Shelves half- empty, junk merchandise and an employee who was rude to my asian wife. Will never set foot in there again.

Over feeding cost a lot of money, wasteful and frustrating. Loose baled from the farm, with fat double and triple thick flakes that fall apart when trying to separate flakes to reduce waste, inturn dropping loose thick steamed Alfalfa all over ground, doubling work load having to rake up piles and put in wheel barrel to carry over a few acres to get everyone fed. They don't seem to care and a few of the office staff are rude and treat the loader staff like children calling them "boys" when they are are actually nice young men, working hard giving better customer service than the "customer service cashier" I used to tell people about "hayplus" a couple years ago, not anymore. They must have changed the farmers they used to buy from or someone is placing number 2 in the number 1 barn, where they have stacks of mixed cow hay in the number 1 squeeze. When we spend thousands of dollars on feed we expect better quality when we think we are purchasing number one we expect number one, not dry dusty overgrown, thick steamed Alfalfa with purple flowers, that has little protein nutrition because the farmer waited to long to cut and bale. Quality matters when animals depend on proper nutrition to grow and feed their young, this kind of Alfalfa reduces milk production and the animals are not satisfied, needing additional supplements costing more than it would with quality number one they used to sell. Very disappointing and frustrating to spend so much money on low quality feed.

"In 1979, the Chino Valley Gain and Mill Company was purchased by Mike and Sherrill Olsen" (January 21 and 2022) and has become a much-loved agricultural store for our community. Olsen's Grain provides a knowledgeable, hospitable staff to answer all their customer's questions and concerns regarding the raising and well-being of their animals. Olsen's various selections of pet products, hay, and bagged livestock feeds are what make Olsen's Grain a tremendous one-stop-shop store. Once you come through the heavy double entry doors of the moderately sized store, you are greeted with a friendly welcome from one of the staff members behind the checkout island. I have received product help from Olsen's Grain's knowledgeable staff almost every time I walk into the Chino Valley store. My inquiries are often about the proper feeding regimen for the chickens and ducks I bought this spring. Following their advice, I have had excellent results using both Purina Brand Feed and Olsen's Grain's Milled feed. The store is well lit, making the great product displays eye-catching. Olsen's Gain carries many different products to suit the feed and pet supply needs of the vast customer base they cater to. Olsen's Grain has feed products we know and trust, like Purina for the dogs, equine, poultry, and game birds; they also carry a select variety of specialty brands to meet the ever-changing consumer dietary needs. While Olsen's Grain is not the only store that carries a variety of poultry and livestock feed, Olsen's Grain has the edge over its competitors by milling its grains and doing specialty order milling upon request. This provides their customer base with nutritionally comparable feed alternatives that are budget-friendly. Olsen's Grains milled product line does not have a fancy label like many other bagged feed brands. Olsen's Milled livestock feed comes in 50-pound bags, and their poultry feeds come in 40- pound bags. At the same time, Purina brand poultry feed has well-decorated 50- pound bags and costs more. While the staff often suggests Purina brand poultry feed before Olsen's mill feed, there is approximately a 0.10 per pound price difference between the two brands, depending on what stage of bagged feed you are purchasing. Besides Purina and Olsen's mill, they also carry a few select brands of organic, non-GMO, and vegetarian poultry feed products. Many people are getting away from store-bought staple foods like meat and eggs; they have become health conscious about what goes into their animals. Olsen's Milled Grain for Poultry states nowhere on their feed labeling that their products are non-GMO or certified organic. Olsen's does declare their ingredients are "Processed Grain By-Products, Grain Products, Plants Protein Products" and then a list of minerals. Olsen's other poultry brands are Nature Smart, a certified organic and non-GMO line, and NatureWise, which does not claim to be organic or non-GMO. Still, they claim to have no animal by-products or added hormones in their product. NatureWise even has a layer feed that claims to be "A complete, Nutritious vegetarian diet for layer chickens." Most of the Purina Poultry feed products listed on the Olsen's Grain website have no mention of being certified organic and non-GMO. The label does state in bold lettering the product is "Animal protein and fat-free" or "Free from animal proteins or animal fats." Olsen's Grain carries Purina Organic scratch and Organic chick start-grower, USDA-certified organic, and the chick start is non-GMO. It is a versatile company that recognizes that, for some, price is not the only factor in purchasing a feed product for our animals, but it is always a vital consideration. Olsen's Grain Chino Valley has a large storage area behind their storefront, where they keep their various hay, straw, and bagged feed. The staff in the Mill yard is exceptional; regardless of the weather conditions or how complex their day has been, you are always met with kindness and an energetic drive to take care of the job. It is always a pleasure to slip those hardworking young people a tip; no matter how small the tip is, their smile of gratitude is heartwarming. Olsen's Grain, Chino Valley, Arizona store is a hometown full-service feed store where I am pleased to spend my money weekly. Whether I am buying multiple bags of grain and some hay or running in for a tomato plant, the store is always clean and well-stocked. Cited: Olsen's Grain. January 21, Olsens Grain | on, and 2022. She needs to retire she is out dated for the company, they need someone with a fresh eye, new perspective and ideas. I've been given incorrect information on caring for my animals out of lack of knowledge, and ignorance. I do NOT recommend this store, I have received much better service at other feed stores in the area, id rather put my money and loyalty twords a better company.
