I was originally headed to a different Mexican spot when a prospect pointed me toward TPK's Tacos--and I'm glad I listened. Zero regrets. Even after circling downtown Visalia for a solid 10 minutes trying to find parking (absolute chaos), this place delivered. Right when you walk in, you notice the ordering kiosk--which, honestly, is necessary given how busy they are. That alone told me I made the right call. While waiting, I saw a cook putting together a big order of quesabirrias, and that sealed it--I added one to my usual single-tortilla carne asada tacos. Let me be clear: they do NOT skimp on the meat. Easily a 10/10 in that department. The flavor is on point, the salsa hits, and portions are legit. If anything, I over-ordered because the tacos are more filling than they look. This place is operating at a level where they either need a bigger location or to start franchising--seriously. Only minor knock: the music was a bit loud for my personal preference. But that's it. Bottom line--well worth the stop. I'd go back without hesitation. read more

I came here on December 21st before my flight back home, we came downtown to go to another place but it was closed on Sundays and we stumbled across TPKs, it is a very small shop with a few tables and chairs, they have this iPad kiosk thing when you walk in to order. We didn't see anyone at the register just 2 people cooking so we ordered there. We ordered a bunch of different tacos and a quesadilla, the tacos were really good but I think a little overpriced for what they are , there really is no interaction just walk in order and eat, they do have a salsa bar and it is good. Overall I would give this place 3 1/2 to 4 stars, the no interaction thing threw me off, overall good spot if your craving some tacos. read more

The churros remain "the best" in the Central Valley! But the burrito Finally did it, it disappointed me horribly! The meat was not very seasoned and at least 90 percent of the meat was fatty, chewy, stringy. Absolutely inedible. I know it's the risk you take when ordering asada, but this way too bad for a place I've been highly impressed with the last several times. Unfortunately after this experience, it looks like I'm onto the next spot, looking for a new asada burrito. Also if you're ordering delivery, go through DoorDash instead of GrubHub, cause I've been paying the same price for (2) churros when I've been only receiving one through GrubHub. love love love. me n my boyfriend come here the time when we want fresh yummy shrimp cocktail. the service is amazing and the food is absolutely delicious. from the asada and shrimp tacos to the shrimp cocktail we love it all! the prices are worth every bit. just 13$ for a shrimp cocktail served with lemons chips and crackers for free upon request. we love the vibes inside and the seating is open and they always have music playing and tv. everyone here is so considerate and kind. only reason we come downtown from tulare just to eat here ! thank you guys!!!! read more

Did a quick order out. Food arrived hot and timely. The birria tacos were tasty and full of meat. The consomme was good not the best in town but the tacos were on point. The mini tacos were delicious and also full of carne. The flautas are larger than most and had generous chicken stuff inside. They were super crispy without the meat being dried out. A very nice and tasty botana! Lastly, delivery of tacos was on styrofoam plates - old school! Made me feel like someone made a plate left the pachanga and handed it to me. Aesthetics of the place were great with color, not too bright or too plain in my opinion. Like how they are visually in sight of the dining area so you know that they're not messing around and could tell if they're really busy or just slow which was not in this case. Food was delicious and my picky 3 and 1.5 year old both ate a full kids plate of asada tacos and rice which is hard for even us to find something to eat good like they did here. Horchata was delicious and Jamaica was as well but I'd personally favor horchata any day. Serving sizes were great for regular platters and feel like the kids was pricey but didn't know it included drinks before the server walked out the cups but half the kids plate if you get tacos is with rice which was great. I'd personally rate this 10/10 since it was our first restaurant like experience downtown and were wanting like taco truck like food but did not know where to go and would recommend multiple people here but definitely would not recommend to eat there with a large group since it's a smaller business but for sure will not disappoint read more

The woman who took our order was nice and friendly. I got a carne asada taco which was tasty. The chicken tostada was just ok. How do you eat a tostada with a tiny plastic fork? You pick up the shell and bite it. Not my favorite way to eat a tostada. I would have preferred a real fork. They use styrofoam for take out. This is probably my favorite place in all of Visalia. I always get the mini tacos Al Pastor. After migrating here from 10 years in LA and visits to San Diego/TJ, you could say I have reasonable standards for street tacos. This is one of the few places I've found with great flavor and that actually includes pineapple in their sauce. I also love that it's not overly greasy, which can be a common pitfall of authentic restaurants. I notice a lot of places up here don't offer Al Pastor at all, but instead do Adobada so I really appreciate having the Al Pastor option. I've also tried Asada, chicken and birria style tacos, they were good but Al Pastor is the most balanced IMO. If they had the chance I'd love to see a chicken tinga or similar addition to the menu sometime just for variety, and because the sauce really helps keep the meat moist. The service is excellent, straightforward and friendly. I've taken friends and family here and it's nice to know I can count on a good experience. The ambiance is a fairly simple taqueria style with a salsa bar. I really can't complain about anything there, it's always been well run and clean. I feel like business has been picking up over the past year and maybe more locals have discovered this spot, which while disappointing for me makes me happy for the owners. read more

I was sad when the former taqueria in this location closed because I loved them, BUT this place is just as good! I had the quesabirria taco because it's one of my fave tacos and there's is great! Good portion of quality meat and very flavorful. It was grilled perfectly too with those crusty cheesy edges! The shrimp taco had a wonderful creamy sauce and the shrimp were fresh and not chewy at all. Both tacos were great although very different from each other.
