Traffic is hell on Merivale but its your typical Toys R Us. The store can be very untidy at times.

If you have kids, then you know that finding a great kids clothing store is SO important. The store…read moremust be easily accessible (hey, strollers are hell to steer), offer clothes that make your kid look cool (got to impress the other parents), and it must be cheap, cheap, cheap! I found such a place at Billings Bridge Mall - Growing Kids. The clothes are really hip (a mini Sens jersey anyone???) and they have these pretty princess dresses for your little princess!!! The prices are very cool and they have sales all the time. The day I went in, everything was 25% off! It is around the corner from the LCBO and near the exit by Independent Grocery.

Went to Growing Kids today for the first time and was very pleasantly impressed. I wanted to get my…read moredaughter a nice dressy Easter dress as we are going to a swanky restaurant hotel on Easter day for brunch. We found two dresses at the store that we both fell in love with and a bonus was that they had all the accessories to go with her outfit. Nice white nylons and the sales assistant, Evelyn, helped my daughter try on a variety of different shoes. The prices were very reasonable and there was no hard sell. Evelyn, really took the time to connect with my daughter and find out what we both were looking for. She took a lot of care wrapping the special dresses in clothes bags and making sure that my daughter felt very special too. We had a super girls time in this store and will definitely consider coming back when we are looking for dressy clothes on another occasion. Saw lots of nice duds for the boys here too. Thanks Evelyn you are one of the stars in Ottawa retail.

This little shop has some really cool stuff for kids. Each of my kids picked out a special souvenir…read morethat they were excited about (finger puppets, a carved wooden trinket, smooth etched stone). They also had neat handmade cloth bags filled with activity books, as well as costumes, cute knitwear, etc. Stuff seemed a bit expensive, but there were some unique finds that I could see justifying the higher prices. Why the two stars? Well, the shopkeeper barely acknowledged our presence the whole time we were there. She went out of her way to ignore us, and did not greet us or smile. After paying for our items, she didn't even thank us. Keep moving on if you wish for any sort of polite interaction or civility.

Let me just say that my daughter LOVED this store. Tickled Pink sells the kind of kids clothes that…read morechildren (especially little girls) only dream about. Perhaps it was the Halloween season, but the primary offering seems to be princess dresses and the appropriate accessories - tiaras, wands, and - for crap's sake - feather boas! For younger kids, the store also offers one-piece winter outfits that resemble bee and other animal costumes. You can also find more traditional/normal kids clothing items (t-shirts, gloves, hats) but overall Tickled Pink tends to cater to childhood fantasy outfits. The prices are pricey - the one-piece outfits go for around $80 and the princess gowns go for around $60 a piece. But, for the smile that will appear on your daughter's face, it is worth it.

Way too overpriced, my friend bought seven small item's and it added up to a total of $32.69 and…read morethey taxed them twice. Rude manager. People come here to shop if they don't receive a high salary, but the pricing is the same as any other store, they price it like everything is new. Everything is donated it's not like they buy it from a company and price it for more, they get everything for free. If they price everything lower it's not like they're losing money because they did not buy any of the thing's they sell. The receipt and a few of the items my friend bought attached. These small things should not even be this much. The tax at the bottom, they taxed my friend two times, 8% and 5% which still adds to 13%, so why not just write the 13% and tax once.

I was shopping at the Value Village location on Merivale in Ottawa on July 8, 2025. I filled 2 bags…read moreof baby/toddler clothes for $12.99 each that were just put out from the wire bins. All clothes were size newborn to size 3, and did not include outerwear or dresses, that I was told were excluded. At the cash, an employee dumped the bags and went through all the pieces 1 by 1. She removed approximately 10 items for no good reason. Saying they should have been priced individually. 1 item was a pair of Sears pink corduroy overalls in an infant size. Another item was a Polo Ralph Lauren shirt size 2. All this happened after waiting in a lineup of over 30 people and a shortage of staff. I should have left it all. I'm reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. Staff are just making up random reasons why baby clothes cannot be in the bag. I don't plan to shop here again.
