I cannot recommend this pediatric clinic to anyone, and I feel I must share my experience for the sake of other children. Here's what happened: My child had a cough, so we went to the clinic. After a brief check, they said everything was fine but still brought out a machine for my child to inhale some medication, saying it would help her breathe better. I didn't know any better at the time and trusted their recommendation, so my child received the treatment at the clinic. I have always trusted healthcare professionals, so that same day I went to the pharmacy to pick up the prescribed medication. However, the pharmacist told me no prescription had been submitted. That's when I realized that the person we saw was a nurse practitioner (NP), not a doctor, and they were not authorized to prescribe certain medications. Later, after consulting another doctor, I was told that my child does not have asthma -- yet the clinic had given her asthma treatment anyway! It felt like they put my child through unnecessary treatment just to make money, harming an innocent child in the process. On top of that, I later received a bill from the clinic with a long list of charges for all the unnecessary procedures. This clinic relies on nurse practitioners to see patients, but they are careless and irresponsible. Please, everyone -- be cautious with this clinic. Clean office. Helpful staff and knowledgeable nurses and doctors. Sick appointments you can be seen on the same day. My youngest has been going here since they were born. The doctors always listen carefully and with intent and ask appropriate questions. I would recommend for anyone's pediatrician. read more

I have 2 kids that go to the Fairfax office. The front office staff is unhelpful, rude, and... lies! More on that later! My main issue with this ped group is there is no onsite lab at any of their locations -- which is totally necessary with a newborn. I suggest if you have a newborn to just Google: "Nova ped with onsite lab services" which is what I just did. There is literally another (more popular) ped group in the neighborhood on Braddock in Fairfax -- WITH AN ONSITE LAB. Hello, we are switching!!! My newborn baby had jaundice so we were at the ped office: Friday, Saturday, Monday, before it cleared up (or cleared out). My baby needed labs for the jaundice so the PA, wrote the order for a stat lab at a hospital lab. This was a Friday. We asked the discharge desk if we could go to a normal lab and not navigate the madness of a hospital. Especially since we just discharged from the madness of a hospital, having a new baby! We were told by the discharge desk at Fairfax, "Labcorps send their labs to North Carolina" and we wouldn't get the numbers in time. Total LIE! I know it's a lie because after being lied to and forced to use the hospital lab Fri and Sat, we asked a different front desk person at the Alexandria office location about going to Labcorp. (We were sent to Alexandria on Sat bec it was only location with Sat hours.) She was so helpful. And guess what... we went to Labcorp Annandale at opening time on Monday and the results were ready in time for the Monday doctor appointment. Liars! I can also tell another long story about how lazy the billing dept is... but please just take my suggestion to only go to doctors' offices with onsite labs! Leaving an updated review. This office is horrible . Dr. Kapoor is the only good thing about this office . They have a nurse practitioner that will sometimes see patients when the doctors can't . I brought my 7 year old In because she was having random unexplained vomiting . I was honestly horrified and in shock at what the nurse practitioner suggested... she mentioned that my daughter was close to being considered overweight and suggested that maybe she was throwing up on purpose to lose weight ?! What is wrong with this woman ? My daughter doesn't even understand the concept of weight or anything in regards to eating disorders . Unbelievable. The front desk staff is extremely rude and condescending which other reviews have mentioned . When your kids are sick they treat you as if they are disgusted when they are a doctors office . One of their assistants actually asked me if I was my sons sister . When I said no, I am his mother, she laughed and went on to say again I look like I'm his sister . I hope one of the owners or managers takes the time at some point to read these reviews and implement change . read more

Their booking system is horrible. We just relocated from another state so need to search for a new pediatric office. The booking assistant asked me several questions like we need your medical records, vaccine records, etc; then I am trying to work out how to submit the forms to them. Then she told me that day is booked, and any days later I have to call on that day to book... if it is their booking design, actually they should mention it at first instead of waste the time about forms, insurance, etc. read more

Good evening Ladies, My experience with TPG Akexandria was great (score 4/5 stars) for the newborn appt. Front Desk checked me in, filled out insur paperwork, verbalized the room to go into/dress down/change baby's diaper. Pediatrician discussed differ topics: wet diapers, hiccups, weight, breastfeeding, day/night sleep, etc... My experience with TPG Fairfax was a bad (score 0/1). First the Pedi had an emergency, the front desk left us a voicemail msg at 700 am (1.5 hours before the appt). The Ladies are nice, some bilingual, nurse aid needs to verbalize and delegate instructions. Nurse Practioner asked us multiple questions. Then we sched our next appt in the next 2 days. Then I cancelled the appt because I was calling HR and UHC to correct/confirm medical insurance. Three differ people contacted me abt scheduling another appt. I repeatedly told staff and pedi's asst I am fixing the insur, then will sched an appt. I will not be returning to this TPG location. Everytime they call I delete their messages. Im ready to look for another Pedi practice. read more

I'm not sure why the review are so low here. I've had nothing but great experiences with every staff member from the front desk to the doctors and the nurses in between. My sons primary care is Dr.kapoor but we honestly have seen every doctor at this Fairfax location and we've loved them all. My son doesn't have any serious conditions and is pretty healthy so we don't mind seeing whichever doctor has an open appointment first. I guess the only benefit for the negative reviews on here is I never have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen...thanks! read more

They told me today when I called for my sick stepchild that unless I can be there by 11:15 (I can't) I'm out of luck because they're closed for the day. What?! What pediatrician refuses to see a sick child on a Wednesday afternoon?!?! No triage or alternative (other than urgent care) was given. I've never been thrilled with this practice - I've been the one to take my STEP child there for years, and each time they insist on calling me MOM. I'm not her mom. I tell you every time, I'm not her mom. You may want to work on knowing your patients. My own children see a different pediatric practice that knows who they are and know who I am. The wait times are atrocious. We arrived a month and a half ago for a follow up vaccination and waited close to an hour. For a shot. Seriously. If you're looking for a pediatrician in Northern Virginia, keep looking. This isn't the one. read more

Totally disappointed with them period. My kids have been going to this establishment since birth. My 4 year old daughter has a cough, no fever nothing else. She suffers since a baby from respiratory infections back to back since she was born as well as ear infections. She was schedule for a flu shot tomorrow and I ask if they can check her out while there because of the cough, they cancel her appointment and push her back another week due to her cough. Mind you my daughter was tested for covid-19 a month ago and negative. They are placing my daughter at risk for what? SMH just disgusted with them period. IF SOMETHING HASPPENS TO MY DAUGHTER THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN WARNED FULLY OF A LAWSUIT. I've been going here for a little over a year and have decided I'll probably look for a new pediatrician mainly because of their move to a central call center for scheduling appointments and the inability to schedule an appointment in advance. It's the stupidest policy for people who have jobs and explaining it to your employer is a lesson in how stupid it is. Just imagine, "I want to take my daughter to the doctor in the morning, but her doctor's office only allows same day appointments so I don't know what time I'll be in." The office staff is not friendly and very cold. The nurse gave my child her immunizations in a rough manner and seemed very uninterested to be doing her job or caring for my child. They can always see me when my kids are sick the same day and the doctors talk to you and explain everything and very kid friendly. The front desk is friendly and it's always great to speak to a nurse when I have a question about fever or anything. We have been very happy with them. I definetly recommend them. read more

I have been taking my kids here for the past 9 Years!!!! Not one day went by where my kids were not treated right. I love the staff, my kids miss the ones that have been moved on. If I can give minus, I will give minus 5 stars. We have been taking 2 kids last 2 and 1/2 years since we moved here. They have been fine until last year. After office hour I called the office and was transferred to a phone center? and gave all info to schedule. I was told next day morning doctor's office would contact me. They never contact me so I took my son to different doctor. My daughter has peanuts and lychee allergies and needs to bring epiphanies to school. I took her to the office was told at the pharmacy it should be ready. They never send the prescription so I called them twice was told would be sent. It never happen so I called back and was told doctor was busy. I returned to home the day to wait a few days. They never send the prescription so I called them back again was told it would be ready. Never happened. There were 5 phone calls and they took forever to send the prescription. I finally received to take to school and the paperwork which doctor filled in was wrong. School denied to revive the epiphanies and I had to contact to office again the next day brought to school. My daughter has mild allergies so was ok but if she was really serious condition then I was so scared not to get the medication. Then today, my daughter felt stomach pain and vomit. I called office and they put me on hold then hung up on me. I just drove down to office with my sick daughter. They told me there was no open. I asked but was told "Why don't you take her home and she can be relaxed? You should have called us." I explained I called and somebody hang up on me. The lady said then you should call us back. Everyone knows the auto record phone message took forever and my kid is really sick and the doctor office is just 8 mins away. What will you do? Just the lady talked to me was super rude and today I decided to stop using them. For our kids we want to use doctor and the office worker whom we can depend on and trust. I hate to downgrade my review because it really is a shame. So as my previous review stated I HAD no issues with the office. Unfortunately, over the years they have gone downhill. I still have no issues with the doctors and they are still great. The office policies for one is not "clear". For example the "walk-in clinic" hours they supposedly have now. I surely walked in during the said hours with my son for a rash, which is on the approved list of issues we can be seen for, only to be turned away because they did not have time. So I asked (while staring at the flyer they have posted in the waiting room), do you not have a walk-in clinic anymore? To which they answered no we do but just don't have anything available. Hmm... so if you're scheduling these it's not really a walk-in clinic is it? The nurses that have been there for a while just genuinely don't seem as happy there anymore. Unfortunately, this comes through with their encounters with patients. Speaking of nurses... there is one in particular, who is the advice nurse, and I seriously dread calling the office because I know I can ONLY speak to her to get a same-day appointment (which is another policy pet peeve of mine!). Her demeanor is awful. She has an attitude that comes through when she speaks, she cuts you off when you're trying to explain the issue we need to come in for (as if to say... yea yea I got it). I'm sorry but if you're going to be a nurse (ESPECIALLY in peds) you need to have bedside manners. Not just with dealing with patients first hand... but other encounters (on the phone, email, etc.). I could seriously go on and on and list the other issues that have occurred.I think the docs are what have kept me coming but it will soon be time to seek other options. read more

We have been very pleased with the Pediatric Group. We've been with them for a year. They work us in when we have an urgent need and seem to really care about our children. They have not been critical of parenting decisions (ex: alternative vaccine schedule), but seemed happy to help us come up with the best plan of action for our family! We've been pleased with all the doctors there, but we primarily see Dr. Kapoor. She engages my children but is obviously very focused on providing the best care possible. The nurses have been nice also. It's a more laid back place, but everything looks to be clean and they have maintained accurate records. I'm thankful to have found them and hope they continue to be a good fit for our family. read more

I bring my two girls to this place. It has gone down hill for some time. Everything from the service to the lack of competence from accounting. They billed me erroneously and I had to fight tooth and nail to get it reverse. Got it corrected. The second time it happened. I just kind of gave up. My girls are now going somewhere else in Fairfax off of Democracy Ln. Poor customer service, incompetence from their staff push me to the edge. If you continue going, just be warned. Check the bills you get and the bills that your insurance company provides you. read more

I do not know how anybody can write a good review about this practice. I've been taking my kids here for the last 2 years and unfortunately their good service has completely disappeared!!! In the last 6 months they have change their receptionist more than 5 times. Every time we go they someone new and of course not familiar with anything. I've been charged for missed appointments I didn't even know I had and their Head Nurse - Trish - is very rude and not really willing to help. Dr. Kappor gave my daughter a medication that later Dr. Palumbo said it was the worst thing to give to a baby! I'm never going back!!! They tried to force me to have my kids take services THEY DON'T NEED just to charge my insurance company. It's a shame that practices like this one exist! Something else is that they give you an appointment lets say for 10:30 but you have to be there 30 mins earlier. Even you get there on time sometimes you have to wait for 45 mins or more. We have been going to the Pediatric Group for seven years and have always been pleased with their care. Just recently, Dr. Kapoor did a wonderful job diagnosing my daughter when her symptoms were far from typical. I would like to thank this office for everything they provide for my kids. The best quality care. What other place will call you back to check up on your child? No other practice will see you after their 8am-5pm hours. Dr. Kapoor waited for me until 5:30 once, to see my sick baby. Dr. Kapoor and Dr. Palumbo go above and beyond to provide the best care. We went to the practice at Patriot Center and they were very unprofessional. At the time, we were short on cash and knew we could not afford a sick visit due to the way our insurance was structured. So, when it was time for our child's wellness visit, we called several times to make sure our visit was our child's scheduled 2 year old wellness and nothing else. Since it was our first visit, we informed the doctor that our child used to take iron because levels were low but was taken off the iron since his 18 mos. visit because levels were fine. Well, the doctor asked our permission to test and ensure that his levels are still fine. Because I let the doctor check for my child's iron level, they immediately billed it as a sick visit. We went back and argued the bill with them stating what we have stated here. I said to the nurse,"I gave the doctor my child's medical history and it was the doctor who initiated the testing, not me." When she asked the doctor, the doctor said that I had requested it. The next thing was that I told them that I felt that what they were doing here was entrapment and the nurse immediately laughed at me. My husband was outraged and told her that that was very unprofessional. The thing is, my father is a physician and I know how insurance companies are billed properly. Well, the end of the story is that the office manager was called and he said to my husband that they would forget the bill just as long as we promised never to return.
