed $1,300 of repairs. Lots of changing in inside air filters and brake pads and other stuff. I went with it and they told me it would be ready at 11am. Nobody called me so at 2pm I called them and the service guy had gone to lunch. It turned into an all day thing so at 3 pm I went up there and asked for my car which to finally brought to me 30 mins later. The kicker was when I goy home something fell out of the bottom of my car, some kind of plate that wasn't screwed on properly. That made me think the whole repair job was bogus. I had to take another afternoon off and take it up there to get that fixed. Beware of the service department. read more

Stay away from this dealership. I buy Toyota because of the quality of the product. I wish this dealership was a quality dealership, they are not. They utilize bait and switch techniques to drive sales. I found a 2022 Highlander online at Toyota of Jackson. It was exactly what I wanted so I ordered the new 2022 Highlander on 12/26/2022 from their salesman, Corwin Lawson and Manager Robert Mosley. The new 2023 Highlander was out but they had changed it to a 4-cylinder, turbo model. I love the Toyota 3.5 6-cylinder engine. I did not want the 4-cylinder engine. They told me that I had to wait as the one that I purchased was not built yet, it was pending delivery. They said it was in Texas getting wheels, etc. put on, but it would be at their dealership in a couple weeks. I signed a purchase contract, sent them a deposit and told all my friends and family about my new purchase. I was excited. I shouldn't have been. I was lied to. They called me on 1/5/2023 to tell me that the car came in and it was a 2023 with the 4-cylinder engine in it. The car that I ordered had a VIN number. I had bought a specific car assigned to the purchase, with a 6-cylinder engine. VIN number 5TDGZRAH7NS141925. Stay away from this dealership. They wasted my time. Very disappointing. I hate liars, between the media, government, and now Toyota. I want honesty. I am sure that you do too. It doesn't exist here. read more

I bought a brand new Toyota Corolla not too long ago, and while I love my car, I had two not so good experiences there. First, when I got there, we could not get the sales person that we had originally planned on meeting, so we got a random new person. He was very sweet and I appreciate that, but once we started discussing my car payments, he guaranteed that my payments would be what I offered to pay. However, once we got into the place to actually set up the payments, the man there basically laughed in my face and said that there was no way that I would be able to make those payments that low and he tried to get me to pay almost over $100 more than I offered (and I offered a good amount.) I only agreed because he was getting on my nerves and I wanted to leave. The second horrible experience was with the service department. Not even three weeks later, I hit a tiny pothole and it blew out my tire. I called a day ahead and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. I get there on time and I tell them that I have an appointment and they just brushed me off and told me to go to the waiting room and they would come back with a price and he made it very clear that their tires do not have a warranty. I figured that since I had made an appointment, that I would not be there long because I was only replacing one tire, and I also thought that it would not be too expensive either. Well four hours and $221 later, they finally get done with my car. I am very frustrated and I think that they overcharged me for that one tire, especially since he told me that that priced tire was my only option. read more

Service line gets long quick on the weekends so arrive early to line up! Service staff workers not the friendliest. When asking them about how long it will take their response as long as it takes. Really?!?! So ushered to a small freezing cold waiting area where there is a board that displays what/where your car is in the process of getting serviced. Great concept and idea since the workers are no help with helping give you insight on anything. They were great with looking my information up as I am from another state to ensure that they had the correct information in the system for charging purposes. All of this was verified prior to my visit to ensure paying went smoothly. The representative that helped me with this was extremely friendly, helpful, and thorough. read more

The service at this location is Horrible!!! They had me waiting at the arrival lane for more than 20 minutes because one of their employees in charge of receiving cars wouldn't do his job, therefore the other two employees refused to pick up his slack. I sat there for 15 minutes until another car pulled up behind me and they had him waiting for about 5 minutes before the other you employees came to serve him, totally ignoring me in front of the line. The second employees finally decided to come and check me in and then I had to wait for about 3 hours for my oil to be changed. This has been the worst customer service I have ever received. The most upsetting about this situation is that you could hear the other employees complaining and saying that management won't said anything to him so he felt no need to change his ways. Bought my 2021 Toyota Highlander at this dealership last fall. I called service department when my first oil change was due. I was told to come down that day and they could get me in. I told the gentleman I lived two hours away and I would be down around 11:00. He said that was fine. When I got there I was told that they could not get to me because it was basically first come first serve. Nothing was mentioned about this in the original phone call. I was highly upset because I had driven Two hours. I eventually got there one morning about 7:00 am and did get the oil change. At the same time I had inquired about a data module update that I had gotten a notice about. I was told that that was something that required an appointment, even though I had been told they do Not do appointments. when I called to set up that appointment I was told that I would need to leave my car there all day even if I made an appointment because they would not stop working on one car to make my appointment time. They stated that it could take up to four hours to get to me. What is the use of making an appointment!!! This update stated that it would take approximately 45 minutes. Still get emails reminding about service and saying to call for appointment even though they do not do appointments. Worst service department I have ever dealt with in almost fifty years. I do not live in California. Live in Mississippi. read more

They put cars online for sale but people who handle online sale don't exist. I put inquiry offer to buy one of the car three weeks ago. Three days later I receive an email that someone will get back to me shortly then I waited another three days; No call; then, I called the dealer and try to get hold of the person who handles online sale. I told him that I am interested to buy the car he was in the car he said he will call be back soon I get back to office. It's been another 10 days passed and I didn't get any call then I called again and left message to have someone call me. Again 2 days have passed and no one called me. I don't know how they are in business when they incompetent team working for this dealership who cannot even manage online department. Service reps have been above average but the service itself has been underwhelming. Brought my Prius in after 3 months of it sounding like a B-17 on the highway. After an hour I was told the tech ran diagnostics and he just couldn't replicate the problem. I then took it to Goodyear and after a quick test drive the noise was correctly diagnosed as a failing wheel bearing . Clearly the Toyota tech didn't bother driving it and relied on the ODB. Pretty disappointed as this seems like a fundamental of being a mechanic. Anyway, I won't be returning to the dealership for my Toyotas in future and would say if you're outside of your warranty, don't waste the extra money... read more

I have never been so disappointed in a Dealership ever. I feel their qualities are giving misinformed information and running a shady business. I'm not sure why we gave them, Another chance after being lied to on our lease..not misinformed.. straight up lied to.. our salesman that is no longer there chose to leave out the most important information we should have known about our lease.. moving forward.. our current salesman Thomas was the most helpful.. but current issues is the finance or business manager charged us for extended warranty that we denied.. and would have not seen if he would have not called saying he made a mistake on paperwork and we owe another 4 grand.. now he does this everyday, for many years was there 3 years ago when we bought our last vehicle.. so you think he would know his stuff.. I just find this shady and they had no scruples in giving misinforming information. I would love to hear from the owner of the dealership . I plan to reach out and file complaints with the appropriate people and also Toyota. I wonder if this a common procedure on misleading older people.. hmmm read more

We were waiting on the Dealership, Tamera to send us a credit card authorization email from 10:30 am until 12:45 pm. We notified them again at 12:07 that we still do not have the credit card authorization form just the wire transfer information and at 12:45 pm they notified us that they sold the vehicle. I have a feeling, that they were playing us to get the physical person looking at the vehicle to purchase now. We had been calling them since Sunday. They kept responding, "will call you in a moment". We had to get a hold of them on Monday throughout the day. Not very helpful or trustworthy. read more

I walked into the dealership one evening with a 4Runner in mind. Josh Gilder greeted me in the lot, and was very kind, helpful, and informative. He made everything possible for me to be able to walk out that day driving a new vehicle. I was able to sit-in, test drive, and really feel out exactly which model and colors I was interested in. I am a loyal Toyota customer based on the Toyota care packages that they offer and attentive that I have received at other Toyota locations. Herrin-gear Toyota in Jackson Mississippi is by far the worst experience I've ever had at any Toyota location.I bought an additional maintenance package in Irving, tx to cover additional oil changes. This package followed me even when I moved to Maryland and I got my car maintained in Gaithersburg Maryland at Fitzgerald Toyota.both my prior experiences with very consistent providing impeccable service. They would vacuum out the inside of my car and wash it after they change my oil and rotate my tires. On Monday 7/25/16, I visited Herrin-Gear in Jackson, MS. I paid $135 for an oil change. I ask if I could purchase an additional Toyota care package to cover my all changes as I did before in Irving Texas and I was told that if I purchase it today it wouldn't take affect. What a liar. This location failed on multiple levels. 1. They should've checked to see if I agree to pay for a $135 oil change if my maintenance package had expired. 2. They didn't wash nor vacuum my car 3. I left a message for the finance manager to purchase a maintenance package and didn't receive a return call. I would try going to Toyota in Brandon before coming to this location. My father purchased a brand new Toyota Highlander in May and on June 1 he was washing it and noticed there was damage to the vehicle he called me and we went to the dealership. We met with the general sales manager, Eric Anderson. I was shocked at what happened on the lot. He yelled at my father whom by the way is 71 years old and he yelled at me. We were just trying to explain what was going on and he told us to leave the lot and he was going to call the police on us. To add insult to injury one of the white salesmen started coming towards me like he was about to attack me. Yes we are black and the other parties involved were white. Recently bought a used Tahoe from Cade Usry, I found the vehicle on their website and sent a email in about it. Within less than a minute he replied back to me and even went so far as to text me additional pictures of the interior so I could decide if I wanted to come see it in person. When I arrived at the dealership he had it cleaned and pulled down front ready for to take on a test drive, they allowed me to take it to show my wife and we're not pushy at all. I can't imagine ever buying a vehicle from anywhere else moving forward. read more

*Update* On top of everything below I found out at the gas station and later at another body shop that they broke the vent pipe to my Tundra from the gas tank it caused gas to pour out from underneath my truck when filling up at the gas station. The vent pipe only comes attached to a new gas tank so now I have to replace my whole gas tank. I was there along with the Jackson Police Department because while they had my truck someone stole the tonneau cover off of it, even though the service manager, Tony, does not want to admit it ever being on there. I purchased the truck new from Herrin-Gear and had them put the cover on the truck before I even picked it up so it had one. He of course stated to my wife "How do I know you didn't take it off before sending your truck up here.", basically calling her a liar and a thief, great customer service. And happily pointed to his sign several times that states "Not responsible for items left in the vehicle." I think your company is taking that way too far in including items that are on and attached to the vehicle. Now that is my complaint Tony needs better customer service and your company should admit responsibility when things come up missing under their care. My response is simple enough, had Tony been polite, understanding, and/or apologetic I would of simply been upset paid my bill and probably never come to you again. If he had gone a step further and deducted the cost of the cover from our bill I would of not only continued buying my cars here and servicing them here but I would recommend you. But he decided to go the direction of accusing my wife of trying to pull one over on him which is ridiculous. So following the police officers advice we went to the civil court to file a suit, which in my eyes would normally be ridiculous over such a little amount but the fact of the matter is it is more about over how we were treated as customers who had been robbed. And Mr. Herrin if you are reading this I would like you to know that the only other person in the whole place where you file civil law suits stopped us because she over heard us talking about Herrin-Gear Toyota's Service and said she was there filing a suit against you also. The only other person, I think you should re look at your company and how you handle things because that can not be a coincidence. Also if you read this I would of preferred not to file suite in fact I called you before hand to leave a message because I know you can't always control how your employees handle things. But I don't plan on letting this go without so much of an apology for how we were treated either. read more

My salesman was Dustin Inman. He sold my sister a vehicle the week before. Upon meeting him, he seemed very arrogant. I made it known that I had looked at the car online and liked it; I just wanted to look at the figures and see what I could afford. He immediately wanted me to get into the car. Once I got in the car, I noticed the sunroof. The car I told him I wanted did not have a sunroof. When I made it known that I did not care for the sunroof, his response was "Well, it adds value when you want to resell it and you can always open it up and look out." Ironically, when my sister went to buy her vehicle the week before, she advised that she did not want a sunroof. His response to her dislike of the sunroof was, "They're impractical. You don't need it." When we were looking at the numbers, he kept repeating, "These are just stupid numbers. You will never get a deal like this. You shouldn't even be allowed to get this car." He was very pushy, he talked over me and didn't seem concerned that I was trying to figure my finances out. He just wanted me to sign the papers so he could go home and celebrate July 4th since they "finally had a day off." If he said, "I can't believe we get a day off" once, he said it a thousand times. While my sister was buying her car, she was sitting outside the finance office waiting to talk to Gerald. While waiting, she could hear Dustin on his cell phone bragging to someone, "I just sold 6 cars; and I'm about to sell a seventh." He just seemed very unprofessional. His arrogance was not appealing, either. I liked the car; it basically sold itself to me. All I needed from him was the price. Had it not been for Leo (my original contact person), I would not have bought this car. I would give 5 stars for Leo and 0 for Dustin. read more
