My first contact with this store was for a warranty repair on my Craftsman riding mower. I had to…read morepay the fee to have them pick it up and return it, but otherwise the repair was free. What I didn't like with that interaction was the fact that they returned my mower without letting me know they had returned it. Luckily, I have a Ring doorbell. I was notified of motion in my driveway. I went outside to look, and my mower was just sitting in my driveway in front of my garage door. They did not call me to tell me that they were on the way, and they did not ring my doorbell to let me know they were there to drop the mower off. I happened to be off work that day, and was able to move my mower inside my garage as soon as I knew it was there. If I hadn't been home, it would have sat there all day with the key in the ignition for anybody to steal. I'm just glad it wasn't raining out. My second contact with this store went much better. I needed to make a copy of my house key. Places like Lowe's and Walmart have moved to the key cutting kiosk, instead of having an employee do it. I prefer to have the hands on approach. I went to the back counter and handed the guy my key. He cut it for me, and I went to pay at the front register. I was happy to hear that it was only $3. Those kiosks charge about twice that much.

Their selection may not be as deep as the big box guys, but they usually have what I'm looking for and at a fair price. Given that I don't have to drive very far is a big advantage for me. I'v had keys made here on more than one occassion and also some woodwork specialty tools, hardware and paint. The staff that I have worked with have all been friendly and professional. I got to the store around 1:00pm. There was a generator on the floor by itself and no one was around it. So I got it and got 2 gas cans. I heard an employee told another employee to tell me that the generator was not for sale. So, the other employee came to me and said so. I looked confused but I left it. I went to the parking lot and called our office to let them know there were no more generators and they said we had called and was wondering if they can do anything for us since we work with Veterans. So, I returned and ask for a manager. I was told that the employee that told me the generator was not for sale was a manager. So I went back to her and told her about our organization and that we work with Veterans. I let her know that the VA wanted to make sure we had a contingency should power go out. She said there was nothing she could do for us. At that time I noticed a couple employees came to take the generator to the back. I asked her if she know of any other stores of their's had them and she said she did not know. If found it odd that she did not look. Anyway, i went back to the parking lot and looked up othe Northern Tool stores. I decided to cal the one in Kannapolis. Elizabeth answered the phone. I told her the same story about our organization and why we need a generator. She said they did not have any generators but if I can get there she can get it ordered and I can pick it up at their distribution center. I drove from the Colfax store to Kannapolis and Elizabeth and her team was waiting for me. Because of their help and them understanding the need for what we do, I ordered 2 generators and was able to pick them up. That is what care and customer service is at the Kannapolis store. What I received was a garden hose reel without the four tires it was supposed to come with. When I called Liberty Garden's customer service, they assured me that they would send the missing tires. Thirteen days passed with no sign of the tires. I called them again, only to be told that they were unsure about the condition in which Amazon had sent the product and insinuated that Amazon might have sent me used goods. I bought a NEW Liberty Garden hose reel from Amazon, as clearly stated on my receipt. This company's customer service is atrocious, and their handling of my issue has been abysmal.
