I drove from San Antonio to Corpus when I was ready to add a new bird to the family because I had been to the old location and remember they had a large selection of conures. The newer location gives the birds much more room and is a better store overall. It seems cleaner and I prefer the layout. They have bulk seed available and I pick some up when I'm in the area (bulk is important because I mix a few kinds to get a blend that isn't too heavy on the dried fruit or sunflower seeds). The only things that I would like to see stocked there are more perch & toy types. I prefer to give my birds natural manzanita wood perches and still haven't found a good place that sells them locally. I'd like to see more smaller wooden chew/climbing toys for conure sized birds, it seems like most of the ones they stock are for the big parrots. That said what matters is the health of the birds and this one is great. And yes, when I stop by it's fun to chat with the Macaws & Cockatoos for a few minutes, hear their earth-shaking roars and remind myself why I stick with Conure/Cockatiel sized birds. I explained that he still had puppy tendencies and would need extra care/attention. The sounds of whimpering, howling, and barking from the other dogs alone were very alarming but I was reassured he was in a safe environment. Not even an hour later I was informed that the lazy female groomer gave up on my Astro boy and used the excuse that he was too much for her. When I asked the big hoop earrings tattooed female why no one could lend a hand to finish the haircut she said everyone was busy. No resolution was offered and not only was she extremely rude and unapologetic she gave zero remorse for doing a half ass job. No manager wanted to provide assistance and to be frank no one was bothered by this horrific experience. The lack of customer service is disgusting.

I told the lady that one of the kittens had died and she told me that she would have never noticed until she feed them. Well its noon so when are you going to feed these animals? Before the open sign gets turned on you should be checking on the animals and not allowing the clients to discover the dead ones ... then when her boyfriend / helper declared that he didn't get paid to touch a dead kitten she proceeded to grab a trash bag to collect it. He said in front of the other customers that all the kittens should be thrown into the trash bag and tossed out. These people don't care about the well being of the pets they sell its disgraceful and I feel sorry for every pet in there watching the cage mate die. The place should be closed down and boycotted!

Used to be my favorite place to buy poultry and feed. I'm very disappointed in this family owned…read morebusiness. First incident was the moldy feed. I buy large amounts because we live so far away. We have to drive into town to get our feed so it's just easier to buy it bulk. All of the feed we purchased was moldy, bugs inside of the bags. We call to the store thinking they would at least credit us for the purchase or replace with good feed. We can not feed animals this. We spoke to several people. Every person told us we would have to speak to another person then finally a man comes on the line and says that it happens sometimes. It would not be replaced or credited back to us. We were out hundreds of dollars. Feed had to be thrown out. Next was the sick turkeys. The turkeys we were supposed to get were blue slates and chocolates. We got chocolates and blacks. The chocolates were sick. Within 24 hours the chocolates were dead and the blacks were sick also. I fought to keep everyone alive. Lost $88 and 3 of the turkeys. This business has lost us as customers.
