There are signs all over the place reminding you that if you break something you buy it....that there are cameras watching...and not to touch this or that. It's not the most welcoming environment-I get the feeling that I'm being watched suspiciously from the moment I enter the door. Plus, the giant pictures of previous shoplifters posted up on the wall make me think they have a history of unsavory folks. That's too bad, ruins it for the rest of us.

I asked the community in Dutch John and someone recommended this clinic, said they liked it. I thought I'd give this place a shot. Before I go into detail, Let me share that taking our cat to the vet clinic is a big deal. She gets extremely anxious. It is a very stressful event for her and us. Before seeing the Vet the lady walked us into the room and said to weigh the cat. The weigh station was dirty and she said hold on, let me clean it. Took longer than it should have to clean it. The vet came in. He did not introduce himself. He just said "Hi" then went straight to the cat. He did not greet the cat. Rather grabbed her behind her shoulders with notable grip, lacking any compassion for the animal. He looked at her a bit. Listened to her heart and lungs then looked at her teeth... Barely, as the cat was scared. Called my cat "it" and said "it looked fine and teeth look fine. Lungs and heart sound good. Needs a teeth cleaning soon." I don't even know if he even knew her sex? Did he even look at her chart? No prev. medical history questions asked. Nothing! They didn't even offer her a treat! My cat loves the vet treats (that she has been given elsewhere in the past) The whole thing was sad, bc my cat LOVES MEN. She loves her vet appointments because she gets all the attention and enjoys the compliments and treats. She loves the social part of the visit. She was not given any of these. She was treated like a number. I could not get her out of that Vet's hands fast enough. Broke my heart to see her be treated like that, bc she is such a lover herself, and I know all she wanted to do was love that Vet and get some affection back. The Vet never gave her any attention, other than a firm grip and look over. On my way out to pay, I asked if they had cat treats, as she loves the ritual of a kitty treat at the vet. They said "No we only have dog treats." and left it at that. Really???? You are a vet clinic and you do not have anything for the cats? Just dog treats? Unacceptable. While in the front waiting room I noticed a framed picture with a quote on the wall that said something like: Veterinarians are the best doctors because their patients cannot tell them what is wrong, rather the Vet just has to know what is wrong. - How narcissistic is that? Completely goes with how I initially preserved the Vet while in the exam room. Clearly he cares more about himself and his gifted Vet ability than the actual pets and animal creatures. On my way out I asked, "Does the vet specialize in farm animals?" Office staff said "yes" then I said, "I could tell." then I walked out. Overall: *Both the staff and the Vet lacked any compassion to Punk Kitty (patient) and me *The vet was rough *Kind of dirty facility (not clean.) *Lacked in professionalism (staff on phone, family in and out of office which distracted from patients) *ZERO precautions or concern for COVID19. NO ONE WAS WEARING A MASK or enforcing protective measures. As I got into my car I held my cat and cried. I felt so bad for taking her there and for how she was touched and handled.

Joy's Landing turned out to be one of the best experiences I've ever had when leaving her in the care of another. Peggy was super sweet and open from the first phone inquiry to the pick-up. Facility is a great set up with separated play areas and kennels. It looks and smells VERY clean and sanitary. Peggy and her staff immediately loved on Chloe and allowed her to acclimate by walking around and getting familiar with the space with her nose. I was sent a message and pictures to keep me updated on status. I felt completely at ease and peace leaving Chloe at Joy's Landing while I went off the grid to raft with my family for 4 days.

Except here we are at 6am and the flowers look miserable yet again. I am not sure if the supplier just did not bring a good batch in for Valentine's Day or what the issue was. But my issue is that my aunt just recovered from cervical cancer over the holiday's. I wanted to take her something special, and beautiful which is why I went to a local floral shop assuming their quality would be higher than some of the grocery stores in town. Well unfortunately the quality has actually been significantly worse than what I could have bought at Jubilee or Stewart's. The only unfortunate part is that I blew my budget to get her roses thinking I wanted to get her high quality flowers that would last and be something beautiful on her night stand to wake up to. My aunt told me to just throw away the replacement flowers I brought back last night. And I am so disappointed because now it's too far gone in my budget to order her a new arrangement. The woman just almost died from cervical cancer so I can understand her not wanting dying flowers in her home. Just very disappointed in myself that i Did not have it in my budget any more to replace them with a different company. I guess that's why our special instructions weren't followed. My poor dog was traumatized by how short her hair was cut and it took her two weeks to start acting normal again. I dropped off a Labradoodle and picked up a whippet in the middle of winter after I said I didn't…read morewant my dog shaved. I am well versed in corded dogs. Poodles are often corded. I was aware that my doodle had quite a bit of matting. I was prepared to cord him over a few weeks, but I wanted to see if he might brush out. I brought him in and said maybe if it's really bad we can trim him like a schnauzer...I received a call asking to shave him if need be and I said, " it is supposed to snow, please don't shave him". I was so upset when I saw him. He's even knicked to the skin in several places. It's only hair and it will grow back but it's so cold outside, when I brought him home he wouldn't stay out long enough to potty so he pottied inside my house. He's never done that. To add insult to injury, she left him with a shaved head and a fluffy tail. He looks absurd. Who shaves a dog to his skin. She looked at me like I was a terrible dog owner because she shaved most of his coat in one piece. It was like she thought she was doing my dog a favor(as if he were a rescue from the street in trouble). The nerve. I could have corded him without a problem. My poor dog is freezing. I have to find him a coat in the morning. I made a sarcastic remark about bringing my kommondor in and teaching the group how to cord, but quite frankly, that's not gonna happen. I'm mortified, my dog is freezing, and this groomer doesn't listen to the owner. Oh, she also had a handful of hair she raised up at me and stated, "This was from his balls." Who does that? She kept using the word balls over and over like it was the proper terminology - yuck. Just yuck. I will drive to Salt Lake next time - or do my own dog... she followed me out to my truck, saying she wanted an after photo, but it felt like she was looking to cover her buttor start something. I paid the bill, and out of habit, I tipped her. I was literally in shock. In hindsight, I should have refused or left no tip at all. A man passed us by on the way to our truck, he was.laughing it was so bad. Give your dog a chance by not taking a chance here.
