Found this small little gem of a tire shop in Woodbridge from their Kijiji ad. I was looking for cost effective tires for my son's car and found their prices to be very reasonable. Within minutes of us arriving, and agreeing on the price, the car was up on a hoist and the tires being changed. I came here for a plug and patch of a nail that was in my tire. Google maps and Yelp both had addresses that weren't current so I'm not sure if this company has a tendency to move around a lot which is suspect. The confusion isn't mine alone though as when I showed up and asked "is this Traction Tire?" the employee responded "I don't know"!?!? There is no sense of order or accountability. If not for the fact that they were open until 7 and every place else was until 6, I was there, and did have a nail in my tire I'd have passed. A plug was put in though the tire was not removed and patched. That's the easy (lazy) way. I could even have done that. They didn't apply any silicone onto the plug but did after the plug was inserted. They then set the silicone on fire for close to 2 minutes - I'd never seen this before and was shall we say puzzled by the procedure. After about 25 minutes (10 of which was the repair) I paid $20 cash (not my preference) and was on my way. The tire was under inflated as they didn't bother to check the pressure when filling, but the repair did seem to take. The experience was topped off when one of the employees asked me for a ride in the opposite direction of where I was going and only refused when I was unable to take more than just him. I wouldn't trust this operation to anything more significant and actually don't feel 100% about even this minor transaction. read more

Wasted half my Sunday at this place, and after returning back there, still have unbalanced, overpriced, low tread, winter tires. I called the place on a Sunday morning, and asked about used winter tires in a specific size, which they were advertising at $45, installed, including balancing. Got confirmation that there are a few sets in stock, they are $45 a tire, and that the shop is open. I said I would be there in 20 minutes, he said ok. I arrive there 30 minutes later, the shop has no name on the door. They are closed. I call, he says they will be open at 10 am, which is half an hour. I wait, until 10:05. I call again. He says they will be opening in 2 minutes. At 10:18, they open. The owner is talking on the phone. They wave me to drive in. 2 other cars come in behind me. I ask them to show me the 3 sets of tires advertised. They only have one. He assures me the tread is at 70%. The tires are ok, but maybe more like 60%. I figure that I'm already there, and $45 is an ok deal. I see that they start to replace tires without balancing or checking the pressure. They tell me that rear tires don't need balancing. After some insisting, they agree to balance all tires. It seems that they are too quick on the balancer and don't do a second spin to verify. Finally, after 12 pm, nearly 3 hours after arrival, I can drive out. Instead of charging $45 per tire, he charges $50. I called him on it, he tells me that winter tires cost more. I remind him about our phone conversation, he says "sometimes prices change". I didn't want to argue over $20, but this guy is dishonest. I take the car for a test drive. Surely, after 90 km/h, my wheels start to vibrate. I go back. Am told to wait in line. They finally do a proper balancing on the front wheels. 3 spins on each. After 2 pm, nearly the whole day wasted, I get out of there. The front wheel balancing is ok. The rear wheels vibrate after 110 km/h. I'm going back there a 3rd time. Bad service. Tires are not the thread life advertised. Supposed to be 95% end up being 60%. Tires were unbalanced and started to shake the car at high speed. They didn't want to balance again. Will have to take my tires to be balance by a professional. Such a waste of time and money. Stay away. read more

Wow... Where to start.... First of all the hours of operation are incorrect. They don't open until 10am and there installers were an hour late yesterday. This is a dark and dingy horrible little place that looks like it has never been cleaned. The only indication of existence from the road is a small sign on the door that say's "Tires". The waiting area was in the upstairs office where there was loud music blaring from the TV. There were doors that opened into the warehouse below with a 20 foot drop (DO NOT BRING CHILDREN HERE). The warehouse was also blaring another station so loud that the combined songs made it very difficult to hear John. We looked through the tires and found something suited my needs (Cheap and Used for a car going into storage). I was told to come back in a half hour and my tires would be installed and I could pick them up. 40 minutes later I return to pick them up but NO TIRES... John is speaking to a belligerent tire salesman that is trying to convince him that he knows nothing about the retail cost of tires. They both know I'm there but proceed to talk shop for another 10 minutes. After some choice words I convince John to install the tires for me (his excuse was his installers have not shown up). I proceed to tell the sales guy what I think of his six sigma sales technique. JOHN IS A FAST TIRE INSTALLER (Ok enough of the good news). He lost my chrome caps for my valves $@#!$@. Will stay away from this tire shop at all cost!!! Ordered the tires and waited for three days and never delivered, never trust a word this guy "John" says, will promise you everything and at the end you are just wasting your own time, will not even waste time, go anywhere else would be a better experience. Horrible experience! Guy showed up at 10am on Saturday to unlock the doors when I had a 9am appointment! I sat in a waiting room that had no heat for an hour and a half. He finally came up to tell me it was finished, asked how I was paying and when I said Mastercard, he responded with no, our system is down. Only cash. Who the **** has $1000 cash on them. He could've told me their system was down before I sat there all morning. I offered to leave the card number so he could run it when the system was back up. No, wouldn't let me leave with my new tires. I asked him to put my old tires back on and I left empty handed. Worst service ever. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

What a joke, the guy who runs the shop or could be the owner "Mike" is probably on drugs or is a retard. I called this place the first time and gave him the specification for tires I needed and Mike confirmed over the phone that they had the tire. Long story short I get there and sure enough the guy doesn't have my size. He initially tried to sell me two tires out of which one had a hole and had issues mounting on my rim. This guy "Mike" then continued to plug the hole with the liquid rubber type substance and sets it on fire. This resulted in the brush he used to apply the substance and the tire to catch on fire. At this point I suspected his competence, even the guys he had helping seemed more knowledgeable at times. Regardless I let him do his thing, a few moments later I see them taking off both the tires, and Mike tells me the tires are no good and gives me another set of tires which are not meant for my car. My car being AWD needs to have a square setup, but being in the situation where I had little options, I hesitantly took Mikes advise and put on smaller tires than I should, which he promised he would swap the following week. Fast forward to this week, I called Mike on Thursday and asked if he had a set of tires to swap out as promised, and again he said Yes. The following day "Friday" I call Mike again from work to confirm he had my tires, and planned to leave work early to have this finally fixed, again he said "yes" and told me to swing by before 7pm. So I left work early, and also made a call on my way to the shop stating that I was going to be there by 5:30pm, and I was assured that would be ok. I finally arrive at the shop and I find his two helpers working on putting up shelf's, the shop like looking like a total mess. I finally find mike in walking around in the front like a dazed zombie messing with his phone, and told him that I was there for the fire swap. Annoyingly Mike says I had to wait, so I asked him how long and he says "come back in 30mins", so I take off to the bank and return promptly. I pull up and I see Mike, he sluggishly walks over looking half dazed and asked what I need done. Go figure, I spoke to this guy 4 times and just saw him 20 mine before and he still didn't have a clue as to what I needed done. So I begin explaining that I was there to get my tires swapped as he promised, suddenly I see a confused look, and he begins to tell me that he doesn't have the tires anymore. Like WTF this guy must be on drugs, I thought to my self. Quite upset I told him that I called and that he confirmed that he had the tires, but this was pointless as the guy started to blame me for not being clear on what I needed. To be honest I have no idea how this fool is still in business, the shop was a mess and the guy running it is a retard. I really wanted to write this review so people don't wast time with people like this, who don't respect people time. I am surprised his shop is still in business, after reading other people's review this guy seems so shady, with his shop relocating so many times. Stay away people!!! read more

This shop has very poor customer service and deceptive sales tactics. Buyer beware if you plan on visiting this shop for used tires. The man at the shop told me he had 2 sets of Michelin tires with 70% and 80% tread just before I arrived there. When I got there there were no Michelin tires in the size that I asked for over the phone. He also talked to me like I was stupid because I was a woman and tried to sell me winter tires that were a brand that no one has heard of and less than 4/32 when everyone knows that once 50% of the tread is gone on winter tires and they are below the wear indicator they are useless! When I told him this he was rude again saying that they were good and that maybe they should hire me to work there since I think I know more than he did. So I asked him to bring his tire gauge and then we can see which one of us was actually right. Of course he refused because he tried to sell me tires that were nearly bald! Shame on you Traction Tire. Then he said they don't use gauges because they know they sell good tires. Please do yourself a favour and deal with a reputable and honest business rather than this shop. read more
